Keeping gear safe from both theft and harsh weather matters, and this cover’s 1" thick aluminum slats handle both with ease. Opening and closing this cover is quick and simple—no straps, snaps, or Velcro to fight with. It slides effortlessly along sealed ball-bearing rollers inside the rails, so there’s no need for lubrication or maintenance. The pop-up handle lets you guide the retractable cover with one hand, and you can latch it securely at any point along the rail, keeping smaller gear covered while leaving room for oversized cargo in back.
Rain, snow, and wash water stay out thanks to the integrated water management system. Two drain tubes channel any water that makes it into the canister out through existing bed drain holes. The spiral track inside the canister prevents the cover from rubbing or binding as it retracts, so it keeps rolling smoothly while staying protected from mildew and buildup.
This cover supports up to 500 lbs of evenly distributed weight when closed, making it tough enough for heavy snow loads or cargo stacked on top. Today we're going to be taking a look at the RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover in matte black. You can upgrade your old tonneau cover and not have to worry about any snapping or hook and loop connections. The RetraxPro MX Hard Tonneau Cover is the best way to cover up your truck bed. One of it's great features is, it can be locked anywhere along the rails you please. It's perfect for keeping your gear dry, covering up that fifth wheel head and you can even use it to secure your elongated cargo. The latch itself doubles as a handle. When you're ready to lock it, it sits flush within the cover and you can lock it up with the included keys.
When you've done that you can put the cover over top. The whole thing rolls up into the flush mounted box for a low profile design. It only takes up about 12 inches of space behind your cab. It's a simple clamp on installation and the rails only sit about an 1-1/4" high on top of our truck bed rails. Here on the inside they take up about 1-3/4". The sealed ball bearing rollers within the cover make opening and closing easy.
And because they're sealed, they're maintenance free. The whole thing is made out of an industrial strength aluminum, it's gonna keep out the elements and it can support distributed loads of up to 500 pounds. When used with the locking tailgate, it's furthers your security. The whole thing is UV protected and it features a limited lifetime warranty. After about a year owning this cover, I still would buy it again. If you set it up right in the first place, it will work flawlessly. The locking mechanism still works great. The rolling part still works great. Aside from a solid cover, this is the most secure cover I have ever had. It does get some drips of water inside after washing the truck but its not enough to worry about, even if you had a bed full of stuff.

So on the plus side, love how it opens all the way up. When were loading the bed for travel, I need it fully open. Downside is the amount of room the canister takes up and the water as previously mentioned. Still quite easy to use!
