Specs:

Typically installed upright on the crossmembers of a boat trailer, panel brackets hold keel and spool rollers that help to keep the boat moving while it is being loaded and to stabilize the keel.

Galvanized Steel

Galvanized steel parts are hot-dipped in zinc after being stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

Because my boat would almost never load in a centered position on my trailer, I added three of these along the keel area for my deep V boat, I added rollers in these brackets that taper to the center of the roller and my boat loads perfectly the first time every time.

Galvanized bracket seems strong and made to last. Good price for what it is.

Gave it four stars because one of the roller shaft holes had to be cleaned out with a drill bit to allow the roller shaft to go through the hole.

Overall the this bracket, roller and rod are sturdy and will do the job. Only trouble I had was there was excess galvinizing material blocking the hole for the roller rod. I had to clear it up with a file. Not a big deal but I hope it doesn't leave a gap in the galvinizing.

Galvanized finish had a chip, but I plan to paint it anyway. Otherwise seems high quality. I bought one locally that is too big and allows the roller bushings to pop out. This measures 12.25 inches width, so it should fit the roller well.

Everything was great!
Roller bracket is heavy, not tinny at all.
The winch bolt pattern was different then my trailer but the trailer is a 1987 so no big deal!

How To Help With Centering Boat On Trailer When Loading
I have a few options to help with loading the boat on the trailer but the best would have to be the CE Smith Keel Roller for Boat Trailers part # CE29505. In order to mount them you'd need the Roller Shaft with Pal Nuts part # CE10727A and CE Smith Panel Bracket part # CE10305G. I would stick with the same type of roller for the front and rear of the boat trailer.

Length Of Shaft Needed For 12" Roller With End Caps On Both Ends
Hi Melissa, You can definitely install 2 of # YR224-5 end caps on the ends of the # DL21554 while on the # CE10305G bracket, but not with the # CE10727A roller shaft. Each end cap will add 1-1/2" of length so you would need a roller that is at least 15-1/2" long to accommodate the extra length and a little more for the pal nuts to have a good purchase area. Capacity of YR12244-125EC Yates Rubber Boat Trailer Keel Roller
According to Yates Rubber, the # YR12244-125EC roller technically carries a 400 lb capacity, but the roller shaft like # CE10727A and the mounting bracket like # CE10305G do most of the heavy lifting. The 12 inch roller part # YR12243-5 that you referenced is designed to fit the CE Smith Panel Bracket # CE10305G. You would just need the roller shaft part # CE10727A which comes with pal nuts and you would be set. The top of the roller will end up being 4 inches from the mounting surface. The hole on the # CE10305G is 2-3/4 inches from the mounting surface, and then half of the diameter of the roller part # YR12243-5 is 1-1/2 inches.

Can CE Smith Galvanized Panel Bracket be Used with a Stainless Steel Shaft
CE Smith Panel Bracket # CE10305G is galvanized steel but the method of which the zinc coating was applied would not matter in terms of galvanic or dissimilar metal corrosion. Stainless steel and galvanized steel work well together with only a slight and minor chance of there being any corrosion. Of course in salt water environments it will increase that chance. So you can use a stainless steel shaft. This bracket takes a 5/8 inch diameter shaft. We do not have stainless steel shafts though...
