Features to know about

Solid Mounting You Can Count On: 3/16" Thick Steel Hangers Keep the Axle Secure

A strong suspension starts with solid anchor points. The hangers in this kit are built from 3/16" thick steel, giving your axle a steady and secure connection to the trailer frame. Each front hanger stands 3-3/4" tall from the top to the center of its 9/16" bolt hole, while the rear hangers measure 5-1/6" tall. The sturdy steel construction keeps the suspension geometry true and the ride stable mile after mile.

Set Up for Smooth Travel: Designed for 2" Wide Slipper Springs

Getting your trailer to ride right means matching the right spring and hanger sizes. This kit is made for 2" wide slipper springs and includes all the hardware—(4) 3-1/2" long x 9/16" diameter shackle bolts and (4) 9/16" locknuts—so the suspension pivots smoothly without extra play. The inner width of each hanger is just over 2", giving your springs a snug, proper fit that helps reduce noise and wear.

Correct Ride Height and Clearance: 4-3/4" to 5" Between Frame and Axle

With this setup, you can dial in the trailer height for the right amount of clearance. Depending on the axle size, the hangers achieve either 4-3/4" or 5" between the trailer frame and axle centerline. That extra precision in spacing helps protect underbody components and keeps the trailer sitting level for a controlled ride.

Ready for Single-Axle Builds: Fits 2,000-lb to 8,000-lb Axles

Whether you’re replacing worn hangers or building a new suspension, this kit handles single-axle setups rated from 2,000 lbs up to 8,000 lbs. It includes everything needed to attach your slipper springs to the frame, while the components for mounting the axle to the springs can be chosen to match your exact axle size and load capacity.

Reliable Weld-On Installation: Built for Long-Term Strength

These hangers are designed to be welded to the bottom of the trailer frame using the button weld holes at the top. That welded connection gives lasting strength and alignment—critical for keeping the axle centered and the suspension working the way it should over rough roads and heavy loads.

Great service, bolts could be 1/4" longer for easier installation.

great products, fast shipping, great communication and follow up. Huge inventory makes for ease of finding anything trailer related. E-trailer is my best and only source for trailer parts.

Item its great but shipping was so poor, i know the excuse is that “due to covid” but working as a art director in the movie industry i order hundreds of this per week and this is the only company that seems to take this long so I'm thinkIng its management or a problem with the company not the “covid” excuse since every other company i deal with seems to have survived. Oh well good product though

Thanks for the followup, Hanger kit arrived on time and worked perfectly.

Product serves its' purpose. The steel welded well. I've put 1-2k miles on these hangers so far and they are working correctly.
The bolts are way too short. The threads do not reach through the hanger to start threading the nut. I had to clamp the heck out of each one to get a nut to bite. Had to go to Tractor supply and pick up 2 extra bolts that were 1" longer to even use two of the hangers. Product is good but save yourself some headache and pick up longer bolts before trying to install.

They are still holding good. I get a sick feeling every time I see the connections with the bolts that are too short. There is just something unsettling about the nut not even threading enough for the bolt to protrude the other side.

  • Looking For New Hangers And Springs For 2011 Karavan Trailer
Hello Andy, thanks for reaching out. We do carry a leaf spring that may work for you, but I will need to know the weight capacity of your axle to make sure the spring is correctly rated for your trailer. For example, the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Hook End # SP-230275 is 26-5/8" long and is rated for a 4,000 lb trailer axle. The 3/8" length difference is within acceptable tolerance, so this will be a good option for you as long as your axle is also 4,000 lb rated. Otherwise, the spring could...

  • Bolts Needed To Install Slipper Springs
For the spring eye you would use the Spring-Eye Bolt with Locknut for Slipper Springs - 3-1/2" Long # 166079, but slipper springs don't have the second spring eye, so a bolt is not used on the back end. You can also use a wet bolt like # 126B2, for less friction. The Shackle Bolt with Locknut for Double-Eye Springs - 3" Long # 166081 are for use with the spring and shackle straps used with a shackle straps on a tandem setup with an equalizer but it could be used for the springs and the...

  • Dimensions of Hangers Included with Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs APS6SE
The front hangers in kit # APS6SE are # 721584. They measure 3-3/4 inches from the top to the center of the mounting hole. The hole is 9/16 inches in diameter. The holes that are in the top are not for bolting the hanger. They are there to mount the hangers using button welds. Very few hangers are designed to be bolted on. The rear hangers in the kit are # 721585. They measure 5-1/6 inches tall from the top to the center of the 9/16 inch diameter hole. It also features the 2 holes for...

  • Which Trailer Suspension Hanger Kit Do I Need For 27 Long x 2 Wide Slipper Spring On 6000-lb Axle
To mount your 27" long slipper springs # e67SR you'll need to choose between a kit for single axle trailers or a tandem axle trailer. If you have a single axle trailer you'll want to use the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs - 3-3/4" Tall Front # APS6SE. If you have a tandem axle trailer you'll want to use the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs - 12" Long Equalizers # APT6SE. • Do Leaf Spring Hangers Need To Be Welded To Bottom Of Frame Or Can They Be Welded To The Side?
Leaf spring hangers like the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs - 3-3/4" Tall Front # APS6SE you were looking at need to be installed on the bottom of the frame, and installing them on the side of the frame would cause the axle to be the frame. You could fabricate a bump out on the frame to give you a place for the hangers to mount if needed, but I recommend having a qualified welder do the welding as it will be what is keeping your axle connected to your trailer. Moving up to a 6 inch wide, 10 inch diameter wheel like the Kenda 205/65-10 Tire and Wheel Combo 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern, # AM3H460, will have a section width of 8.07 inches. This will bring the tire approximately 1-3/4 inches closer to the trailer frame leaving a 1-3/4 inch gap. This will be plenty...

  • Axle Recommendation for a Trailer for Best Ground Clearance
Actually if you are looking for the best possible ground clearance for your trailer a Timbren Axleless system with a lift built into it like the part # ASR3500S06 would be your best option. Not only will there not be an axle running down the middle of your trailer which would limit ground clearance, but the spindles have a lift built into them to give even more ground clearance than a standard axle or torsion axle. This system has a 3,500 lb capacity as well.

  • How Does the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit #APS6SE Work with 1.75 Inch Slipper Springs
To assemble a slipper spring suspension system, you'll need several components: the hangers and bolts (included in the kit APS6SE); slipper springs, such as the 1.75 inch # e33SR; spring seats such as # TRSS300; and a U-bolt mounting kit such as # # APUBR-8. The 1.75 inch springs attach the same as 2 inch springs would. The hangers attach the springs to your trailer frame. The U-bolt plates attach the springs to the axle. The spring seat welds onto your axle to provide additional support....

  • What to Consider When Lifting a Boat Trailer
I would first recommend that you see our article "How to Raise Your Travel Trailer"(linked below). This may help you find the best way to add 2" to your boat trailer. As we do not sell or recommend lift blocks on a trailer. Being that you are asking about lift blocks I am going to assume that your axle is already located below the leaf springs. The Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 1-1/2" Front, 1-1/4" Rear # APS2 is designed for use with 1-3/4" wide double-eye leaf springs, so it wouldn't work with 2" wide springs. Double-eye springs are standard 1-3/4" and the only hanger kits we have for 2" springs are for slipper springs. • Tandem Axle Hanger Kit for 2 inch Wide Slipper Springs
Yes, you can mount two 6,000 lb capacity axles that use slipper springs in tandem on your trailer. What you'll need is a tandem axle slipper spring hanger kit like the part # APT6SE which is designed for 2 inch wide springs like what you have. What equalizers do is prevents any of your axles from ever carrying the full weight of the trailer at any time like over a bump. The weight is always "equalized" between the two axles.
