Tech Tip: 60-6 Wear Sleeve is no longer available. A 10-36 seal can be used as a replacement without a wear sleeve, if the original wear sleeve is damaged or missing.

Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Trailer Hub Oil Seal, 3.376" OD, 2.375" ID

Today were going to review part number 10-48. This is the Redline Trailer Hub Oil Seal. This oil seal is designed for the older style 8000-lb axles. It is designed to be used with a 60-6 wear sleeve. Basically the wear sleeve is a very thin metal sleeve that would fit over the spindle and would fit on the inside of the oil seal right here. That wear sleeve is no longer available so if you happen to have the wear sleeve on your spindle and you do want to replace the oil seal, you can use this one.

Now if you no longer have that wear sleeve or it is damaged then you can actually use a 10-36 oil seal as a replacement. Now a few measurements on this, the overall or outer diameter on this seal is 3.376. The inner diameter which is measured across here would be 2.375. Now if you go to the product page for this oil seal, youll see a chart and that chart will list the different manufacturers of oil seals and their part number which will coincide with this oil seal. That should do it for a review on part number 10-48..

Rare seal, had in stock, fast shipping

These are heavy duty seals as compared to the ones I had on the dexter axles I have on my trailer. They should last longer with the double seal. Grease was leaking from two of the old seals which could possibly cause trouble with the brakes. Can only give 4 stars until I give these a couple years of use. If they are holding up next time I repack the bearings, then a 5th star would be appropriate.

After a year, still no issues. I believe these parts will hold up for years to come. Now I believe a 5 star rating for quality parts and service is warranted

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Oil Seal
I can tell you how to determine the correct replacement oil seal, though we don't have a way to know the seal that is on your Keystone Springdale 295 BHLG. What you need to do is measure the diameter of the spindle where the seal rides using a digital caliper that can measure to the thousandth (3 decimal places). You can use the diagram I added below to see where you need to measure for the seal. So for example, if you measured 2.375 inches you would use the Trailer Hub Oil Seal # 10-48. I...
