If you want a clean, factory look when you’re not towing, this setup delivers. The crossbar-style brackets sit far back on the frame so the front end stays uncluttered. Once the removable drawbars are out, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible, tucked inside the grille where they stay protected from scrapes and scuffs.
The drawbars attach and remove quickly thanks to the twist-lock system. Each arm clicks into place when inserted, locking securely for towing. When you’re done, pull the built-in rings to unlock, twist them back out, and your front end is clear again. It’s simple enough that one person can handle it without a struggle.
This base plate kit is built from computer-cut, all-steel components for exceptional strength. The black powder coat finish adds durability and corrosion resistance so it keeps its integrity through thousands of miles of road time. The plate mounts directly to the frame with no welding required, giving you a sturdy connection that holds up trip after trip.
The kit includes custom-fit base plates designed for precise alignment with your vehicle’s frame points, so installation is straightforward with the included instructions and hardware. It’s compatible with Roadmaster tow bars when used with the quick-disconnect crossbar (910021-00, sold separately). For installation, fish wire bolt leaders (80101-1, sold separately) are required to complete the setup.
The drawbars, or front arms, on the crossbar-style series base plate kit are supremely easy to mount and remove. Just insert them into the brackets and twist to lock them in place. To remove, simply twist the arms back and pull them out. Once the drawbars have been removed, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible. On most automobiles, the brackets are mounted within the grille, where they remain not only unseen, but protected from scrapes and scuffs.

I checked with Roadmaster directly and it is not that the base plates were manufactured incorrectly, it is that Ford made running changes to the vehicle. In the instructions it is mentioned that you will want to use all the bolts and parts in the kit. If the bolts or other fasteners are no longer the corret size due to to changes in the vehicle then you will want to make sure that the base plate is securely fastened to the vehicle. I have not had other reports on other Ford Fiastas where this was an issue.

Thanks for the review and for sharing your installation experience Christian. Your tip about leaving the bumper on during install is really helpful, especially since fitting the ends through the louvers can take a little extra maneuvering. It’s also great to hear the setup works well with your Stowmaster 5000. The install looks great, and we appreciate you sharing the picture! Where did you go for the first trip?

Everything related to my Mini towing system is working great after a year of use.i do wish I had bought a cover for the tow bar though. Keeping it clean would be easier with the cover. Great products and service from etrailet

New system working fine. As with previous system it requires towed vehicle to be nearly perfectly aligned straight behind motorhome to disconnect without considerable tension.

After one year, this product has proven to be well worth the expense. We flat-towed our 2016 Ford Fiesta all the way across the country without any issues. The product worked exactly as described, and was very user friendly. Highly recommended.
