If you want your setup to look clean when you’re not towing, this base plate kit keeps it that way. The hidden design leaves no bulky crossbar or brackets in sight, and the removable arms detach in seconds. Snap-in receiver covers protect the sockets from dirt and debris so the arms slide in and out smoothly every time you hook up. The end result is a tidy, factory-style look that doesn’t get in the way when you’re walking around the front of your vehicle.
Connecting your tow bar shouldn’t take all afternoon. With the twist-lock attachment, each arm slides in, twists to secure, and locks into place without fuss. No tools or awkward alignment needed—it’s quick, solid, and easy to manage on your own. When it’s time to disconnect, just twist and release. It’s a simple system that makes hitching up less of a chore, whether you’re in your driveway or at a campsite.
If you already have a tow bar setup you like, this base plate won’t make you start over. It works directly with Blue Ox, Demco Kwik-Tow, Curt Rambler, and etrailer tow bars—no adapter needed. For Roadmaster users, just add the correct adapter (e98983, e98984, e98979, or e98981, sold separately) to match your specific model. This flexibility makes it easy to keep using your existing gear without extra parts or guesswork.
This kit bolts onto existing attachment points with solid construction that spreads towing forces evenly. Every component is built to handle miles of travel without loosening or flexing. The distance between brackets is 15" and bracket height is 23-1/2", giving you solid reference points when setting up your tow bar angle or checking for level alignment. It’s dependable hardware made for long hauls and repeat use.
When it’s time to store your setup between trips, high-density polyethylene covers snap into place over each receiver. They block out moisture and road grime so corrosion doesn’t creep in and seize up the sockets. That way, when you’re ready to roll again, everything connects smoothly with no surprises.

Still working perfectly. Towed the jeep about 2000 miles from WA State down to Disneyland and then to Las Vegas and back. Plus dozens of camping trips.

Hi Shawn, the etrailer Invisible Base Plates part # e66GV are not a fit for the 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is why the shutters had to be removed, and the instructions didn't cover it. These base plates fit the previous 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee model, but due to changes in the fascia and bumper they're not a fit for the 2026 model due to those modifications. However, the actual frame of the 2026 Grand Cherokee is still the same as the 2025 model, so the base plates are safe to tow with.
