Hi, everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Let's take a look at this Lippert short trailer brake drum for 10,000 pound axles. So folks, if your trailer's brakes are showing signs of wear constantly over and over, then potentially you need to replace a worn brake drum. That may be the issue. It's essential for maintaining safe and reliable stopping power.
Now, this Lippert is 12 1/4 inch across by 3 3/8 inches deep. And this is a direct replacement for that 10,000 pound. Now, this is what we call a short brake drum. And by short I mean, if you look, it's basically flat all the way across the front here. There's no protrusion sticking out, like on some of the other models.
Basically this is designed for trailers with shorter spindles and so thus the hub needs to be short. There's less spindle that's gonna extend beyond your bearings on those kind of applications. So, make sure you're replacing your brake drum with the exact same kind of brake drum assembly. So whether you're hauling a large fifth wheel, a toy hauler, equipment trailer, livestock trailer, those kind of things, you're gonna make sure that you get the right brake drum for those demanding workloads. Now, this works with both electric or hydraulic brake drum assemblies.
It's cast iron. If you don't already know, you'll have a idler hub that this goes over that's already on your trailer. This is an eight lug assembly. Again, rated for 10,000 pounds. 12 1/4 wide by, or 12 1/4 diameter by 3 3/8 inches deep.
This is cast iron, so you don't have to worry about rust, corrosion, heat, all that kind of stuff. This is gonna do an excellent job dealing with those kind of extremes. Folks, I'm Steven with etrailer. Thanks for watching. Have a good one.
