The DeeMaxx Difference
When brakes retain heat, they are more likely to experience brake fade, or loss of braking power. DeeMaxx addresses this problem by incorporating drainage holes in the hat section of each vented rotor to provide even more ventilation than other brands. Combining these holes with the conventional venting allows DeeMaxx brakes to disperse heat faster. They're also able to shed moisture better, leading to less internal corrosion. The result is cooler-running, longer-lasting brakes that offer consistent performance.
DeeMaxx brakes are the only trailer brakes to satisfactorily pass the high standards of the SAE J2681 brake test. This test is designed to evaluate the friction performance of automotive brakes, so DeeMaxx's passing grade should tell you just how well made these products are.
The patented design of the caliper mounting bolt and sleeve makes installation easier while ensuring that the sleeves stay in place within the caliper. In addition, the side-support design of the caliper mounting bracket puts all of the weight on the bracket instead of on the bolts. This reduces premature wear and extends the life of the bolts, further ensuring optimal performance.
DeeMaxx brakes perform well even in the most demanding environments, which is one of the many reasons why they are preferred by law enforcement agencies like the Texas State Patrol, U.S. Border Patrol, and U.S. Coast Guard.
Great for Campers and Boat Trailers
If you own a trailer, you know that rust and corrosion will eventually creep up no matter where you tow, especially if your equipment doesn't have any kind of protective coating or plating. But if you tow your camper or trailer in the Midwest during the winter, or if you ever launch your boat in brackish water, you'll need even more protection because of the salt you'll likely encounter.
The Maxx coating on the rotors, calipers, and brackets in this kit helps to ensure that DeeMaxx brakes don't end up looking like the one pictured above. It offers great corrosion protection, even with occasional use in freshwater and saltwater. Rust-resistant coatings are graded according to a salt spray rating. Basically, this rating shows the amount of time it takes for a material to show signs of corrosion when exposed to pure, continuous salt spray. Zinc plating typically begins to deteriorate after about 100 hours. Dacromet usually lasts for around 300 to 400 hours. DeeMaxx's Maxx coating lasts for more than 1,000 hours in the salt spray test.
The environment this test creates is much harsher than anything you'll ever experience in your journeys, but it provides a testament to how well DeeMaxx brakes resist rust and corrosion.
If you're living the salt life full-time or you live right on the coast, you'll probably want to invest in something that offers even more protection, like DeeMaxx kits that include stainless steel components for the ultimate in corrosion resistance.
Get a Safer, More Comfortable Ride
Say goodbye to the days of your truck being pushed and pulled by your trailer. Disc brakes provide a safer, more comfortable ride than drum brakes. They offer shorter stopping distances and deliver consistent braking - even at highway speeds. So, you won't have to worry about things crashing around in your trailer or camper next time you reach unexpected traffic on the highway or debate if you can actually stop before that yellow light turns red.
Save Time and Money
More and more people are switching their trailers over to disc brakes. Not only do disc brakes provide more controlled braking than drum brakes, but they also save you money by having fewer parts to maintain.
Unlike drum brakes, which have springs, magnets, and shoes that may need to be continually adjusted or replaced, disc brakes are virtually maintenance-free. There are no springs, cables, or other little components that you'll need to worry about failing.
The brake pads will naturally wear down, so eventually you'll have to replace them. But these pads are also way easier to replace than drum brake shoes. And the caliper - where the pads are housed - is located on the outside of the brake assembly. This means you just have to remove that one part to replace the brake pads rather than having to remove the entire assembly like you would with drum brakes. The same is true for the slip-on rotors in this kit.
DeeMaxx also has simple instructions for bleeding the brakes laser-etched on the back of the calipers. This convenient time saver means you'll always have the guidance you need on hand when the time comes for maintenance.

I'm here with Brian from Jonesing To Go and he has brought his well, tell us about your setup a little bit. This is a 35-foot Montana by Keystone and right now, the way it sits loaded we're about 14,000 pounds. Today, we're gonna upgrade the brakes to hydraulic disc brakes. And this is something that I've been thinking about for quite some time. And when my wife decided that she's finally ready to start pulling the rig, I knew it's time. I've waited too long.
And so right now, I gotta be honest with you I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas. I can't wait to pull this thing and hit the brakes for the first time once this is done. I've heard nothing but fantastic things about what a difference it makes. And quite honestly, you know one close call on the road is one close call too many. And unfortunately, we have those on a regular basis.
So, you know, you always hear that term white knuckle. I don't know if it's white knuckle but when you're on the brakes on the truck and your hand is on the brakes on the brake controller all the way and you're just praying you get stopped in time you know, I've had enough of that. Now we're gonna take it in the shop and get our brakes installed. We're gonna meet up with Brian later and see what he thinks after. So we got the brakes installed, we're out on the road and this is really the maiden voyage with the disc brakes on.
So Brian tows his fifth wheel quite often, so I'm kind of excited to see his reaction as he stops. So once we get to a nice little straightaway we'll jab the brakes and see what it does. So we're on just kind of a industrial straightaway here. So Brian, go ahead, hit the brakes. Wow, what a difference.
I don't think I've ever felt this thing stop like this ever. Since the day it was new. Brad And gain's set at At five. Brad What do you normally have it at Nine. Brad Well, that's good. At nine, it's never, ever braked like this, ever. In fact, there's been times I've wondered if I'm getting stopped at nine. I'm excited about not only being able to stop, but the maintenance is gonna be so much easier. Oh my God, did you feel that (Brad laughs) I hardly pressed the brake. I think he's pretty happy. Yeah. I think he's gonna enjoy these. Now speaking of braking we've actually done a little bit of tests in our parking lot and it's not exactly out on the highway testing but what we've done is we've gotten up to about 15 miles per hour in our parking lot and just used the trailer brakes at full gain and allowed the drum brakes to do what they can to stop it. Now we've gone ahead and done the exact same braking test. Now just with our DeeMaxx brakes installed. Now for a quick visual reference you can see our cone over here to my left and that's where the front of the truck was before with his drum brakes. You can kind of see where his truck is now. So obviously, it's made a huge difference. We went from 117 foot down to 53. So more than half of what we had before. Imagine that being a car on the highway and you have to make a quick movement. Instead of being there, you can be here. So we've just gone ahead and done our post disc brake installation test. What do you think about that (stutters) I'm speechless. I knew it was gonna be good, I knew it was gonna be better. I hoped it would be that, and it definitely is. I'm confident in everything we do now. I'm confident when my wife is behind the wheel towing this now. Before, I wasn't so sure 'cause she's just learning. I don't know why I didn't do it before. Absolutely, and that's really for a towing experience confidence is everything. Being able to be comfortable behind the wheel and not white knuckle makes your trip enjoyable. And the best when it comes to brakes that's definitely something to it's something you wanna put your hat on saying that you have the best brakes because without stopping, well it makes for a not so great experience. It makes a bad day if you can't stop in time. One close call is one close call too many but they're very frequent out there because even though we drive defensively and leave space between cars especially in a metropolitan area there's always that one person that cuts in hits their brakes and, you know you don't know what they're thinking or what they're doing. We can drive as defensively as we want, it's the other guy. And reaction time is everything but the fact that I have the ability to stop now means the world to me. That's awesome. Thank you so much, Brian. Thank you.

Perfect fit to the original trailer bra kes!
DeeMaxx parts seem to last longer in our saltwater than the Kodiak. I had both until the Kodiaks locked up. I bought this set to replace the Kodiaks that were a couple years newer than the Deemaxx.
Fast, nice, happy
