Is there a Hidden Hitch That Can be Installed on 2004 Nissan Frontier King Cab

Updated 04/02/2026 | Published 03/29/2026

Question:

2004 Nissan Frontier XE King Cab Can this hitch be installed further forward on the frame to remain behind a roll pan? Do you have a hitch that would work as a hidden hitch on this truck?

Hi Jerry, I totally understand what you’re going for with the roll pan and wanting to keep everything clean and tucked up out of sight.

For your 2004 Nissan Frontier King Cab, the Curt hitch part # 13841 is the only confirmed fit available, and it is designed to sit below the bumper. Because of how it mounts to the frame and lines up with the factory mounting points, it can’t be moved further forward without running into fitment issues or requiring custom fabrication.

I also looked into other options, and unfortunately there isn’t a hidden or concealed style hitch available for this truck. I know that’s not ideal when you’re trying to keep that smooth roll pan look, but it really comes down to the frame design and how these hitches have to attach safely.

If keeping things fully hidden is a priority, the only real way to achieve that would be going with a custom fabricated hitch, but that would be outside of a bolt-on solution.

What are you planning to haul once you get everything set up, more like a small trailer, bikes, or something else?

Thanks for the quick response. I’m limited to 3500# towing with this vehicle so yes, probably just a small boat, trailer, or rental equipment. I think I will look into local custom hitches before abandoning the roll pan idea. Thanks again.

@JerryP Hi Jerry, that makes total sense, and honestly I think you’re on the right track. With that 3,500 lb range, you’ve got some flexibility, and a local fab shop may be able to build something that tucks up nicely behind the roll pan while still giving you the strength you need. It’s definitely the best route if keeping that clean look is a priority.
