Features to know about

Climbing Icy Grades with Confidence: V-Bar Studs Bite Into Ice

These chains come equipped with V-bar studs that dig into icy surfaces to keep you moving when traction disappears. The studded twist links form cross chains that grip hard-packed snow and slick ice, giving you the control you need for steep driveways, plowed access roads, or frozen highways. The ladder-style layout helps with steady starts and stops, so the tires grab evenly instead of sliding.

Tackling Deep Snow Without Spinning Out: Twist Links Clear Packed Snow

The low-carbon steel twist links are built for traction in heavy, deep snow. They’re tough enough to claw through slush and powder while staying flexible enough to wrap evenly around the tires. The 0.218" (5.5 mm) thick links hold strong against corrosion and wear, giving you dependable grip all season long up to the 30 mph speed rating.

Quick Tightening in Cold Conditions: Built-In Cam Tighteners Secure the Fit

Getting chains snug when it’s freezing out can be tricky, but the built-in cams make it straightforward. After draping the chains, you just twist the cams using the included wrench to pull the chains tight around the tires. There’s no need to fight with loose links, and if you want extra hold, you can add rubber or chain adjusters (sold separately) for added tension.

Ready for Dual Tire Setups: One Chain Covers Both Tires Per Side

Each chain is designed to fit around both tires on one side of a dual-tire axle, so you don’t have to install separate sets. That means less time crawling in the snow and a simpler, cleaner setup for dual-wheel rigs. The set includes two dual-tire chains—one for the driver’s side and one for the passenger’s side—plus a reusable canvas storage bag to keep them organized between uses.

Built to Handle Winter Season After Season: Durable Low-Carbon Steel Construction

These chains are made from strong low-carbon steel that stands up to repeated use on icy, snow-packed roads. The material resists bending and breaking while maintaining its bite through the cold. With proper use and storage, they’ll keep delivering solid traction for winter after winter of mountain commutes, ski runs, or rural snow routes.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

The shipping speed was amazing! There was no delay from the time I ordered until I was notified that it had been shipped. Wish all companies could be like this!

by:

They are fine if your not trying to pull a trailer. With pressure the the cross links pull apart.

by:

Can’t say enough about these guys, even though delivery took tad longer than expected communication from etrailer team was on point from start to finish.

Thanks to etrailer team i know me and my family are safe no matter what weather conditions we have to go through.

by:

I could never use the chains. One dual side had cams missing on one side and obviously would not work. When I bought them, I just place them in my carry crates and discovered they would fit.... During a snowstorm. Serious bummer.

by:

I went on live chat before I made my selection, good thing I did! They pointed me in the direction for my needs, very helpful! Fast shipping,my order was shipped the same day! I have not installed chains yet,but they look to be top quality.

by:

These snow chains were easy to install. Provided excellent traction!

by:

Got my order today, looks like a very good set of snow chains! More heavy duty than I expected, so should work great!! My order arrived in a very timely manner, will definitely order from here again. Very pleased with the whole transaction, price, quality and speed of shipping.

by:

First off shipping was very quick they had my chains packaged and out the same day, which means great work ! Item was recieved in 2 days
For the chains they did what I needed iv got a 2wd dually and sometimes out here in the snow requires some tricks I had no tricks left when it came to incline up a icy snow hill with a 40ft fifth wheel I was able to slowly pull trailer with out slipping ..nothing seemed to break at 5mph about 300 yards

by:

To the unfamiliar don’t wait till your stuck to put the chains on. Some of us are slow learners, just saying. The dual tire chains known as “ triples” are tuff to connect the center chain. However the cam lock tighteners are the way to go. I’m 62 and living in Maine. I’ve used tire chains every winter plowing snow or traveling to my favorite ice fishing spot. These chain are superior because of the v bar cross links and the cam lock tightener. I wish they had been available years ago! Highly recommend but don’t take my word on it. Try them on for your vehicle you won’t regret it!

by:

The chains were too big for my tires, even though they were listed as compatible. This resulted in them banging up the wheel well of my truck, even though I added tensioners.

by:

I got these ice breaker snow chains for my tow truck - I pull a large fifth wheel and plan to travel the country - During the winter when traveling from New England to the southwest "With The Other Sun Birders" - I need to be prepared for any ice or snow storm to get myself safely off the road in an emergency - This is cheep insurance and would not feel safe without the capability of getting myself to a safe place to wait the storm out - Your service was good, when my package came it only have one side - I called and you quickly sent the other side -

by:

If you do any towing, do NOT order these. Completely useless. Used them for the first time this past weakened in Colorado and the links broke(we kept it under 25 mph!!!). Despite pulling over immediately it destroyed the entire wheel well on one side of our dually. If you use your truck commercially and subject to Chain Laws these will not last even a couple of miles.

by:

Just put the 4821 dually chains with cams on my truck and I'm impressed with the ease of installation. Tested them out on an icy hill and snow on top too...AWESOME CHAINS! They look as though they'll hold up well.
Thank you Nicole R. at etrailer for your assistance. ;)

Shipping was great. The girl on the phone said they didn't have any chains for my vehicle. I asked if they had them for my tire size and she said no. After looking through 8 pages of chains and tire sizes I found the ones that would fit.

by:

Great customer service and the tire chains are bomber! I have recommended
"etrailer" to a number of friends.

by:

I got the snow chains for my 2005 Chevy Express 3500 Class C RV, its a Dual wheel rear. It worked perect. A little cumbersome to put on but MUCH easier than I expected, also being my first time putting on chains ever.
I went thru spots 4x4s were getting a tow from the Forest Ranger.
Great product and as all my previous exprience with etrailer - GREAT Company to deal with. Wish I had taken some pics.

  • Recommended Tire Chain Set for Dually Tires Size LT225/75R16
For your dual tires on your 2003 Ford E-350, it is not recommended to only use the chains on the outermost tire because that won't provide even traction or weight support. I highly recommend using chains designed for use with dually axles. The very best option is the Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chain with Cam Tighteners for Dual Truck Tires - Reversible - 1 Axle Set # PWE4219SC because of the high quality materials used and the ability to reverse them for even wear over the long-term....

I really like the V-Bar style chains because they really bite into the snow and ice for superior tractions. Titan chain offers the # TC4819CAM that is designed dual rear wheel set up on your box truck. These chains are great for occasional to moderate use. If you'll be constantly finding yourself in situations where the chains are needed, and the chains will be used more frequently, I'd recommend the Pewag # PWE4219SC square link chains. These won't bite in quite as well as the Titan chains...

For a single tire chain for the outside wheels on your 2020 Jayco Redhawk 26XD Class C Motorhome with 225/75R16 tires I recommend the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2519 which include integrated tensioners that make securing the chain to your tires a breeze, and the square links which offer excellent traction in snow and ice. We have the Titan tire chains part # TC4219CAM which are a fit for the tire size you have on your Sprinter of 215/85-16 and would work great. These are a twist link style of chain which means it would be a little smoother and these are a dually design so they will cover both tires on either side of the vehicle. If breaking up ice was the priority over ride you would instead want the V-bar part # TC4819CAM, or if deep snow the square link # TC4219SCAM.
