It uses two 194 incandescent bulbs under a red snap-on acrylic lens to shine bright and clear. Rated for 12V systems and drawing only 0.25 amps, it works as both a clearance and side marker light when properly mounted. Today we are looking at the Peterson Red Oblong 2 Bulb Trailer Clearance Light, part number 425400. This light mounts to the surface and is mounted on 3 inch centers. It has a 2,500 hour bulb which is included. The acrylic lens will snap and seal into place. The light grounds to the mounting hardware of the light, and is powered by a single wire design.
Lets go ahead and put power to the light and show you how it lights up. I take my ground and attach it to the mounting hardware, and my power supply to the wire. Now Ill go ahead and turn off the lights and show you what it looks like when it is lit up when it is dark. Exact replacement
As others have said, the design has changed a bit. The "old" style mounted the bezel via a couple of holes beneath the lens. The "new" style mounts the bezel and lens through the same holes. Not a huge deal, but one to be aware of. Otherwise they are the same thing dimensionally and the lens are the same.
They had what I wanted. I ordered it and got it within a reasonable time. In addition, any business that has people so willing to help as Sarah S. gets an extra star from me. Customer service builds customer support. If you want loyal customers hire more people like Sarah S. Good luck to you all.
Fits aftermarket Harbor style bumper on 1999 Dodge Ram PERFECT
Designed different that the original. Have to enlarge the hole for mounting,which was a pain in the rear. These also have a ground wire where the orginal did not. Had to get creative to ground the fixture since I did not have access to the back.

When I installed it & tested it the light wouldn’t work.
Put the old light back in and one of bulbs still worked.
