Brad Hello neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at the Demco products locking hitch pin for a two inch trailer hitch receiver, and this is gonna be for a 5/8 hitch pin hole. Now, many accessories that you load up in your trailer hitch will actually come with a hitch pin and clip. But sometimes those aren't locking ones, so for instance, if we didn't have a locking hitch pin here, someone could actually just take our pin and clip out and take the ball mount with them. Having a locking one actually prevents that.
And you know that when your accessories are loaded up, they're gonna stay in place. Now, this is gonna be great for all accessories. But also, Demco is known for a lot of flat tow products. So, even if you're putting your tow bar in place and don't want that disappearing on your RV, this is gonna work great if you have that two inch receiver. Now, to get your pin and lock off, you actually get two keys, which is really nice.
That way, if you need one and you wanna keep a spare at home, no problem. You're simply gonna pull out this included cap, which is really nice to protect your actual keyhole. And that way, it's not gonna become corroded over time. And then a simple twist of the keys allows this to come out. Something else I did notice is they actually pre-lubricated this.
So, that's gonna be really nice to actually keep this from corroding over time as well. Plus with the addition of the cap, that should stay protected when it's actually latched up. Now, something that I really like about the pin itself is this nice, beveled edge. This makes it a lot easier to kind of feed your way through the ball mount and the hitch itself. Sometimes if they are square, you really have to perfectly align it.
This one actually kind of centers it up for you, allowing you to load into it no problem. Overall, this is a huge upgrade from your standard pin and clip because once you have this in place and locked, you can have that peace of mind knowing that no one's gonna walk away with this, or your bike rack, or cargo carrier, or anything else that you're putting into your hitch receiver. And really it's just the turn of the key to get it out, so it's pretty easy. In fact, this might actually be easier than putting a cotter pin through. So, I think this is one of those investments that you'll be happy that you have, knowing that peace of mind that your products are gonna stay here locked in place. And that was a look at the Demco products locking hitch pin and clip for two inch trailer hitch receiver..
