Multiple Heating Options

It is ideal for small engines and can be used on snowblowers, chainsaws, and snowmobiles. Simply attach the powerful magnetic base onto the engine block, oil pan, intake manifold, transmission pan, or hydraulic system to heat the fluid in that area of the machinery.

Alternatively, you can keep a battery warm by attaching this heater to the battery hold down. This will ensure that the battery maintains its charge so that it can get the engine or electric motor to start faster and easier. Since this heater easily attaches to most metal surfaces, it can also come in handy for thawing frozen locks, pipes, gutters, and more.

Happy with product. Good value

by:

Cheap materials and it is made only for using indoor. I'm really afraid to let that thing plug all night inside of my garage. You can smell like a burning plastic after plug-in.
This items are supposed to be made for tough conditions ,I don't have time to crawl under the heavy duty equipment in a freezing temperature and clean the grease or mud out of the oil-pan.

by:

had to replace KH1190 due to melting of heater.

by:

It's great for me because I was looking at purchasing magnetic or adhesive type heating pads for multiple pieces of equipment parked in unheated building and several vehicles not equipped with block heaters that typically get parked outside but with this heater I can use one heater to take care of all of them and my generator and and it works for me because I really only ever want or need to use it on one thing at a time.
I just want to prevent unneeded wear and tear on machine engine parts /starters/ batteries/ etc.

The only downside is that the instructions say "Do Not store heater in temperatures lower than 0°F because of bi-metal thermostat so I won't be storing it in the shop/building/garage but that's not a big deal.

by:

I like this product and use it on my air compressor which is in an unheated room. I didn,t know you handled these but found it when I searched on the internet. This was backordered but I was notified and it came earlier than you told me. Thanks again

The magnetic heater is working just as I intended. I use it to keep the crankcase of an air compressor in my garage warm so I can use it during the winter. I plug the heater in when the weather turns cold, and it keeps the compressor ready to go. Without it, the compressor would often fail to start at all.

by:

Bought 4 one of them burnt out even though it was only used for a few months it had good connection to motor.

by:

I opened the box took the unite out and plugged it in to a AC outlet and it warmed up. I will be traveling to SD this December traveling through Montana, expect cold weather so II will be prepared.

by:

This an excellent product its user friendly and does its job all winter long the only change should be to make the power cord a foot or so longer

by:

  • How to Use Kats Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater
The Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater # KH1155 is usually installed onto the oil or transmission pan to keep the fluid warm. Nothing will need to be cut for use. It's also intended to heat small engines like that of a snowblower or chainsaw. For a larger heater, that is designed to be used on a vehicle, the # KH1190 is what you're looking for. This is also usually placed on the oil or transmission pan but can be used on the engine block. There still is nothing that needs to...

  • Will an Engine Oil Heater Help Me Start My Generator in the Cold
I cannot say for certain but when the temperature that your generator is subjected to is cold, the oil inside the generator is also cold which means it is much thicker than at operating temperature. The thicker oil combined with your low oil shut-off is likely the reason as to why the generator will not fire up in the cold. I have done some additional research online and this seems to be the general consensus as well. The perfect way to combat this issue would indeed be to use the Kat's...

  • Can Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater be Stored Below Zero Temperature
There's nothing you can do to the Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater w/ Thermostat # KH1155 if the outside temperature is below zero because there's no way to heat the heater. If you are going to be experiencing sub-zero temperatures, you should remove the # KH1155 from your vehicle and not permanently store it.

  • Storage Instructions for Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater
Thanks for reaching out! The Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater w/ Thermostat # KH1155 can take about 3-4 hours to something up depending on the size and how cold it is outside. As long as it's on and working it will be warm enough to be outside. Once the thermostat kicks it off you'll want to remove it and bring it back inside. Kat's doesn't have an amount of time that it can be left out in temps below 0 F because it isn't supposed to be left out there. Since you left your previous...

  • Is There a Fix for the Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater Not Heating Up
The Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater # KH1155 thermostat kicks the heater off when it heats up the fluid to 275 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that it should be heating up right away when it's plugged in. If this is not the case the the unit is malfunctioning and I recommend taking advantage of the 1-Year warranty if applicable.

That is the only 12V option the rest run on 120V and there is one that is larger at 5-1/2 inches by 8-1/2 inches that is 500 watts and claimed to run between 300 and 400 degrees. • Can the Kats Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater be Used to Heat Water Pipes on an RV
The Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater # KH1155 was specifically designed to heat up various fluids in the engine of your vehicle. Since it has a heat output of 300 F - 400 F I recommend going another route. A better way to go is with the Therma Heat elbow pads. We have part # 277-000162 which is 8" x 3" and part # 277-000161 which is 13" x 3". Either one of these will do a great job keeping your water pipes warm as long as they do not exceed 3" in diameter. However, 3 to 4 hours before starting your 2016 Ram 1500 is pretty standard. The Kat's Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater # KH1155 for the oil pan is basically the same. However, it does have an automatic shut off at 275 degrees.

  • Kats Heater Compatibility with Propane Tank for Ice House
The Kat's Heaters Thermal Battery Wrap for Diesel Truck Batteries - 125V - 160 Watt # KH22300 is what I recommend. It will wrap around your tank and you can leave it plugged in all the time. The magnetic style heater like # KH1155 you mentioned will only touch 8 square inches of a completely flat surface, so I don't believe it is the best option for your application. Although these also can stay plugged in, the surrounding aspect of the battery wrap will be a better option.

The magnet of the Kat's Heaters Handi-Heat Magnetic Heater # KH1155 is strong enough that you can leave it installed on an oil pan. You'd just need to make sure the power cable is secure safely away from any moving or hot parts. This also has a thermostat built into it to shut it off at 275 degrees so you can leave it plugged too and it won't overheat anything.
