Can The Malone TopTier Load Bar Kit for Utility Trailers Be Used On Trailers 5-1/2" Foot Wide

Question:

On Malones website they note that this product fits trailers that are 4 or 5 ft. wide. Many utility trailers Im shopping for are 5.5 ft. wide. Considering that the load bars are 78, would this system still work on a deck that is 6inch wider than the 5 ft. listed?

I did contact Malone on your behalf and they confirmed you could use the Malone TopTier Load Bar Kit for Utility Trailers # MPG493 for a 5-1/2" foot trailer application.

That said, they did have a specific note of caution that they stand behind the 4-5 foot wide capacity as that is how it has been tested and is the best positioned placement for the support tubes to fully support the load bars of the kit.
