Hello, neighbors and friends. I'm Steven here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look together at this Gorilla Sliding Ratchet Strap Set with S-hooks on the ends. They're an inch and a quarter wide by 16 feet long. They're rated at 1000 pounds working load limit, and a maximum load or break strength of 3000 pounds. Now these ratcheting tie down straps with the sliding ratchets are gonna secure your gear in the truck bed or trailer, or whatever you're, you know, wherever you're tying stuff down in.
The steel ratchets, like I said, they slide anywhere along the webbing. That's a simple operation. I'm gonna zoom in here so you can see it better. There's a little orange guy here on both sides. That tab can actually go up and over when it's loose like this.
And basically, when it's loose like it is now, you can slide the ratchet over, let's say closer to the hook over here. We wanna avoid something, we can slide it over. Simply pull that back down, lock it in place. Pull the extra webbing out. And now when we ratchet, we're now closer to this side of the hook.
So same principle. If I wanna loosen that, I'd just simply loosen some of the strap, kick that guy over. Now I can get farther away from my S-hook. So again, very nice design, very simple to use. Now I wanna show you this thick polyester webbing.
It's very nice. It's been PVC coated. The edges, as you can see, have that black stitching that makes them a little bit more durable and more abrasion resistant. Now a neat feature that I like on these guys is on the S-hooks, these are made, number one, out of a hardened steel. They've been vinyl coated. That way they're gonna prevent scratching and tearing up your gear. But they got this nice little orange plastic cap. That is a safety cap. It's gonna prevent the hook from disconnecting from your anchor points during installation. So a lot of times we hook something, we try to rush over to the other side of the trailer, truck bed, whatever, and this guy falls off, right Well, with this safety hook cap, all you gotta do is put the cap on there after you've went around what you're doing. And if it even gets loose, it can't fall off now. It's still gonna be up there. Whenever you do pull your strap tight from the other side, now it's holding on to the spot. So very nice feature. Again, all the material here is a black powder coated hardened steel. Very nice operation. Certainly tightens everything up. Spring loaded release mechanism. And like I said, once you get this loose, then you could also move that strap. So you wanna make sure this is in the locked position whenever you're using it. So before you start ratcheting down, make sure that's in the locked position, and it is molded into the plastic and on the steel itself. Another cool feature is whenever you got all your webbing and everything, let's say wound up here, it's got a hook and loop strap here that you could go around everything and keep everything nice and tight, so it's not flapping in the wind and that kind of stuff. So that's a nice feature as well. And lastly, you get this nice hard plastic case. It's a two piece case, top and bottom. Very hard, heavy duty, durable construction. All the straps fit back inside of there nice and neat. So you can get them out of the way whenever you're storing them. You can put them in your toolbox, the bed of your truck. Maybe the cargo spot of your vehicle, or even a cargo area inside your RV or camper. Well folks, I think that's gonna wrap it up for our straps here today. My name again is Steven. Thanks for looking at these one and a quarter inch wide by 16 feet straps. Have a great day.
