Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

The installation for this hitch was super easy! It literally took me just over a half hour from start to finish. .. honestly it took longer to find my wrenches. After Dropping the exhaust down from the rubber hangers, I was surprised how easy the fish wires were to use. All of the holes lined up, and the bolts dropped into place. One of the simplest things I've done to my car ever! Almost ranks with putting gas in. LOL 657753

I could not believe how easy this was to install or how quickly it shipped (for free). I installed it by myself in about a half hour (including the 4 flat connector I purchased at the same time). This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone. 664422

I ordered my products on Thursday February 13 and had it Monday February 17th. I was very satisfied with the packaging of my products and the quick shipping. Very happy with our trailer hitch. It has served us well over the past year and everything from ordering to installing was a simple process. We needed the hitch for my fathers wheel chair. It made life simpler for my parents if they didn’t have to put the wheel chair in the car, If I need another hitch in the future, I will order from here again. 699481

We have a couple of kids getting into biking and we use this hitch for a bike rack. We use it to go up the road a couple of miles and to drive hours to vacation and bike in Vermont and Acadia National Park in Maine. At the same time, my wife is uncomfortable driving the car to work with the bike rack installed. No problem - it's easy to take the rack off and put it back on. We have plans to try other devices with this product - like maybe a trailer for a canoe or row boat. I'm very happy we got this hitch - it has allowed us to really do more with our kids without any hassle. That's gold. 680620

Ask the Experts about this Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch

  • Which Hitch for 2006 Chevy Impala would be Most Concealed
I have the info you are looking for, but the Hidden Hitch and the Draw Tite hitches are basically the same thing as they are both made by the same company. Curt is different as it is a completely different company. The Curt is going to have the edge on which is the most concealed as it is the most recessed under the bumper. The Draw Tite # 36407 is going to sit just as high as the Curt # C12252 but it would stick out more horizontally. I attached pictures of both installed on a vehicle...

I have added a link to the installation instructions as well as links to a couple video installs for you to check out.

  • Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier Does Not Fit Class l Trailer Hitch On 2014 Chevrolet Impala
I checked your purchase order and found you purchased the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 36407. This hitch is a 1-1/4 inch Class l hitch and should accommodate any 1-1/4 inch accessories. Since you said you measured the inside dimension of the hitch and it is 1.26-inches, it seems the hitch is accurate and correct. If the bike carrier you purchased does not fit because it is 1.28 or 1.29 inches then I recommend checking with the retailer for information on a fix or return the bike...

  • Is There a Larger Hitch for 2014 Chevy Impala Limited?
There are a pair of trailer hitches which are confirmed fits for your 2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited, and each are Class II rated, the Draw-Tite, # 36407, or the Curt, # C12252. The receivers on these hitches are each 1-1/4 inches, and the gross trailer weight is 3,500 for each, while their tongue weight is 300 lbs; neither is rated for weight distribution. If you are interested in towing with your Impala, I can recommend a ball mount for your hitch, the Curt # C45519, and the accompanying...

  • Trailer Hitch and Towing Capacity of a 2008 Chevrolet Impala
From my research the 2008 Chevy Impala can tow up to a 1,000 pound trailer. You want the loaded trailer to stay under 1,000 pounds. As far as not scraping the ground I'm not sure what you're referring to but if the trailer is not overloaded and is loaded with the tongue weight between 10 and 15 percent of the trailer's weight then you shouldn't have any issues. You also want to make sure the trailer is level when towing. As for the hitch receiver I recommend the Draw-Tite # 36407....

  • Can a 2008 Chevrolet Impala LTZ Tow a Snowmobile
Your owners manual is the best resource to use when determining towing capacities of your vehicle, see section 4. I found a copy of the owners manual for a 2008 Chevrolet Impala and Chevy states that an Impala can tow a trailer, but the gross trailer weight must not exceed 1,000 lbs. Keep in mind, Chevy gives the Impala a maximum towing capacity of 1,000 lbs assuming the driver is the only additional weight in the vehicle. If there will be additional passengers and cargo in the vehicle,...
