Heavy-Duty Construction
Because of its sturdy steel construction, this BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount can handle loads up to 22,000 lbs, making it perfect for heavy-duty towing jobs.
The adjustable channel is made of 5/16" thick, laser-cut steel plates. These steel plates can handle high capacities without bending. And because of the laser cutting, the channel plates have consistently sized pin holes, so you can easily remove or reposition the hitch ball platform.

A 1/2" thick steel gusset is welded between the shank and the channel, bracing the mount and keeping the channel from bending, even at the maximum drop or rise.
The solid steel shank is CNC -chamfered, making it easy to slide the shank into and out of your hitch receiver. And with no sharp edges on the shank, the powder coating is less likely to chip and peel.
Each adjustable mount includes a 2-ball platform, which fits in the adjustable channel. The 2 hitch balls are welded onto the solid steel platform for maximum strength and stability.
Finally, the pins and clips included with the ball mount are made of heat-treated steel to withstand the heavy weight from your load. The nickel undercoat with zinc topcoat provides corrosion resistance and ensures the strength of the pin.

Setting Up the BulletProof Ball Mount
To set up this BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount, insert the 3" x 3" shank into your hitch's receiver. Slide the 2-ball platform into the adjustable channel, then use the included pins and clips to secure the platform at the height you need. If you need to switch hitch balls, just remove the pins and clips, flip the ball platform over, and reinsert the pins and clips to secure the balls in place. It's that easy.
Because of this mount's significant drop, it's recommended that you install a stabilizer kit (358stabilizerbars - sold separately) to prevent any wobbling and to remove strain from your hitch receiver.
BulletProof Ball Mount Accessories
This BulletProof Hitches adjustable ball mount is compatible with a wide variety of accessories (sold separately). Instead of using the included ball to tow, you can install a weight distribution shank (358WEIGHTDIST) in the channel of the mount to attach your weight distribution system. Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this adjustable two ball mount from BulletProof Hitches. This is going to allow you to hook your trailer up to your tow vehicle. This will slide right into your three-inch by three-inch trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle. You can see, we do have these chamfered edges that are gonna make it very easy to get this slid into your receiver tube.
And then we're also going to have these two different sized balls that are going to allow you to hook up to trailers with different coupler sizes. So we've got a two-inch ball and a two and five sixteenth-inch ball. It's very easy to switch between those two, so if you're pulling a trailer with a two-inch ball coupler and you're needing to switch it out to pull a trailer with a two and five sixteenth, you just pull out those pins, flip it over, and then you can pass, line up the holes and pass those pins right through again so I can get it lined up properly, there we go. And this is also gonna be the way that we adjust our height setting so that we can accommodate trailers with different coupler heights. So very easy to switch from one trailer to another, make sure that you're gonna keep your trailer nice and level.
You've got a lot of adjustment capabilities here, nine different mounting positions. If we have it in the drop position, like it is here where it comes down from our hitch, if we moved our hitch ball to the lowest possible position we'd have a maximum drop from the top inside edge of our receiver tube down to our ball platform of seventeen and a quarter of an inch. We can also flip this over, use it in the rise position. If we move our ball to the highest point then it would give us a max rise of sixteen and a quarter of an inch. So whether your trailer coupler sits sixteen and a quarter of an inch higher than your hitch or seventeen and a quarter of an inch lower, this is going to give you the range that you need to make sure that your trailer's gonna stay nice and level and of course you have all those different settings in between those two extremes as well.
So this does have a heavy-duty steel construction. It's going to give us very durable usage. It's gonna hold up really well for us. Our channel frame here is five sixteenth of an inch thick, so it is gonna be very strong, gives us a nice a solid connection for our ball platform. Then our welded gusset plate here is going to be a half inch thick and so it's going to help brace our shank and our channel.
Our hitch balls are also welded onto the ball platform for extra sturdiness. So overall, if you're using your two-inch ball, you're going to have a gross towing weight of 12,000 pounds. If you're using your two and five sixteenth-inch ball, you'll have a gross towing weight of 22,000 pounds. Both balls have the same maximum tongue weight which is 3,000 pounds and so this will work for a large variety of trailers and needs as you go out. This does also have this matte black powder coat finish that's gonna resist corrosion and it looks pretty nice in my opinion, having kind of a textured matte finish to it. It will look really nice on the back of your truck. It weighs about 65 pounds so it's not unmanageable, but definitely not something that you're gonna want to have to put into your hitch and take out frequently, so it is nice that this ball mount is so easy to move up and down so that we can accommodate those different trailers. One thing that's not included is gonna be your hitch pin and clip to secure this to your truck's hitch. You likely already have one that you use for your other hitch mount accessories, but if not, it is just your standard five eights diameter hitch pin. We also have locking pins available here. So we have regular pins and then locking pins if you need either one of those, add a little extra security, make sure that your investment is gonna stay on your vehicle when you're not around. We also have a detailed diagram of the different measurements for this available on the product page, so if you have any questions about whether this will fit for your application or not, be sure to check that out but one measurement I do wanna make sure to give you is gonna be your clearance. So you can see, clearance is right about eighteen and a quarter of an inch. So make sure that will work for you. This is SAE J684 certified, so you can trust, meets those high quality standards. It's gonna do a good job for you. I bought this hitch just under one year. To date, the hitch has performed fine. HOWEVER, the cheap powder coating has turned the entire hitch into a an eyesore. Its just rusting like mad, and the powder coat is now flaking in large chunks. Looks like crap on the back of the truck. I don't even live in an area where salt accumulates or they use it on the roadway.

This is not common as the hitch is covered with a high quality powder coat. If you ever get any paint chips or scratches on this ball mount, we recommend using a rust-oleum type of paint to cover those scratches. That will help with any corrosion as time goes on. The bulletproof hitch is a really good unit. I have used it now for over two months to pull a sixteen foot cargo trailer using the larger ball. Towed locally and from northern NY to Florida and back, so I'd say at least 5,000 miles. I like the easy to adjust height in order to tow the trailer level. It doesn't seem to cause any clunking because of movement - if that makes sense. I did clear-coat the unit to help it stay looking decent for the long-term and that seems to be working so far. The main piece stays locked in the truck receiver all the time while I remove the double-ball unit when not in use. I would buy this unit again in a heartbeat.

My Opinion Hasnt Changed, the hitch is Great! Main use now is a center console and a pontoon boat. Both boats are twenty footers. The hitch is over-kill for the load, but the variable height capability of the hitch allows for easier launches at the ramp. We use different ramps and each ramp has a different angle into the water.

Love the hitch. It is stout and that is why I purchased it in the first place. I have zero worries about damaging the hitch even though Im using it as a 10 inch rise thus there is a lot of strain on it. Im pulling a 32 foot bumper pull trailer over very rough roads.

Made in USA. Heavy Duty Build. I just wish the tolerances were tighter, like on the height adjustment pins, they are loose which makes a lot of thumping, They do not need to be that sloppy. I will say, this hitch is holding up well. The Ball fell off the "Fastway Flash" hitch I had before, where the ball broke out of the casting.
And, this hitch is not nearly heavy as the "Fastway Flash" hitch.

Outstanding, extremely heavy duty, great textured finish. This Bullet Proof Hitch (MD206) 2-Ball Mount is hands down top shelf quality. And made in USA!! Note; If purchasing receiver locks, save a few bucks and buy the etrailer e98881 3-5/8" span lock instead of the Infinite brand 3-7/8" locks. The etrailer lock secures with 3-1/2 turns from key for a perfect tight fit.
No doubt would recommend!! Will not be diappointed.

I purchased the 2-1/2" Bulletproof Adj Ball Mount for my 2019 RAM 2500 (Laramie, 4WD, 20" Rims&Tires, Off-Road Suspension) to have 1 mount for various trailers. This replaces various 2" mounts used on my 01 Silverado 2500. This is one serious, substantial piece of equipment! Heavy, good welds, nice powder coating! Pix compares this mount with a 7500# 2" Draw-tite mount. Nothing wrong with the Draw-tite, but no comparison in mass.
Some measurements, if interested: Truck: inside top of Receiver: 25" above grade. Bottom of mount without balls: 9-3/4" above grade (clearance). With 2-5/16" ball up: At lowest point: Top of Ball: 17" above grade. bottom of 2" ball: 9-1/4" above grade (clearance). At highest point: Top of Ball: 26-7/8" above grade. With 2" Ball up: At lowest point: Top of Ball: 16-1/2" above grade; bottom of 2-5/16" ball: 8-3/4" above grade (clearance). At highest point: Top of Ball: 26-1/2" above grade.

Awesome product. Wish I knew how to measure what size I needed before I bought it though, I think I may have bought too big of a drop. I have a Ram 2500 w/3" lift and 35" tires. Thought this was right, but, its a little low and I have to be careful pulling out of parking lots and low points.

Have used this many times over the last year. It is nice to always have the right ball size and offset no matter what I haul. Two things I've done to improve my experience. I machined a small plate to wedge between the ball unit and receiver yoke to remove slop and rattle. If the trailer is light and bounces a lot, this is nice to have. I also cut off the bottom hole as there is no trailer that has needed this much offset, plus it was too close to the ground (2020 Ram 1500 4WD) for comfort. This was done precisely with a bandsaw and then ground smooth, radiused and painted. You can not tell it has been altered. I am very happy with this hitch and have recommended it to friends.

We couldn't get a uhaul when escaping Oregon because so many people are leaving the state. We ended up buying two cargo trailers and doing the move to Texas in 3 trips. The hitch worked with no problems. Hitch is on a 2018 Ram 2500HD. This hitch is the swiss army knife of hitches. Any configuration you need this hitch can do it.
