When brakes retain heat, they are more likely to experience brake fade, or loss of braking power. DeeMaxx addresses this problem by incorporating drainage holes in the hat section of each rotor to provide even more ventilation than other brands. It offers great corrosion protection, even with occasional use in saltwater. Rust-resistant coatings are graded according to a salt spray rating. Basically, this rating shows the amount of time it takes for a material to show signs of corrosion when exposed to pure, continuous salt spray. Zinc plating typically begins to deteriorate after about 100 hours. Dacromet usually lasts for around 300 to 400 hours. DeeMaxx's Maxx coating lasts for more than 1,000 hours in the salt spray test.
The environment this test creates is much harsher than anything you'll ever experience in your journeys, but it provides a testament to how well DeeMaxx brakes resist rust and corrosion.

Save Time and Money
More and more people are switching their trailers over to disc brakes. Not only do disc brakes provide more controlled braking than drum brakes, but they also save you money by having fewer parts to maintain.
Unlike drum brakes, which have springs, magnets, and shoes that may need to be continually adjusted or replaced, disc brakes are virtually maintenance-free. There are no springs, cables, or other little components that you'll need to worry about failing.
The brake pads will naturally wear down, so eventually you'll have to replace them. But these pads are also way easier to replace than drum brake shoes. And the caliper - where the pads are housed - is located on the outside of the brake assembly. This means you just have to remove that one part to replace the brake pads rather than having to remove the entire assembly like you would with drum brakes.

A slip-on rotor may be easier to install initially, but water can find its way between the rotor and your existing hub, causing uneven rotor wear or runout. If you want to remount your existing wheels after installing these brakes, you'll need a kit that offers the same bolt pattern. To determine the bolt pattern, count the number of bolt holes (or lug nuts) on your trailer's wheel. This will give you the first number in the pattern. To find the second number, just measure the distance between a bolt hole and the bolt hole across from it.
For example, on wheels with an even number of bolt holes: 6 on 5-1/2" means 6 bolt holes with 5-1/2" from the center of 1 hole to the center of the hole across from it.
And with an odd number of bolt holes: 5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" from the center of 1 hole to the farthest edge of one of the 2 farthest bolt holes.

Today we're gonna take a look at the D-Max 13-inch threaded hub and rotor assembly kit with the 8 on 6.5 inch bolt pattern, the 9/16 inch diameter studs for 8,000 pound axles. And these have a Max coating and a stainless finish. Now, this kit here will let you upgrade your trailer from drum to disc brakes for superior performance. We mentioned the threaded hubs on it.
They're mostly used in oil bath axles, and this part. or this kit will include everything laid out here on the table. We'll start with the hub and rotors. It's two Max-coated cast iron threaded hub and rotor assemblies, and on the inside, they have the bearing races already pre-installed. Comes with the two inner bearings, the two outer bearings, the two oil seals, the two threaded oil caps that would thread into the outside of the hub right there.
And the lug nuts are included. You can see a total of 16 9/16 by 18 lug nuts, two stainless steel calipers with brake pads and bolts, and over here are two Max-coated caliper mounting brackets. Now, this kit does require a hydraulic brake actuator that's rated at 1,500 PSI or above, and brake lines to activate your brakes. Those items we do sell separate on our website. Now, the hub and rotors, these are a one-piece hub and rotor assemblies, so they do reduce the chance of uneven rotor wear.
If I turn this here, you'll be able to see on the sides, has a vented design to it. That's to dissipate heat faster, prevent premature brake pad wear. And also on the hat section of the hub and rotor assembly, you'll see the holes. These are drainage holes in the hat section that allow the water to drain easily, further minimize any corrosion. it's excellent for occasional use in salt water areas with a lot of snow slush or road salt. We mentioned the Max coat finish that's on the hub and rotors. It's also on the caliper mounting brackets. They have a salt spray rating of over a thousand hours. We mentioned the calipers themselves. They're stainless steel, they are rust-proof. This does offer dramatically shorter stopping distances and smooth controlled braking. Now, I did want to show you the brake pads. They're in the calipers already. Flip it over, you can see there are ceramic brake pads to increase the stopping power. And the piston that's on the inside that applies those brake pads, it's a stainless steel piston that's a 2.25 inch diameter. This will provide fast responsive braking. And this kit requires minimal maintenance, saving you time and money. Actually, if you even look on the outside of the caliper, they do laser-etched instructions on the caliper to take the guesswork out of installing the brakes and bleeding the brakes. Now, this kit does fit the Dexter 8,000 pound axles with the number 42 spindle. The wheel size that'll fit on this is 16 inches and larger. We mentioned the bolt pattern is 8 on 6.5 inches. Stud diameter is 9/16 of an inch. The rotor diameter itself is 13 inches. And if you look at the caliper mounting brackets right here, you'll notice the four holes in it. It is designed to fit a four-bolt brake flange configuration that's on your axle. But that should do it for a look at the D-Max 13 inch threaded hub and rotor assembly kit with the 8 on 6.5 inch bolt pattern, the 9/16 inch studs for 8,000 pound axles.
