Today, we're going to take a look at the Titan weld-on adjustable channel brake actuator with the lunette ring for drum brakes. This has a 12,500 pound weight capacity. Now this hydraulic actuator will synchronize your trailer brakes with your tow vehicle brakes. Basically when you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle, deceleration occurs and the momentum will push your trailer toward the rear of your vehicle. So with a surge brake system, this actuator is triggered as your trailer moves forward. While the tow vehicle slows, the actuator itself will telescope, applies force to the master cylinder right back here, which internal supply, the necessary hydraulic pressure to engage your trailer brakes.This one you can see has a unique Rover design to it.
You can see the roller right up here. They use a grease circ fitting on the end that you can actually pump grease into it to lubricate it. This unique roller design will reduce resistance during the telescoping to create straight line movement. It's sturdy, durable steel construction resists bending in any jackknife situations. If you notice up at the front here, it has this adjustable channel.
That'll have three different mounting positions for your coupler. Now this one does include a lunette ring. It is included for use with Pendle hitches. And again, we got it set in the middle one. You can actually take these bolts out, move it up higher, take them out or move it out lower.Now the breakaway kit is included.
Let me just show you that it's a chain right here. This breakaway kit what'll happen is this chain will hook to your tow vehicle. And the breakaway kit is required because what'll happen is, is in a situation where if your trailer happens to come uncoupled from your tow vehicle, with this hook to the tow vehicle, it will pull up on this lever, which would also activate the master cylinder and put quickly apply the brakes to a runaway trailer.Now, this actuator does have a prime finish. It is a weld on installation. Again, the application for this is hydraulic drum brakes.
Mounting, this is designed to Mount onto a three inch wide channel tongue. We had mentioned the cup or the lunette bring up here. It has three different positions. So it does have a maximum range of four inches for height adjustment. Weight capacity on this is 12,500 pounds. And the maximum tongue weight is 1,250 pounds. And one last note I do want to mention on this is because this model does not include a reverse lockout, which is usually installed in the rear from the master cylinder. It is recommended that you equip your trailer with free backing brakes so that you can drive in reverse without triggering your trailer's brakes.
