This setup is made to handle the strain of regular towing without flexing or wearing out. The base plate brackets are computer-cut from solid steel and bolt directly to the frame, creating a rigid connection point for your tow bar. The black powder coat finish resists rust and road debris, keeping everything solid and looking clean over time.
When you’re lining up to tow, you want a stable, consistent hookup. The fixed-bar design gives you that—the front arms stay in place so the attachment point never changes. It’s simple, strong, and ready whenever you are, with no removable parts to misplace or re-align.
Everything needed to mount the brackets comes right in the box, including hardware and instructions. The design bolts into place without special fabrication, so it’s straightforward if you’re taking on the job yourself or having a shop handle it.
This crossbar-style base plate pairs up with Roadmaster tow bars when used with the quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00 – sold separately). That compatibility keeps your setup consistent and ensures the tow bar connects smoothly every time you’re ready to roll.

It’s been great. I only use it to tow my huntn’ rig and never a problem. I’m 87 now and can load and unload by myself.

Install completed and many miles of care free towing behind our motorhome. Fixes suggested made for a simple install. Should be incorporated in future kits. I wont charge for the redesign. :+~ I spent my working life as a mechanical designer builder for a major industrial equipment company.

I spoke to my contact at Roadmaster and he said, as this kit is for vehicles 30 plus years old, it does not fit the new systems, verbiage, and formats that are currently used in installations. With this vehicle being an uncommonly flat towed vehicle as well, they are limited to the one vehicle that came into their shop, which was being the model to design the installation instructions. This can lead to little things not being detailed in the instructions.
