Tpday, we're going to be taking a look at part number YR800B. This is the Yates Blue Keel Roller for boat trailers. It's designed to replace one keel roller on your trailer. It's going to ease the loading and unloading of your boat. It's going to support the bottom of the boat as it sits on the trailer. It's going to help absorb road shock while the boat is being towed during travel.

This is constructed TPR technology, that's thermal plasticized rubber. That's a non-marking, non-scratching material, stronger and more durable than your traditional rubber and it's going to be softer and more pliant than polyurethane. The product is made in the USA. Take a look at the dimensions real quick starting with the length. That's going to give us a measurement of about 7 3/4 inch and then the diameter measuring this point right here from edge to edge, that's going to give us a measurement, looks to be about 3 1/8 inch in diameter. This is designed for 8-inch wide brackets with a 5/8 inch diameter shaft.

That's going to do it for today's look at part number YR800B.

I always prefer to buy American made products and this Yates keel roller is Made in USA. This roller will replace the original black rubber roller that came on my 1988 Shorelander boat trailer. Except when I put the boat in the water, the boat is sitting on the trailer. Over time the original roller developed a "flat spot" and would not roll. I expect this durable synthetic roller will keep its shape. I like the color.

My boat trailer on South Bass Island "Put-In_Bay" is in need of four keel rollers which

Nobody else had these good looking blue rollers for my trailer...except etrailer.com. The bow roller was easy to install in about 5-10 minutes of time. The etrailer.com customer service is excellent!

The Yates keel roller mounted and looks great but my main reason for taking time to write this review was the customer service I received from Michelle S. I made a mistake on my internet order. I called the next day when I reviewed the order confirmation and realized my mistake. Michelle stopped the first order, revised my parts list and I received the parts in 3 days. I will go back to etrailer with my next order.

The whole order process was a snap. Pat C was very knowledgeable of the products and very efficient in getting the complete order out to me, I received it within three days.
I will send pictures of the boat trailer once I finish installing all the parts, I am working on a 15' center console boat for my 9 year old grandson that I need to complete before the school year is out. Is CE Smith Keel Roller Made In The USA
Hi Frank; the CE Smith Keel Roller for Boat Trailers # CE29517 is made in Taiwan. A lot of CE Smith products are made in the USA but this is not one of them. I see you already found a keel roller from Yates # YR800B. All of their products are made in the USA.

Options to Replace Calkins Double Roller Assembly on Boat Trailer
We do have similar replacement keel rollers to what you currently have, such as the Yates # YR800B, however we don't have any double roller brackets like your existing Calkins model. Since they are no longer in business your only option is likely to replace them with an entirely new setup. Is There a Difference Between Blue and Yellow Yates Keel Rollers
Both the blue/purple 8 inch keel rollers like part # YR800B and the yellow part # YR800Y are essentially the same thing just different colors. These are non-marking style rollers which is the way to go as the black ones will leave marks.

Shaft and Pal Nuts to Mount Yates Rubber 8 Inch Keel Roller YR800B
If you already have a shaft and other hardware for keel roller # YR800B then you do not have to replace them unless they are damaged or corroded. You will want the shaft to run the entire length of the roller for support. A bolt would only work if it was the entire length of the roller and then it would basically be a shaft.
