Ordering thru e-trailer has always been quick and easy. Ordered my Malone kit and it arrived in five days. e-trailer kept me informed of my order status and checked to make sure delivery was ok. Have ordered from them several times and have been always satisfied.
Excellent build quality, all hardware included. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again, if needed.
Install was easy, worked great. It's wide enough to hold 2 canoes. My trailer already had plywood walls added, but that wasnt a problem. Some strategically drilled holes in the plywood, and it was good.
Feedback for the manufacturer:
The unnecessary 2nd hold at the top of the uprights will be a nesting location for wasps. Please stop adding that hole or provide plugs for the extra holes.
Mostly works as advertised, fits my needs. An order shipped with missing parts, but etrailer took care of it quickly. Downside is the bracket that holds the cross bars to the vertical bars allows significant movement and instability going down the highway, and the kit didn't come with square u bolts for my trailer that had full tube rails instead of angle iron. I sourced my own square u bolts and had to get bracing fabricated to fix the all of the connection point movement issues. It's way more stable and solid now.

Well designed and made considering the different builds of trailers this kit is made to fit. Overall pleased with my purchase. The only criticism I can think of is that’s it’s heavier than I thought it would be (I tow with a subcompact car and therefore weight is critical). I am personally curious to know if making this product from aluminum would raise the price too much. I installed mine on a 4’x6’ Carry On (Lowe’s) utility trailer.
I ordered this kit on May 29th, and received it on June 6th. I'm installing it on a 5'x8' Carry-On Utility Trailer to store canoes and kayaks. The box was slightly torn upon delivery. When opened, it was missing all the hardware! I called etrailer.com customer service right away and they were very nice after I was able to speak with someone. They are going to contact Malone to send me the hardware. We'll see how it goes. I'll provide an updated review when everything is resolved. It's kind of strange that another reviewer had the same issue. Hope the hardware comes before our camping trip!

Malone sent the missing hardware, and everything assembled just fine. The only negative about this product is the sharp edges will damage your kayaks and also leave a black residue on them if theyre a light color. Be sure to install foam on top. I used pool noodles and zip tied them to the frame. Works great!
Its not a one size fits all. Most people who purchase will need to make modifications so it will fit. My trailer is made out of 1.5 inch angle and the angled u-bolts were too large. I ran out of threads before the brackets tightened properly. I had to make spacers in order for it to work. If the angled u-bots were threaded farther back, it may have worked. I decided to make spacers rather than cutting more threads. The hardware is cheap. The brackets do you quality inconsistencies. The idea is great and will work after modifications. Quality control needs to be in place to correct the inconsistencies. I think its expensive for what you get and the mods required for it to fit.
Fairly easy to put together and seems solid. I have used it twice with no issues. It does not fit the Lowes Utility Trailer 4x6 without modding the steel plates that screw into the frame. The Lowes trailer's side rails are too short to work with the unmodified steel plates that ship with the kit.

Love this rack. Sturdy and stable. Used for mounting kayaks on our 5.5' x 10' utility trailer.
Much heavier than I anticipated. Quality hardware and strong components. The kit now includes U bolts for square frame trailers, and I used those to tie the bottom of the uprights to the trailer for added rigidity. Add some Malone Sea Wings and your kayaks will be secure and safe.
Very well made and sturdy. Bought for a 5x8 trailer to carry kayaks, easy install, clear instructions. Took less than an hour to install.
High quality components and everything fit my trailer. Perfect addition to expand what I can do with the trailer.

Cut it to fit my trailer to accommodate my specific height and width limitations and couldn't be happier.
I am truly disappointed with the quality of their products. If this is what etrailer is, I recommend you avoid purchasing anything from them. I ordered a racking system, which came with no hardware, making the system useless. I would like to change the star rating to 4 stars with the following quote:

Still works great!
Received the box torn opened missing 12 parts in total each of the 4 brackets needed to attach everything to the trailer. Sent an email to two people at the company as of now I have a $xxx paperweight

Got here in time for my trip (last minute purchase). Box was damaged but all parts made it! Assembly was relatively easy and it worked great.
Easy to install, sturdy, and works well.

Still Great, have had no problems and used it to haul kayaks and fasten a motorcycle and bikes to it. Love it.
