Durable Construction

The lock is constructed of extruded, tempered aluminum, making it strong and durable. The lock housing features a double nickel chrome finish, and the shuttered keyhole protects the inside of the lock from the elements. Complete with a silver powder coat finish, this coupler lock is attractive, sturdy, and rust resistant.

Quick, Simple Operation

To install this lock on your coupler, insert the key and rotate it to release the locking pin. Slide the lock body onto the flat lip of your trailer coupler. Push the locking pin into the hitch ball socket to engage, rotate the key back to lock the pin in place, and remove the key.

easily installed. gives me more confidence in its effectiveness than the more commonly "universal" used ball type that I have "retired. The appearance of your lock should also distract thieves. I really should have purchased the yellow option.

A good, dependable lock! I researched all types of coupler locks, including all of the high-end locks. ALL can be compromised. This is one of the better types, with little/no spaces to insert a pry bar. I have used it for about a year now and have no regrets.

This is a great trailer lock. It is so simplistic, light weight and perfectly constructed at the same time. I feel this will definitely deter would-be thieves.

Provides a small measure of security for a reasonable price. I've heard that professional boat thieves in Florida show up with angle grinders and make short work of locks like this, but so far no one has stolen my trailer.

We live and work in MN and with the weather we deal with here we have had a few of them freeze up and were not able to remove them even if we thaw them out, as a result we have to smash them off and break them so we can use the trailer that it was installed on....

Purchased to secure my vintage Avion travel trailer. I have invested some money and labor in it and don’t want it to disappear! The lock fits the original coupler with a little side to side play. I have a couple of options that would work for you. If the trailer is sitting around not coupled to anything, and you're wanting to prevent an unauthorized person from coupling it and driving off, use # e98894. If you're wanting to prevent the trailer from being uncoupled from a hitch, use # e98888. This lock will also prevent the trailer from being coupled, but I find the # e98894 to be more secure. The Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - Zinc - 2-5/16" Ball - 3" Channel - Bolt On - 18K # DM13203-95 has an integrated 5/16 inch pin hole with a 3 inch span for that lockable feature. I recommend using the Trailer Coupler Lock # e98888 which has a 3-3/8 inch span and is 1/4 inch diameter. I can absolutely explain how the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock for your flat lip coupler works, and it is extremely simple. What happens is you will slide the lock over your flat lip coupler, and push the pin up - it won't take any strength at all, you can do it with a finger. Typically a coupler like the Trailer Coupler for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailers # Y08123 would be secured with a lock like the etrailer Trailer Coupler Lock # e98894. This is typically enough to deter theft. Removal of a coupler and installation of another to steal a trailer is not typically a problem. The Demco EZ Latch Couplers like the part # DM16680-52 have lips on them which is why the AMPLock Trailer Coupler Lock for 2-5/16" Ball Couplers w/o Lip # AMP34FR is not going to work as it's designed for couplers without a lip. I may have a solution for you, but those MasterLock trailer locks you were looking at unfortunately cannot be keyed alike, so you'd need some different options. For the coupler locks I recommend using the etrailer 2-5/16" coupler lock # e98894 or etrailer 1-7/8" or 2" coupler lock # e98893. For the latch lock I recommend using the etrailer # e98885 and for the locking hitch pins I recommend using the # e98882. You could have all of these parts keyed alike so you'd only need 1 key.

Our etrailer.com locks can be keyed alike as long as you order them on one order. You need the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, # e98881, for the hitch on your 2011 GMC Sierra. The inside width at 3-5/8 inches is long enough to compensate for the thick steel used on the OEM hitch. For a coupler lock part # e98894 fits a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball.
