Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Paint on hitch looks good installed easy would buy a hidden hitch again.

by:

Received in three days and installed in less then one hour.... looks great .... hidden hitch.

by:

Shipment was much quicker than expected, Thank you!

It would have been nice to know that 4 fish wires were included in the parts package. It was not mentioned on the site that I could see. It prompted me to purchase some just in case none were supplied.
I like this hidden hitch better than the Draw-Tite version. The cross bar supporting the draw bar passes through the frame plates that bolt to the vehicle frame. Draw-Tite butt welds the cross bar to the frame plates...IMO not as strong of a design! Price was right too! I am pleased with this Hidden hitch!

by:

Excellent productMy experience with etrailer was exceptional. Upon ordering, I had the hitch in 3 days. The Drawtite hitch was of good quality and fit perfectly. It took me about an hour to install by myself in the driveway while on my back. The fish wire that cones with the hitch made the job go smoothly. The car trailered my boat very well. The electrical connector kit worked fine too.

by:

I recieved the item and without any past knowledge of instalation found , with the video and directions it was really simple .

I haven't had a chance to put this on the vehicle yet, but it sure was quick getting here. The video for putting it on is EXCELLENT. At first I was concerned about ordering it from a company I have never dealt with before but I received e-mails right away and that made me feel better.

by:

Hitch was everything I thought it would be. Looks great. Recieved it in timely quicker than I expected. Everything that I ordered was sent. Thank you for your hard work and concern about taking such good care of your customers, like myself. I am quite satisified,

Installed the hitch and lighting kit on a 2006 Impala, the videos on your web site were spot on and a huge help, knew what I was getting into before I even crawled under the car. Delivery was exactly on the day promised, with no damage or missing items. Excellent all around.

  • Are there Any 2" Hitches for a 2009 Chevy Impala
Deron, you are correct, there are no 2" hitches for your 2009 Chevrolet Impala. You'd have to use the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HTAD with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36407. It also needs to be said that anytime you use a hitch adapter like # HTAD, your hitches capacity is cut by 50%.

  • Which Hitch for 2006 Chevy Impala would be Most Concealed
I have the info you are looking for, but the Hidden Hitch and the Draw Tite hitches are basically the same thing as they are both made by the same company. Curt is different as it is a completely different company. The Curt is going to have the edge on which is the most concealed as it is the most recessed under the bumper. The Draw Tite # 36407 is going to sit just as high as the Curt # C12252 but it would stick out more horizontally. I attached pictures of both installed on a vehicle...

  • What Trailer Hitch Will Fit On My 2011 Chevrolet Impala
Without knowing exactly what trailer hitch you have on your 2004 Chevrolet Impala I don't know if it will work on your 2011. However, two out of the three trailer hitches we carry for the 2004 Impala are also compatible with the 2011 Impala, the Draw-Tite Class II Frame Receiver Hitch # 36407 and the Curt Class II Receiver Hitch # C12252. If your hitch is not one of these then it may not fit and you would want to purchase one of the hitches above. Between the two hitches I would suggest...

  • Trailer Hitch and Towing Capacity of a 2008 Chevrolet Impala
From my research the 2008 Chevy Impala can tow up to a 1,000 pound trailer. You want the loaded trailer to stay under 1,000 pounds. As far as not scraping the ground I'm not sure what you're referring to but if the trailer is not overloaded and is loaded with the tongue weight between 10 and 15 percent of the trailer's weight then you shouldn't have any issues. You also want to make sure the trailer is level when towing. As for the hitch receiver I recommend the Draw-Tite # 36407. ...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2005 Chevrolet Impala
I have another option for you but the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13315 you were looking at is only confirmed to fit select Mazda CX-5's. There is not a class III hitch available for your 2005 Chevrolet Impala so I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # 36407. This hitch has a 300lb tongue weight rating and 3500lb trailer weight rating so it will be perfect for carrying a bike rack, cargo carrier, or even a ball...

  • Fit of Trailer Hitches on a 2012 Chevrolet Impala with Dual Exhaust
Trailer hitch receivers are often designed to fit multiple years and model trim packages of vehicles. They work with the variations between those years and models to cover a larger range with one part. So sometimes the pictures or videos we have are on models that aren't exactly the same as your but the install will be very similar, if not identical. For example, the Draw-Tite # 36407 will fit the Chevrolet Impala from 2000 to 2013 and the Impala Limited from 2014 to 2016. This hitch...

When we installed the Draw Tite hitch part # 36407 we found that from the center of our hitch pin hole to the outermost point of the bumper is 6-1/2 inches. If your bike rack has 11 inches from it's pin hole to the back of the upright mast this would easily clear.

Instead I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # 36407 which is a Class II 1-1/4" receiver with a 300lb tongue weight rating and 3500lb trailer weight rating. • Can a 2008 Chevrolet Impala LTZ Tow a Snowmobile
Your owners manual is the best resource to use when determining towing capacities of your vehicle, see section 4. I found a copy of the owners manual for a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and Chevy states that an Impala can tow a trailer, but the gross trailer weight must not exceed 1,000 lbs. The problem is that your 2014 Chevy Impala Limited turn signal circuits do not have the amperage rating to handle the additional draw of your trailer tailights. That's why you have to use a harness like the part # C59496 as it draws it's amperage from the vehicle battery.
