Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Bulldog Winch Heavy-Duty Recovery Strap w/Reinforced Loop Ends

Today we'll be taking a look at the Bulldog Winch Heavy-Duty Recovery Strap with Reinforced Loop Ends. This is going to be a great recovery strap for you. It can also be used as a winching strap. We'll have these reinforced ends to help protect against any kind of breakage or wear. So they'll be a nice stiff cord. The fabric that they used for this rope, or for this strap, is a heavy-duty polyester. As you can see, there's a little keeper strap there to keep it all nice and tidied up whenever we have it in storage, and then we can just take that off. Both ends are going to be identical.

So I have this one at the end to show you, nice wide opening to get our other end looped through, or a hook on the end. How ever you're going to be using it. There's also a little sleeve going here to protect any surface that you might loop this around. Whether that's a tree or another stable object to winch your way out of the ditch that you find yourself in.Now the strap is 30' long by 3" wide. It has a break strength of 30,000 lbs, and working load limit of 10,000 lbs.

it's made of a low to no-stretch material, so even when I pull on it, really doesn't want to stretch at all. It's great for any kind of recovery application. That little cord is sewn into the fabric so we don't have to worry about keeping track of this. It's just part of the system, so we can get that tidied up and make for a more compact strap overall. So we can just loop that around and keep our strap together. And that's going to do it for our look at the Bulldog Winch Heavy-Duty Recovery Strap with Reinforced Loop Ends.

haven't used it yet but seems to be a good tow strap

Great product! Large load capacity not like smaller wimpy straps.

This is part of my UTV gear. Always need to good solid tow strap for those sticky situations.

Everything just as I ordered it and I got it sooner than I thought and just before I headed out of town on a jeep trip where I hope I don't have to use the tow straps and cinch bones but I will be glad I have them. The tire cover fit just right on my trailer spare. Thank you very much. Pleasure doing business with you.

Great quality product . Easy to install. I used portaband saw to cut to length. Used pre drilled holes and used a standard hole saw where I needed extra holes, along with standard drill bits. The material drills and cuts perfectly. Nice quality product. This was being used to replace my work out bumper on my horse trailer. Looks like oem replacement .

Good heavy-duty tow strap. This strap coils up great and doesn't take up much room in my pickup. I dont have to worry about this strap breaking and the length is good, too. Plus the color is nice, blue is my favorite color so its something I will treasure and hand down to my children. The only problem is you need a second vehicle on the other end of the strap; I can only drive one vehicle at a time so its a bit of a challenge when I get stuck in the mud. I pulled and pulled on this thing, my arms got tired but the strap still looks like new.

  • Are Soft Shackles or D-Ring Shackles Better
Hi Mark; I would get a soft shackle like the Bulldog Winch Rope Shackle - Synthetic - Army Green - 8" Loop Diameter - 15,000 lbs # BDW26FR. Soft shackles are better for attaching to a vehicle and you don't have to worry about damage/harm if there is some sort of failure. I'll take synthetic rope flying at me or my rig over a chunk of metal any day.

  • Does Bulldog Winch Heavy-Duty Recovery Strap BDW20030 Stretch
I checked with Bulldog Winch and their 30-foot strap # BDW20030 has less than 5% stretch so they consider it a "no stretch" strap. I do understand the distinction you're making but we use the same "recovery strap" terminology that Bulldog Winch uses for this item. Many of our "tow straps" like # H10175 include hooks.

  • Can the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver be Used for Recovery of a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31033 has a line pull strength of 9,000 lbs. Since your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit has a curb weight between 4,725 lbs and 4,955 lbs this hitch can be used for recovery. Typically a winch like part # BDW10042 is used for recovery purposes. If you don't have a winch then you can use a hitch ball with a tow hook like the Curt # C45675 and some recovery straps like part # BDW20030.

  • Comparison of Bulldog # BDW20030 and Erickson # EM59800 Heavy-Duty Recovery Straps
Both of the recovery straps you referenced, Bulldog # BDW20030 and Erickson # EM59800, are 3-inch x 30-foot straps with reinforced ends, but between the two I would go for the Bulldog since it offers a slightly higher break strength rating of 30K versus the Erickson's 27K.

  • What is the Difference Between a Tow/Recovery Strap and a Snatch Strap
The difference between the recovery and tow straps has to do with how the manufacturer designed it. Some of them have hooks instead of loops for the vehicles, some of them are retractable, and some of them use more chain than material. I have attached a link to our selection of straps that you can filter through to choose the best one for your towing needs. You will want to choose a strap that has the correct length and weight capacity for what you are trying to tow. Although some of the...
