Multiple Stacked Receivers for Easy Adjustment

stacked receivers

This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 5 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.

pintle hitch

Also included is a pintle lock, which can be inserted into the receiver directly above the ball mount to create a pintle hitch for hooking up a trailer with a lunette ring. Unlike other adjustable pintle hooks on the market, there are no nuts and bolts to remove and retorque when you change the positioning of this hitch. Just move the ball mount and pintle lock up or down to get the proper height and secure them in place with the included pins.

With the 5 stacked receivers, not only do you have the ability to adjust the height of the included ball mount, but you also have the ability to add various other hitch-mounted accessories. Insert a bike rack or cargo carrier. Mount a spare tire carrier. Use a tow bar to flat tow your vehicle. Or just add a fun hitch cover.

This is a really solid product. The craftsmanship is great and it is American made. I'll never need to purchase another hitch.

The service from Etrailer was also great. The product arrived ahead of schedule.

The hitch is still fantastic. Ive used it to tow a variety of trailers 1000s of miles combined. I also like the fact that I can use the stacked receivers as a hitch extension to carry bike racks and cargo baskets.

Excellent product , we highly recommend exactly as shown and described and it is awesome.

Just received my new hitch and my first impressions is that this is a very stout hitch. The hitch is very heavy, so I won’t be taking it off and on much. I’ll leave the stacked receiver on the truck, I had a locking pin to secure it to the truck. I will store the 2-ball mount in the cab for now until I get some locking pins. Don’t want to become a victim of theft! When I obtain the locking pins, I will leave the balls attached. If you want a very stout adjustable hitch, I definitely recommend this Gen-Y hitch. Can’t wait to test it out on the road!

I wanted to be able to tow any trailer with a single hitch and that is why I purchased this model. Any size ball and pintle hitch all in one implement is great.... the drawback, this thing weights a lot. I don't like leaving the hitch on the truck if I'm not towing, but this thing is too heavy to move and I'm worried about this much weight bending the toolbox on the truck if I hit a bump.

For measurement purposes... This is a 2000 F-350 4x4 on stock 16" rims and tires and a CM flatbed. I got the 5" drop\rise model and it looks like it is going to be great. In case i need it, I added the 1 7/8" ball to the drawbar. When I can afford to get three matched key pins I will order them.

The Gen-Y hitch is a beast and should last forever. It weights approx 55 lbs. Haven’t had a chance to use it yet and I hope that it doesn’t rust like I have seen in some reviews on YouTube etc. My big disappointment is the fact that it does not take my 2 1/2” to 2” sleeve (the 2 ball mount is 2 1/2”) so I can use another hitch with it to move a small trailer that rides lower than this hitch goes. I even talked to someone at Gen-Y to verify that it would work. They said it would. IT DOES NOT. To much pain to send it back. I’m sure I would have to pay shipping.

by:

It’s heavy duty. I think it weighs as much as my equalizer hitch. I just got a new truck so we’ll see on a hitch height but on my old truck I wish I’d gotten the hitch with one height up so I had more adjustment and so it’s off hitting the ground. Oh well I tried guessing. I should of listened to the spirit. But a great heavy duty hitch.

by:

Overall the hitch is heavy duty and solid. I have ready some reviews about the Pintle option and have used mine for the first time towing an empty trailer. It is showing some wear behind the ball where the wedge is welded. I will try it with a load and see how it holds up.
i hate to give a negative review but for the money it should not have that excessive amount of wear with it’s first use.
I have a curt hitch with the Pintle and it has worked perfectly. I was looking for something that had a better curb appeal with the Gen Y.

Love this hitch receiver, best quality. Super fast shipping

by:

This thing is robust! It has handled everything I've hooked to.

by:

The best hitch you can buy! I run these in my company trucks. Makes connecting to anything we have simple and easy. No searching for lost hitches or figuring out who is using what.

by:

Excellent hitch for the money. Great versatility and options. Built super stout. Never going to buy anything else but GenY.

by:

Best hitch on the market . I have them on 33 trucks

by:

best hitch I've owned. I have no doubt it will pull any of our equipment with no problem. odelelia was a big help and so nice when I ordered it a year ago.

by:

I used adjustable ball mount to haul a tow dolly and also carry a hitch haul with wood. It worked great.

by:

I just installed the Gen-Y and its way better than my last one (much more stout). I put it on a 2011 f350 with a leveling kit on 35s and Im defiantly glad that I got one with the 7 inch drop. Im also going to be putting it on a Kubota M-120 to pull a 12ft box scraper.

by:

Heavy duty, strong and reliable. The black color on the ball scratched off fairly quickly, and the additional length of the hitch may keep some safety chains from reaching the vehicle. These are just things I noticed, but the quality of the hitch is tremendous.

Bought this product from etrailer and was amazed at the high level of customer service and knowledge. The product arrived ahead of schedule and was packaged well. This product is made well and I’m glad it’s a product of the USA.

by:

No doubt it's "mega duty". Thing weighs 54 lbs. I don't know if its worth the money but I'd say its probably the best hitch you could get!

by:

Very good but could of added 1 more pin for the pintle.

by:

This is a very functional and versatile hitch. Incidentally, the extended horizontal length allows me to drop my tailgate and not hit my trailer jack. The only theoretical downside is the increased torque on the receiver because of the horizontal extension inherent with the hitch design, as well as the massive weight. these issues do not seem to be functionally relevant however. Pintle may come in handy someday. I would buy again.

by:

Very strong hitch

by:

We love these hitches so much we’re replacing all we have in the fleet with the Gen-Y. Etrailer’s customer service is the reason we don’t shop anywhere else.

by:

Another great purchase with etrailer. Fastest shipping and the same price as the lowest competitor.

  • 10 Rise Adapter Needed to Tow 3,500 lb Pintle Hook Trailer

  • Can the Gen-Y 10 Adjustable 2-Ball Mount Be Used for Towing and a Hitch Carrier
The Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount part # 325-GH-325 can be used for both towing and hitch mounted accessories at the same time. That said, the ball mount would likely need to be in one of the bottom two holes with the hitch mounted accessory in the top. In regards to weight, it has a very high 1,500 lb rating so as long as the tongue weight of the trailer and weight of the hitch mounted accessory are below this you will be fine. It's built like a tank so you should not have any concerns...

  • Recommended Ball Mount with Long Shank and 10 Inch Drop with 2 Hitch Balls
The Flash Solid Steel Adjustable 2-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 10" Drop, 11" Rise - 12K # FA49-00-5900 you mentioned has a distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch ball of 9 inches so part of your coupler would still be under your rear bumper. My recommendation for you is the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2" Hitch - 10" Drop/Rise - 10K # 325-GH-325. This ball mount has a measurement from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center...

  • Recommended Ball Mount for Towing a Trailer and Hauling a Bike Rack
Trailer's couplers and hitch balls are considered level when they are within 2"-3" of height. You are correct the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount item # D210 will drop down 2-1/4" and put the top of the item # A-90 hitch ball right at 17-3/4". This set up may work but I wouldn't recommend it. You will want your trailer as level as possible and this will have your nose down quite a bit. All of the multipurpose mounts have the same 2-1/4" drop. Instead you will want to use the Gen-Y Adjustable...
