Video Transcript for Review of the Fusion LED Hardwired Trailer Light

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Optronics Oval Fusion LED Hardwired Stop/Tail/Turn and Backup Trailer Light with the red and the clear lens. Now, this is an oval trailer taillight. Has a nice, smooth, bright red exterior, which will serve four functions. Now, we do have this hooked up to some 12-volt power just to show you those functions. So what we're gonna do is first turn on our power, and you'll hit your taillight function.

Go ahead and turn off our overhead lights, so you can see. That's the taillight function. When you do hit your brakes, you can see how those lights there's eight of them there. There're eight red LEDs. They do light up when you hit your brakes.

And then when you hit your turn signal, it's the same way. They will light up brighter and also flash. And the last function I wanna show you is the backup light function. Now, the backup light function, let me get it hooked up here. Once we get that hooked up, now we'll be able to go.

When we go into reverse, you'll be able to see that the four white LEDs will come on in the middle white lens area. So when you're going to back up, it'll come on, and everybody will be able to see that you're going in reverse. Very bright LEDs. Go ahead and turn back on overhead lights. Turn off our power.

Now, this slide is in a sonically-sealed waterproof housing and lens unit. It is submersible. It uses durable SMT technology, which is surface-mount technology. That's the construction of the LED circuit board that'll allow you to. or have better withstand the shock and vibration, and allows for improved heat distribution. We mentioned there are LEDs in here. The LEDs will make great replacements for the incandescent lights. Because they'll last about 50 times longer, they're also more efficient 'cause they'll provide brighter light, less power output. And the nice thing is no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments that are gonna break. And you do get a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. We mentioned it's the red lens with the nice white lens in the middle here with red and white LEDs. Basically, the red lens has red LEDs for the taillight. The middle clear lens has white LEDs for the backup light. Now, this is a recessed grommet design. It is designed to install into a rubber grommet. Now, that rubber grommet is not included. We do sell that separately on our website. It's part number A70 GB. Now, this slide is hardwired and ready to install. The wire length, as you can see, is eight inches and the configurations of the wire, the black wire is your taillight, white is your ground, red is your stop and turn, and the brown is your backup light. This is DOT, Department of Transportation-compliant. It does meet the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 Requirements for Automotive Lighting. We mentioned it is a 12-volt light. Last thing is just the dimension on the light itself. So the overall length from one end to the other, 6 3/8 inches long. Width on it, 2 1/4 inches wide. And the total depth of the light, right at one inch deep.
