Today we're going to be taking a look at the Dutton Lainson trailer coupler grip handle. The coupler grip is going to provide an easier, cleaner and safer way to move your trailer, and to guide the tongue to and from the hitch ball. This is going to fit 1 and 7/8th inch and 2 inch couplers by bolting onto the side with universal mount holes. It's designed for all class one, two and three couplers. It will accept 3/8th or 1/2 inch diameter bolts. It's going to be ideal for personal water craft and other lightweight trailers. Nice steel construction with a zinc plated tough plate finish.
It's going to to help it last a long time and it's going to keep it safe from rust and corrosion. It's got the nice, large comfortable hand grip with the finger indention there. That hand grip does spin for an easy hold. It is securely in place, ensuring that it won't accidentally slide off. I do want to mention that if your coupler is welded to the trailer tongue and there are no side holes in the tongue, you can drill holes using the holes on the handle or the holes on the coupler as a guide. It's a bolt on installation.
It's made right here in the USA. A few measurements to go over with you real quick, these holes are going to be separated on center by 3 inches. Then you can see it has a smaller area there that would be for smaller hardware, those are separated on center by about 2 and 1/4 inches. Nice universal design, allows it to fit a variety of couplers and mount hole configurations. Overall length of the unit measuring from edge to edge is going to be about 6 and 5/8ths of an inch and then the distance that we have from the mounting area to the handle is going to measure right around 2 and 1/4 inches. That's basically just measuring this gap right here.
I do have a coupler here, just so you can see how the unit would fit on there. Again, bolt on installation. Lines up with the holes right there, and that's just going to allow you to easily move the trailer around and to easily guide the tongue to and from the hitch ball for an easier connection. That's going to do it for today's look at the Dutton Lainson trailer coupler grip handle.

Great products with best prices.
Have used these in past but local hardware store doesn't carry them. Quick and easy add on to make hook ups that much simpler.
The coupler grip handle was exactly what I was after. They are hard to find here locally ... but you can always count on etrailer to have what you need. I've got 6 trailers of all different kinds, so needless to say, I'm a frequent shopper of etrailer. They've always got what you need. They are quick to answer any and all questions. And talk about prompt shipping! They are great! And about the coupler grip handle? It's great quality. It fit perfectly. And etrailer has it at a great price.
It's pretty well made, the main problem is that the bolt holes don't align with the bolts in the trailer hitch. This is obviously not for heavy trailers because a person can't lift a heavy trailer, so why not make the bolt holes align with something almost every small trailer / log splitter has, a hitch. Hitch bolts patterns are pretty standard. Use your welder, fill in one hole and then drill another hole to fit your hitch bolts.
Installed this on a Troy Built Wood Splitter to make it easier to move around and it works great. Sure beats grabbing the coupler to move the splitter short distances or park it in the garage.
Bolt holes lined up perfectly with the holes in the 2 inch ball coupler.
The plastic hand grip rotates for a comfortable grip.
It helps and less stress on my old back.
I installed the first of several grip handles today! Beautifully made and in the USA! etrailer.com has been great in supplying quality product with professional service.
I don't think, that for what it is, you could find a better product. My little trailer is single axel 10 wide x 16 long with large 15 inch tires. I can move it, drop it on the ball, push/pull just about any direction and not strain.
Thanks

Its working great, frequently used, its like new.
I had an older version of this trailer handle and found it to really help whenever I needed to lift and move my tilt trailer. This newer version with a moveable hand grip is even better. I had it installed on my small boat trailer within 1hr. after the mailman delivered it. An easy installation with a perfect fit.

Great product still using it.
I bought this handle for my small flatbed utility trailer. This multi purpose trailer is very light, and gets moved around in the yard by hand. In the past I could pick up from further back on the tongue, increasing the weight, OR grab the greasy hitch portion. This handle fits on the end perfectly, and is close to the latch, but not it the way. It is a rare pleasure to get something that solves a problem perfectly, but this handle does!

Seems to be a decent product,.. we'll see how well it holds up.
I bought one of these for a wood gathering trailer I was building, and like it so much I bought one to put on my splitter. Have bought lots of stuff from etrailer.com thru the years... always great prices and fast shipping. Thank You...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bolted right up to the trailer.
Night handle that does not dig into your hand when you lift trailer tongue.
It's just a handle, it won't change your life or make your problems disappear but its pretty handy when you need it.
I have already installed it on my trailer and it works great. Much better than grabbing the greasy part of the trailer to attach to the vehicle. No pinched fingers. Also easy to move the trailer around.
I don't know how you do it! 48 hours from order to delivery. Videos that show you exactly how to install. I don't even shop the competition any longer. ETrailer CONSISTANTLY exceeds my expectations with ease of website navigation, anxiety eliminating instructions, warp speed delivery, and prices that even Scrooge would approve!

The product easily bolted on and is very helpful in handling the trailer. The quick delivery was impressive.
