Haul Light Loads Without the Hassle: Class I 1-1/4" Receiver for Everyday Towing

This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is made for small jobs and weekend adventures. With a 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening, 1,500 lbs maximum gross trailer weight, and 150 lbs maximum tongue weight, it’s right at home pulling a small utility trailer or lightweight cargo setup. The round-tube design gives it a clean look under the bumper, and the visible cross tube keeps it simple and functional. It’s a solid match for light towing or carrying accessories like a bike rack or cargo carrier within its weight range.

Skip the Welding Shop: Bolt-On Installation with Included Hardware

You don’t need special tools or a lift to get this hitch mounted. It’s a no-weld, bolt-on design built to line up with existing attachment points. The complete hardware kit and installation instructions are included so you can get it done in your own driveway. The precision, robotic welding on the hitch ensures everything fits together just the way it should once bolted in place.

Keep It Looking Good: Gloss Black Powder Coat Over Protective Base

The fully welded steel construction is finished with a gloss black powder coat layered over a protective base coat for excellent rust resistance. That finish not only keeps the hitch looking sharp but also helps it stand up to road grime, salt, and moisture over time. The result is a hitch that stays strong and looks clean through seasons of regular use.

Arrived well packaged, with all the parts. The instructions for my car were printed out, which was very helpful. The instructions also did a good job of anticipating some challenges and providing guidance. It was a straightforward install. Took me about an hour, by myself in a home garage using only a floor jack.

Hey Anthony. I'm happy to hear that the install went so smoothly. What are you going to be using the hitch with?

by:
Product was not sized right for Mazda 2. On the passenger side, the pre-drilled holes for the bolts were about one-half inch short of the corresponding holes in the Mazda frame. As a result I had to take the trailer hitch to a tool and die shop to extend the holes at a cost of $35.00 (making a U-shape opening that allowed the bolts to be secured). Since I only use the trailer hitch as a bicycle carrier, this does not compromise safety, and in all other respects the trailer hitch is excellent.
by:
This installed better and easier than I thought it would. I honestly did run into a little snag trying to figure out how to feed the spacers into the frame. I HIGHLY recommend watching the ETrailer install video they have on YouTube. I did that when I had the problem, and was able to get the solution I needed and had the hitch installed under an hour.

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2011 Mazda 2 for a Bike Carrier
Trailer hitch # C11073 does not have the stop in the shank to prevent the installation of Class II accessories. The stop on other issues is a safety feature that prevents someone from accidently overloading the hitch. Also, on a Class I hitch, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum. This is because of the additional distance a 3rd and subsequent bikes are from the receiver. It puts too much leverage on the hitch and can damage it and the vehicle. To use your Class II bike carrier you can...

  • How To Lower Exhaust When Installing Curt Class I 1-1/4 Inch Hitch # C11073 on 2011 Mazda 2
To lower the exhaust on a vehicle when installing a hitch is not difficult if done correctly. The main thing is to lube the rubber hangars with WD-40 and that will allow the exhaust to be removed easily from the rubber hangars. I am including a couple of links to videos that will show you how we lower the exhaust in our installation facility. I am also including a link to the installation instructions on the Curt trailer hitch for your vehicle.

  • How Much Does The Curt Trailer Hitch C11073 For A 2014 Mazda 2 Weigh?
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11073 you were looking at for your 2014 Mazda 2 weighs in at 27lbs, and assuming the hitch is ordered by itself it will ship in a box that measures approximately 45" x 8" x 23". If you order other products with it a larger box may be used so that multiple boxes are not needed.

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Mazda 2
The Curt Hitch part # C11073 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit your 2015 Mazda 2 so I would recommend it for you. If you plan to carry a bike rack or cargo carrier you will also need the stabilizer strap part # 18050. The most popular bike rack we carry that has been confirmed to fit this vehicle is the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack part # S64670. This rack has a ton of positive reviews from our customers who have tried it. Check out the review video I attached for more info.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation to Carry Bikes on a 2012 Mazda2
On both the discontinued Hidden Hitch trailer hitch, 60286, and Curt hitch # C11073, the hitch receiver will be located directly below the rear fascia on the vehicle. You can see pictures of the Curt hitch installed on the vehicle in the instructions I have linked for you. Since you will be carrying bikes with this hitch you will need a bike rack that is compatible with a Class I trailer hitch. Class I trailer hitches can only carry up to 2 bikes maximum because the hitch cannot withstand...

  • Is Modification of the Body Bumper or Fascia Required to Install the # C11073 Hitch on 2011 Mazda 2
The installation instructions for the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C11073, indicate that no modification of the vehicle rear bumper or rear fascia is required for installation of the hitch. Vapor canister will need to be removed and reattached for hitch installation. There is a possibility that the carbon canister hose may contact the hitch bracket. If this occurs you will need to use pliers to bend the bracket and rotate the hose out of the way. Also, the exhaust must be temporarily lowered...

  • Does Curt Hitch for 2012 Mazda 2 Include Fishwire
Hey Jim! The Curt # C11073 comes with all of the hardware for installation, including the fishwire. Then for the wiring harness you need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # 56016. What will you be towing?

  • Could Curt Hitch for 2012 Mazda 2 Tow a Motorcycle Trailer with Kawasaki Ninja 250R
ThCurt trailer hitch part C11073 has a towing capacity of 1,500 lbs total trailer weight and 150 lbs tongue weight. If you were planning on towing your Ninja on a small trailer that weighed less than those capacities this would work well for you. You will need to check the owner's manual of your 2012 Mazda 2 though for towing capacities on the vehicle and be sure not to exceed the lower of the two figures. For a ball mount you would want part # 3593, for a ball part # 19256, and for trailer...

  • Will the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack Part # S64650 Fit a 2012 Mazda 2
Yes, the Swagman XC 2-Bike Rack part # S64650 will work with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11073 you have on your 2012 Mazda 2. However, in order to maintain Curt's warranty claim you will also need to use the support strap part # 18050 when attaching a bike rack or cargo carrier to this hitch. The Swagman XC is an excellent rack that will work well for most types of bikes. It has padded uprights to secure the bikes without damaging the frame and adjustable wheel hoops for use...
