Adding a tonneau cover changes how your truck bed gets used. The Fas-Top Sport is modular, letting you add a ladder rack for long cargo, a soft topper for taller enclosed storage, and other accessories without locking the bed into a permanent setup.
The Fas-Top Sport soft tonneau cover sits at bed-rail height and keeps gear out of sight when your truck is parked, helping protect cargo from rain and road spray. When you need your truck bed open to haul something, the cover rolls up behind the cab and stays secured there. You can even remove it entirely if you need your full truck bed to haul something.
With most tonneau covers, once it's on, adding additional accessories like a ladder rack or soft topper isn't an option. You end up choosing one or the other. The Fas-Top Sport tonneau cover avoids that by using channels in the side rails that let accessories mount directly to them, so you don't have to take it off or replace it.
If you need to haul longer items like lumber or ladders, the Jay Bar ladder rack (FT53MJ - sold separately) adds crossbars so you can carry cargo that won't fit inside your truck bed.
The soft truck topper (FT34AV - sold separately) provides coverage at cab height rather than bed rail height, so it's perfect for hauling larger or stacked items, or even using as truck bed shelter when you go camping.
Tie-Downs (FT25YJ - sold separately) add fixed anchor points so straps have a consistent place to pull from instead of wrapping around bars wherever they fit.
The Gripstix (FT52YJ - sold separately) cargo grabber gives you a way to load, lift, and move items in your truck bed without climbing in or overreaching.
Large and small cargo bags (FT72AB and FT75YJ - sold separately) keep items contained so they don't roll around or get buried under larger gear.

Hello neighbor, this is Curt with etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Fas-top soft roll-up tonneau cover. We're gonna see how it fits and how it installs on our 2024 Ford F-150. Now a tonneau cover is always a great way to keep those items in your truck bed dry and free of any dust and debris. It also offers some concealment that might deter a lot of thieves that are out there as well. This tonneau cover from Fas-top is really, really easy to put together. It's very lightweight and simple to handle when you do put it together.
It's got aluminum rails, aluminum crossbars, and aluminum clamps. All of them are very strong and powder coated for durability. The cover itself is a vinyl cover and it is actually a weather resistant vinyl cover, so you shouldn't be expecting any kind of fading over time. So coming around to our tailgate, we're gonna go ahead and see how this unlatches. Now over here on our passenger side, it's a trigger latch, so we're just gonna push that forward to disengage.
It's gonna be the same thing over here on our driver's side. And once that's done we can go ahead and lift up. We see this nice strong piece of aluminum here that's keeping it rigid toward the tailgate, and at this point we could start going ahead and getting it rolled up. Now the sides are held down by this hook and loop system and it's a pretty strong hook and loop and a pretty generous channel that we have here. So it's really not an issue ever getting it nice and lined up as we open and close it.
So I'm gonna come over here to the side and we're gonna just continue to roll this up. It's got these channels here that are gonna keep it straight for us as we do it, and you'll see that aluminum crossbar that goes across for rigidity. So this is giving us a really good tight roll as we go forward too. And as we get up here to the cab, this is one of the things that I actually really like about the soft roll-up covers is that when I have it completely open, I have full visibility out of my rear window. On a, you know, a tri-fold, a hard tonneau cover that the pieces are in panels, generally you're gonna have that last panel all the way up against the back here and it's gonna completely block any rear view that you have.
You can't see out the back, you can't see your cargo, any of it. It's just completely blocked. So once we have this rolled all the way up to the front like this, each side, both passenger and driver has this J hook and there's a loop under here that we're gonna go ahead and secure it so that we can drive safely with the tonneau cover open. This way it won't unravel on itself and blow in the wind. It won't make your truck look like a superhero flying down the highway. Now the F-150 that we have today is the version with the five and a half foot bed. So with this opened all the way up, we're still gonna be able to use a majority of it. In fact, we're gonna have 62 and a half inches of bed space that we can use with it rolled up like this. And just so that we know what we've got underneath it, if we wanna leave it closed, we wanna make sure that our cargo is going to be under the 21 and three quarter mark in order to make sure that it doesn't hit any of our crossbars. And when we're ready to close it up, it's a really simple, easy process as well. We're just gonna unhook our J hooks here and roll it back. And as we're rolling it back, we're gonna notice that our crossbars gonna drop into these channels like so making it really, really easy. And once we get to the back, we're gonna make sure this drops into place, into that wedge and it'll clamp shut just like so, we can close our tailgate. Before I hit the road, I should also mention that you should attach your hook and loop on the outside of your cover to your rails. This is gonna make sure that it stays nice and tight and keep any of that water and dust out. Now, I had mentioned before how easy it is to install this tonneau cover, especially compared to other ones that are out there on the market. So follow along and I'll show you exactly how we got this onto our F-150. So installation of the tonneau cover is a pretty simple process. It's definitely something somebody can handle on their own if they want to. And it's gonna start with this bulb seal that's gonna go up here on the bulkhead. Now it has an adhesive backing and you're gonna wanna put it on the flat space just to the edge of where it starts to curve over into the bed. You'll just line that up, stick it down, carefully run it all the way across. And then if you have a scissor or a box cutter, go ahead and trim any excess. Now since we're doing this for demo purposes today, we're not gonna stick down our bulb seal for this installation. We're just gonna move right into the next step. And the next step is going to be to set up our rail. Now each rail takes three of these clamps, three washers and three bolts. So go ahead and grab your 9/16 inch wrench to be ready. The rails can be identified which side they go on because one, we have this rubber strip here on the bottom that's gonna pad between our bed rail and our top rail here. Two, this hook and loop attachment is going to be facing toward the outside of the bed. And three, this trigger latch system should be at the tailgate. So we've got our passenger side identified now, and what we're gonna do is just lay that here across the top of this rail and push it all the way up to the front. Now in this channel here, we're gonna find five different nuts. We're only gonna be using three of them for the three clamps. So I'm gonna position one toward the front. I'm gonna position another one all the way back toward the tailgate. And for these three in the middle, I'm gonna leave two up closer to the front. And the other one I'm gonna position toward the middle. So I'm gonna be using the one all the way to the front, this single one here, and the one at the end. These two can be used later if you wanna add the topper. We don't have the topper with us today, so these are just gonna stay in the channel and not be used. So for the clamp, this is gonna go on with the bolt hole facing the outside. So I'm gonna take my washer, put it on the bolt, and I'm gonna get this lined up. Now my front clamp that's all the way up by the cab and my rear clamp that's close to the tailgate here. We wanna make sure we position those as far to the front and as far to the back as possible. So with the way that this bedliner goes back here, this is about as far back as I'm gonna get it. So I'm gonna go ahead and tighten this up by hand to start. All the while I am making sure that my rail stays as positioned toward the front as it possibly can be. So it is butted up against the bulkhead up there, the front of the box. So we're just gonna keep it in place as we tighten these down. Now one of the things that I noticed as we're putting this on, and this is true of the driver's side rail which we've already installed, is that this bolt doesn't really sit perfectly flush against this. This is gonna vary depending on the type of liner that you have in your truck. I would have to imagine if there was no liner in this truck that this would sit a little bit more flush, but it is going to do the job. So I'm just gonna go ahead and tighten it down with my 9/16 wrench. So with our rails installed and completely tightened down, it's time to place our cover on. So underneath we're gonna have this aluminum piece here and we're just gonna set this in so that it kind of cups in here. And we're gonna get these bolt holes that are at the bottom lined up with it. So it should just hook into place. With everything in place with the cover, we're gonna go ahead and take this nut that was supplied, that has the washer weld to it, and there is a hole going through right up under here that's gonna attach our side rails onto our tonneau cover. So we're gonna grab our same 9/16 inch wrench and we're gonna get that started. So once that is all tightened down, we're gonna go ahead and unlatch our safety straps up here and we're gonna go ahead and roll it out and just double check and make sure everything is lining up as we come down. So as I'm rolling it, there are these bars going across to keep some structure to it and these should be laying down flat along these rails right here as I go. So, so far so good and we're just walking it all the way back here to the tailgate. At which point, we've got this triangular little latch right here that should fit right into this. And we got it down tight and latched pretty well. Now once that's done, we're gonna go along the edges and we're gonna apply the hook and loop that's on the outside of our rails. This is gonna keep everything nice and taut across the middle of our tonneau cover here. We're gonna make sure we do that on both sides of the truck bed. And with everything batting it down on the sides, we're gonna go ahead and close our tailgate. And we have a really, really good snug fit along here. So that's really it for the installation. Really pretty simple. All you've gotta really provide yourself is going to be some kind of cutting tool for that bulb seal and then a 9/16 inch wrench. And this is an installation that a lot of people can do on their own. But if you're not somebody that's really inclined to do this sort of thing, you like the tonneau cover, but you really don't want to do it yourself, check out our dealer locator on our website. It can help you get in contact with an installer close to you so that they can get this onto your truck. So that's a look at the Fas-top sport soft rollup tonneau cover on our 2024 Ford F-150.
