Video Transcript for Review of Optronics Trailer Lights - Submersible Thinline Smoke Lens Trailer Light Bar - OPT65KB

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Optronics Submersible Thinline Smoke Lens Trailer Light Bar. Now, with a smoke lens and black housing, this light bar is going to blend into your black trailer, making you more visible to other drivers, whether you're just out cruising, turning, or braking. Now, this is thin and streamlined, and as you can see, I do have this connected to my 12-volt power supply, and you can see what the taillight function looks like, even with my bright studio lights on here, and then I'm gonna go ahead and activate the brake lights. So, even with that smoke lens, this is gonna be very bright, and lemme go ahead and turn my studio lights off here just to give you a better demonstration. So, there's your taillights, your brake lights, and then your turn signal.

(lights clicking) And then I'm gonna go back out to a wide view here. Again, those are the taillights, brake lights, and turn signals. So, very bright. Lemme see if I can shine this on the wall behind me real quick so you can just see how effective this is going to be. So, this does feature 15 red LEDs, and as you know, LEDs are a great upgrade over incandescent bulbs.

They last longer, they shine brighter while using less power. So, again, I'm impressed with, even with that smoke lens, this is gonna be very bright, very effective. I'm gonna turn my studio lights back on here, and I'm gonna go ahead and disconnect from power. So, whether you're an avid boater, or you just don't want a rainy day to ruin your trailer, you're gonna appreciate the waterproof construction of this taillight. It is completely sealed against moisture, and it's going to protect the integrity of the components long term.

And this light is going to install on the surface of your trailer or vehicle using just two screws. This does not include any hardware, it's just going to be for the light. So, lemme go ahead and give you some overall measurements here. So, looking at the, line this up here, looking at the length, as I hope you can see there, kind of having difficulty showing that, we are sitting right at 20 1/2 inches it looks like. Lemme try it this way here.

That wire is getting in my way. So, yeah, 20 1/2 inches. And then let me get my ruler here for the smaller measurements. The overall height is right at an inch, and then the thickness is going to be about 3/4 of an inch. And the distance between the mounting holes is gonna be right about 19 5/8-inches on center. And as you probably already noticed, this is going to be a three-pigtail wiring harness, so you have your power, your ground, and this is going to be for your brakes. Obviously, this is gonna wire into your 12-volt system. But I think this is gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that our brief time together was illuminating for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

See what our Experts say about this Optronics Trailer Lights

  • Can a 4-Way be Added to Trailer Wiring for Light Bar on Boat
Hey Patrick, basically you would need to splice in an additional 4-way to the trailer's wiring so that your light bar can be powered. Easiest way to do that would be with a kit like the part # C58044 which you'd splice into the current trailer's taillight circuits. This will give you a 4-way for a light bar to plug into like the part # OPT65KB. How were you planning on attaching the light bar to the boat?
