Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Lights were super easy just a clip on all had to do was remove the passenger tail light 10/10 would definitely recommend.
Install was super simple, definitely a two person job while one person holds the hitch while the other one installs the bolts. Hardest part was dropping the exhaust out of the way. Hitch does what I need it to do for a cad and it hides away nicely under the bumper. I also bought an adapter that sticks out further and goes to 2” to fit the rest of my hitch accessories.
easy to install by looks have yet to have installed im disabled and need someone to do the work whats nice it comes with everything to do it. where can you get more of the pull wires so when i find someone to put it on hor me i watch youtube and it shows the use of 6 wires used to keep everything in line would like to know where i can pick some at for it would help the person doing the job a lot easier thank you
I could not believe how easy this was to install or how quickly it shipped (for free). I installed it by myself in about a half hour (including the 4 flat connector I purchased at the same time). This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone.
The installation for this hitch was super easy! It literally took me just over a half hour from start to finish. .. honestly it took longer to find my wrenches.
After Dropping the exhaust down from the rubber hangers, I was surprised how easy the fish wires were to use. All of the holes lined up, and the bolts dropped into place. One of the simplest things I've done to my car ever! Almost ranks with putting gas in. LOL
The mounting holes did not match the holes in the chassis. I called customer support and they advised me to "pull real hard and stretch it to make it fit." Pull real hard? I was stunned speechless by the stupidity. Do you want a hitch that's so flimsy you can manually bend it? Ended up drilling new mount holes.
Great product. Easy install. Great price! I have purchased several of these from e trailer and they fit perfect on all the cars I have put them on.
Arrived quickly and well packed. It does have the bolt fishers in the parts package (4) so no need to purchase. The video is very accurate on how to install - except if your Impala is an "SS" or LTZ with dual exhausts you have both mufflers to drop - and you can't really just pull it to one side (as shown in the video) - as they are welded in a "Y". Still the installation is rated as a 4 out of 10, and that is really true. I did the fishing of the bolts, and the install of the fitted wire harness by myself - but had a helper to lift the hitch into position. Everything was done without the car jacked off the ground, and after watching the video - it was EASY. Thanks
I installed this hitch on my 2014 Impala w/out help. Took me almost 2hrs from start to finish. Not bad for a 80 year old man. Your video was right on. I backed the car up on metal ramps used for changing oil and used plastic crates under each muffler plus the strap to hold pipes from going too low. The crates let me rest the hitch on top of the mufflers so I could line up the bolts. I started a nut on one back bolt and went from there. Lining up one side at a time with a loose nut and once all nuts were on I tightened one and put washers on the rest and then went back and added washers to all.. Very easy for DIY.
Good quality trailer hitch. Mounting holes matched up perfectly with holes in car frame. I watched the etrailer video before installation and the detailed video made installation easy. Only bad point is hitch arrived with several gouges and scrapes in the coating. Looked like it may have been installed on a vehicle prior to my purchase.....not sure I sprayed the scrapes with black paint and installed as is. This hitch will probably out last my car. It is well built. This is the 2nd or 3rd purchase thru etrailer and I am very pleased with their products, information, and shipping.
Very easy installation ! I'm very pleased with the results . I no longer have to rely on my buddies to haul my dirt bikes to the trails. Thanks etrailer
Was easy to install since my 2001 Chevy mpala back end sits high didn't have to use my jack. I plan to use a bike rack so I can take my kids bike riding at the park!
Draw_Tite hitch was a veritable snap to install. I did not refer to the written instructions much as I had watched the eTrailer.com website installation videos before I had even placed my order. The videos are just fantastic for learning the step-by-step installation process. I only had to refer to the written instructions for the actual torque requirements for the bolts and nuts. It would have been helpful to have a second person to lend a hand with the lifting into place and holding the hitch while the nuts were applied, but I was able to do the whole process by myself with the car up on ramps while laying on a creeper on the garage floor. If I had to find one complaint, it would only be that the hitch hardware does come with four (4) of the fish wire bolt leaders. I did not see this listed in the contents so I went ahead and ordered three extras I didn't really even need. Even so, the whole kit and process was pretty painless and a great price and value.
this products tracking was great . the hitch was clean and all bolts and washers were securely baged to the tow hitch I fitted it without reading the instructions and the bolts spring wire system for positioning attaching bolt /washer plate drill free installation was fun and not time consuming the hitch was so accurately manufactererd that I was able to lift the hitch up and all vehical gravity bolts/ washer plates positioned in the hitch within 5 seconds for torqueing I received a perfect older used ball and receiver for 5 dollars produced by the same company the reinforcing and metal thickness is exactly where don't worry about it is produced for winning thankyou
I ordered my products on Thursday February 13 and had it Monday February 17th. I was very satisfied with the packaging of my products and the quick shipping. Mrs Korren was very professional and made sure I had everything I needed for my hitch installation and that it fit my application. Everything came in one box which was very nice. I will be doing more business with etrailer.com and tell all my friends about then for custom hitches and anything they might need.
Added this hitch to my 2003 impala to pull a small utility trailer. I chose this hitch over others because the square tube passes through and is welded to the side plates instead of just mitering the square tube and welding, which was the case on at least one other hitch etrailer carried.
The hitch came with all the parts I needed including 4 wire bolt leaders. It did not have lock washers, though, so I ended up providing my own for the rear attachments, and nylock locknuts for the side bolts.
The hitch went on easily after lowering the exhaust, but when I went to rehang the exhaust I found that the muffler pushes against the bolts on the right side of the hitch. The exhaust is now louder in the cabin. I'll have to find a way to bend the exhaust hangers some to remedy that problem.
The hitch seems like top quality. It installed pretty easy. The hardest part was lifting and bolting it in place. It looks great though and doesn't stick out at all. I am satisfied!
Perfect fit, one of the easiest hitch installations I've done. Installed this hitch by myself in less than an hour. Did it by backing the vehicle on ramps instead of using a jack. Start by removing the muffler hanger bracket bolts. On my 2006 Impala a socket could not be used. I had to loosen the 2 bolts with a boxed end, take pressure off muffler and remove them by hand. Hint - tie the muffler out of the way once the bolts are removed. The supplied fish wires made snaking the carriage bolts and retainers a breeze. 4 were included, but I only used 1. I lined the bolts up with the holes on the hitch and held it up with a knee and my left had. Got a nut on each side to hold it and put washers and nuts on the remaining bolts. Once snug, remove the nuts used to hold it and reinstall with washer. Tighten the 6 nuts, untie the muffler, put the two bolts back in the hanger bracket and you're done! Great looking hitch and easy to install.
The draw-tite hitch was not difficult to install by myself except , you should have
included 6 pull wires because there is 6 bolts and the wires do not like to be reused.
Only 4 wires were included and it was quite difficult to force the wires to be reused.
The cost for the extra wires would be minor compared to the head aches for myself and I'm sure many others. So I'm dropping 2 stars , otherwise would have been 5.
Great, solid product. Installation was very simple. the wire retainers for the bolts worked very well. Would recommend!
The hitch was easier to install than I thought it would be. The most difficult part was manhandling the hitch while trying to install the nuts on the bolts. A helper would have been a huge labor and time saver but I managed. It took approximately an hour to complete the job.
I am very happy with the results. I like it that the hitch is not very noticable when veiwing from the back. It seems to be very solid and well built. I would recommend this product.
This hitch, along with a couple others, have a 3500 pound towing capacity. The hitch would definitely be up to the task. The more important question is, will the Impala handle the weight? To answer that, we need to head to the owners manual. It should list the towing capacity of the vehicle, remember this figure can vary based on engine, transmission and a host of other factors so we need to verify. You can also refer to the door sticker. It will have listed a GCWR, or Gross Combined Weight Rating. That is the total legal and approved weight of the car, anything in or on the car, and anything the car as pulling.
--Very simple to install and comes with coiled wires to help you 'fish' the bolts through the sub frame, thus making installation a breeze!!
Holding strong after a year, 10 tows, about a thousand miles. No issues!
The install kit made it a breeze, highly recommend it.
I read the directions to get acquainted with what tools I needed and what was required. I feel I am comfortable doing my own work so I had no worries. I backed my car, a 2013 Impala LTZ, in the garage at 1:00 PM .
I backed it up on my basic ramps I use for oil changes. There were no surprises when I got under the car. I followed the directions step by step
and I drove the car out with the installed hitch AND the wiring harness that went with it at 2:30 PM. In and out in an hour and a half without a lift. I used it 5 times last year to tow my pop-up over 1000 miles. I experienced no trouble at all. very solid, no shakes or rattles. It performed 100 % as advertised. You cannot ask for much more than that.
