Troubleshooting Hitch Bolts That Wont Thread Into Weld Nuts on 2012 Toyota Venza
Updated 04/29/2020 | Published 04/28/2020 >
Question:
The bolts received with hitch dont seem to fit the welded nuts on my 2012 Venza. I dont want to force them and cross thread. I tried the hardware store going down in size to a 8mm but it slips right through the nut. Suggestions?

If you haven't already, I would recommend taking a nylon brush and some spray lubricant like the LubriMatic # L11474 and clean out the weld nut holes on your Curt # C12341 hitch. There could be some built up rust, dirt or other debris that is clogging up the holes and keeping you from getting them into the holes-these should thread by hand at the start.
If you've already tried this step, please let me know and I can recommend some alternative steps.
