2009 Toyota Venza

I installed a Class I hitch and completed the necessary wiring work on my 2009 Toyota Venza in about 4 hours, working alone. The hitch is not very heavy, but it cumbersome to handle with one set of hands - especially for a 69 year old. I plan to use the hitch to tow a small, lightweight utility trailer. The only criticism I have is with the written instructions provided with the wiring package. It would be very difficult to complete the task if one had to try to follow the written instructions. Fortunately I contacted etrailer and was immediately sent a video showing the entire wiring process - very simple. I enthusiastically recommend using etrailer when considering installing a trailer hitch. They respond to questions quickly, and are more than happy to provide assistance.

2013 Toyota Venza

I found myself in a place where the need for a pick-up or a trailer was in order, since i really like my 2013 Toyota venza i chose the later, after shopping on line i thought this looked to meet my needs i have the ability to tow 3500lbs with 500lb tongue weight, so the package showed up in 2 days and i was able to do the install in about 40 minutes , it was as easy as they said it would be, i did need help from my son with balancing the thing, but everything lined up perfectly, the electrical was another story, since you need to basically disassemble the entire rear interior of the vehicle to connect the wiring harness,(ford looks super simple)but the connections worked perfectly and the straps provided were plenty, and the whole thing after it was done looks high and tight, i like it.

2010 Toyota Venza

I put this hitch on a 2010 Venza that has about 64,000 miles on it. It is much easier if the vehicle is new as it took me a little while to find the pre-drilled holes on the car frame as the entire bottom of the car was covered in grime and grease from driving.
I have a dual exhaust on my Venza so both sides of the muffler have to be lowered but that was easy. If you are doing this by yourself you might want to get something to hold up one side of the hitch while to you attaching the other side. Just be careful not to strip the bolts that attach the hitch to the frame. It is a little harder to get the drivers side bolts tightened up as the exhaust/muffler system gets in the way if you have bigger hands. All in all I was very impressed with the quality of this hitch and the service. I would recommend to my friends.

2015 Toyota Venza

I ordered and received Curt hitch receiver C12341 for my 2015 Toyota Venza AWD. The product arrived within 48 hours and was well packaged and in excellent condition, no scratches, etc.
Using the video link provided by etrailer, the install took no more than an hour and was fairly easy on my vehicle, not even requiring the help of another person. While mechanically inclined, I am not a professional mechanic by any means.
I also ordered and installed the Curt C56079 vehicle wiring kit to go on this same vehicle. It too was relatively easy to install, although it actually took longer to do than the hitch receiver.
Thanks etrailer for providing a great product at a competitive price, along with clear, complete, and free installation instructions!

Great price and speedy delivery. Box was damaged and hitch was protruding from box. No damage however.
Hitch installed in about an hour with no issues. Wiring took a couple hours as I had to run a hot wire from rear of car to battery which was a pain.
Saved about $250.00 by doing this myself.

Recommended Trailer Hitch and Accessories for Towing 5 x 8 Foot ATV Trailer with 2015 Toyota Venza
If all you'll ever use the hitch for is towing the trailer you described, the Curt Class II trailer hitch, part # C12341 would work great for you. This hitch uses the smaller 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. You also need the ball mount # C45521, pin and clip # F-4, and a 1-7/8 inch ball # A-80 or a 2 inch ball, part # A-82. What is the Purpose of Using a Stabilizer Strap on a Curt Hitch with a Bike Rack
Any time you use a bike rack or a hitch mounted carrier you will want to use a support strap like the Curt Stabilizer Strap # 18050, failure to do so could cause damage to the hitch and would void the warranty for the hitch also. The strap will provide extra support for the hitch and will help to reduce the amount of vertical shock that the bike rack would put on the hitch when going over bumps. How To Read a Metric Bolt Specification
There really isn't any mechanical difference between those two bolts, one is just slightly longer than the other. When reading a metric bolt specification, the 3rd number indicates the length of the bolt, so I can't imagine the 4mm difference making a huge difference between the M10 x 1.25 x 36 and M10 x 1.25 x 40 bolts. Does The Curt Trailer Hitch 13356 For A Toyota Venza Stick Past The Bumper More Than The C12341?
Both the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 13356 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Class II # C12341 measure 3-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the most outward part of the rear bumper, so both will stick out exactly the same amount. Between these options I recommend the # 13356 as it does not require a stabilizing strap when using non-trailer loads, and it also has a 2" receiver which gives you a lot more options when it comes to accessories now...

I would recommend you get a Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75663. This hitch does not require the use of a stabilizer strap when a bike rack is installed so you would not have to worry about installing one with damaging your spoiler. Troubleshooting Hitch Bolts That Wont Thread Into Weld Nuts on 2012 Toyota Venza
If you haven't already, I would recommend taking a nylon brush and some spray lubricant like the LubriMatic # L11474 and clean out the weld nut holes on your Curt # C12341 hitch. There could be some built up rust, dirt or other debris that is clogging up the holes and keeping you from getting them into the holes-these should thread by hand at the start. If you've already tried this step, please let me know and I can recommend some alternative steps.

Will the Kuat Beta Bike Rack Fit a Curt Class II Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Toyota Venza
Yes, you can use the Kuat Alpha bike rack # B202-114 with the Curt trailer hitch # C12341 on your 2013 Toyota Venza. I have linked a video review of this rack for you. It is an excellent choice since the rack weighs so little, only about 13 pounds! Curt does require the use of a stabilization strap, # 18050, for non-trailer loads when using the hitch with a bike rack to be in compliance with their warranty. To avoid contact with the spoiler on your 2011 Toyota Venza you can connect the Stabilizing Strap # 18050 to the safety chain loop on the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C12341 and then loop it around the Yakima HoldUp # Y02445 bike tray that is closest to your trunk.
