Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Only issue was the box was mangled which I'm sure was due to the weight of the product but extra precautions were taken prior to shipping. The harness was taped to the frame and the mounting hardware was taped inside the hitch. Installation went a little longer than planned but that was due to the age of the vehicle. I highly recommend ordering from etrailer.com 844474

Install went smooth. I reccomend tapping out the passenger side threads because the rust and grime in them from 120k miles before using them made getting the bolts in a bit of a hassle. But going slowly and using penetrating fluid will work as well as the threads are quite large. DO NOT STRIP THESE OR YOU WONT BE MOUNTING A HITCH TO OEM HOLES 795556

It's impossible to over emphasize how easy the installation was. I was prepared to lower the exhaust (as suggested in the video), but after eye-balling the hitch and where it needed to go, I just placed it on a hydraulic floor jack, slowly raised it and scooted it into position, then secured it into place. One person, forty minutes, and done. 715539

After a year of towing, no problems. In hindsight, I would have preferred a wiring kit that mounted permanently to the hitch instead of having to fish the harness through the hatchback each time. Also, the little metal loop the chain threads through is smaller on one side than the other which has caused a little gnashing of teeth, but overall, still very happy and would buy again.

Bought and Installed the hitch one year ago for my 2004 Acura MDX. Easy to install if you watch the video and follow the instructions. Also a second person helps. The only issue I had was the threads on my vehicle. Make sure you clean the treads or run a tap to clean the threads. Run the tap! Product and company met all expectations and I would buy again. 670642

Great and solid! Delivery was SO FAST TOO. Dude at etrailer wrapped it up on a Sunday night!?!? I got a shipped email like 3 hrs after purchase! Bam! Very pleased to get it 2 days later especially with free shipping. Kudos to etrailer! A side note: the bolt holes on honda pilot on the passenger side were open from the factory, the driver side has a tow hook with bolts in it. The driver side was fairly easy to attach however the swelling of holes on the passenger side i had to gently TAP for threads to go. Just FYI may be a slight pain depending on year or condition of the frame on your vehicle. That being said over all i am very pleased with the seller and the installation and build of this hitch. Hope this is helpful. 663580

Ask the Experts about this Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch

  • Towing Capacity of 2005 Honda Pilot and Parts Needed to Tow Trailer
I took a look at the online owner's manual for your 2005 Honda Pilot. It states that this vehicle, if equipped with a transmission cooler and power steering fluid cooler, has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds for a standard trailer. This limit is assuming that there are just two occupants in the vehicle (including the driver). For each additional occupant, the capacity actually goes down (4 occupants = 3,300 pound capacity, etc). I do recommend verifying this information in your...

  • Trailer Hitch for 2008 Honda Pilot that Allows Full Size Spare
The Draw Tite hitch # 75599 is a confirmed fit for her 2008 Honda Pilot and will fit with a full sized. In our install videos we've only had the chance to install this on a vehicle with a smaller spare, but it will fit with the full sized spare. For trailer wiring you'd then want the part # 118336. Having the 4-way run out of the back hatch is actually the preferred method although it seems like it wouldn't be. Having the 4-way stored inside the cab keeps it protected from rain and moisture...

But the most popular hitch for your vehicle is the Curt hitch, part # 13328. Installation is relatively easy, even for a beginner. The Curt receiver simply bolts on to the inside of each frame rail. Both hitches require about 40 minutes of installation time. The Curt hitch does use two extra screws to attach the center bumper bracket above the receiver...
