Easily Install, Remove, and Carry Your Hitch Head
The HitchGrip is a simple tool that makes it easy to install, remove, and maneuver your weight distribution head assembly. Dealing with an oversized ball mount or heavy weight distribution head can be a real headache. These assemblies can be heavy, awkward to handle, dirty, and genuinely uncooperative. But with the HitchGrip carrying tool, you can do what is needed with your assembly as quickly, cleanly, and painlessly as possible.
The HitchGrip makes it easy to get a good grip on your head assembly. As a result, you won't drop your expensive, heavy equipment, nor will you strain your back trying to awkwardly carry it. It also allows for proper leverage so that you don't have to wiggle and shake the assembly to install or remove it. This saves time and eliminates frustration. And because you don't actually have to touch your head assembly when you use the HitchGrip, you can avoid getting grease and grime onto your hands. This allows you to go from task to task without needing to clean your hands in between.
How to Use the HitchGrip Carrying Tool
First, position the HitchGrip to the side of your hitch ball with the handle pointing toward the rear of your vehicle. Then tilt the tool downward and slide it onto the ball to engage. Make sure that the HitchGrip is centered over the ball mount or hitch head so that the weight will be evenly distributed. Then lift up on the handle of the HitchGrip so that the carbide tips grip the underside of the ball. Once the tool has a good grip on the ball, you can carry and maneuver your ball mount with ease. When you install your ball mount in your hitch receiver, you can also use the HitchGrip to easily line up the hitch pin holes.
Recommended Clearance for Drop Hitches
If your ball mount or head assembly is in the drop position, the HitchGrip may not work on your setup. In order to ensure a good grip and proper leverage, it is recommended that you have no more than 4-1/4" between the top of the hitch head and the top of your trailer hitch receiver. If there isn't enough space between the tool and the top of the hitch head you may not be able to get your hand securely around the handle.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this HitchGrip carrying tool for your weight distribution head assemblies. Now, this simple tool is going to make it very easy for you to install, remove, and maneuver your weight distribution head assembly. As you know, dealing with an oversized ball mount or a heavy-duty, heavy-weight distribution head can be a real headache. Those assemblies can be heavy, they can be awkward to handle, dirty, and genuinely uncooperative. But with this carrying tool, you're going to be able to do what is needed with your assembly quickly, cleanly, and painlessly.
This tool makes it easy to get a good grip on your head assembly. So as a result, you're not going to drop your expensive, heavy equipment, nor will you strain your back trying to awkwardly carry it. As you can see there on your screen with the orange version of this tool, which we do carry, this is going to allow for proper leverage so that you don't have to wiggle or shake the assembly to install or remove it. This is going to save you time, it's going to eliminate frustration, and because you don't actually have to touch your head assembly when you use this tool, you're going to be able to avoid getting grease and grime onto your hand. So, this is going to allow you to go from task to task without needing to clean your hands in between.
So this is a simple, easy-to-use design, no moving parts, and the glass-filled nylon body and handle are going to evenly distribute the weight of your ball mount. And then the tungsten carbide tips are going to firmly grip and hold the hitch ball. And then the powder coated 12-gauge steel plates are going to reinforce the carbide tips for added strength. So this is going to work with ball mounts and weight distribution head assemblies with the 2-5/16-inch ball. And the maximum recommended drop is 4-1/4 inches, from bottom of the hitch ball, or top of the hitch head to top of the receiver opening.
And then the maximum ball neck diameter is going to be 1-5/16 inches. And this cannot fit around a ball neck with a diameter that's greater than 1-5/16 inches. So if you happen to have any other questions about this tool or anything else that we carry, don't hesitate to reach out. We do want to make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy.
Thank you for joining me.

Extremely slow shipping. Product is very helpful but you need to be careful keeping the weight centered or it easily slips out the side and drops.
