Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this UWS Matte Black Angled Low Profile Crossover Style Truck Bed Toolbox. Now, this crossover, saddle-style toolbox is designed to sit in the front of your truck bed behind your cab, and this is designed to mount onto your truck's bed rails with the included J-bolt mounting hardware that I have there in that bag. And as you probably know, the crossover design is going to keep this box from touching the bed of your truck, so that's gonna leave you additional space underneath the toolbox for stowing items, especially longer items, maybe like a ladder. And the low profile design is gonna make it very easy to see out of your back window, out of the cab of your truck. And the angled design is going to accommodate unique bed sizes and wheel well shapes.
So let me go ahead and pop this open for you. This box does use heavy-duty stainless steel, dual-locking twist-style handles, and as you can see, they're on both sides. The handles are widespread, making them very easy to reach from either the driver's side or the passenger's side of your truck. And of course, that stainless steel is going to provide that corrosion resistance, which is good since this is gonna be constantly exposed to the elements. Now, we do have a connecting rod that's going to allow for convenient operation, either from the driver's side or the passenger's side.
And this also features an interior rod enclosure that's gonna help prevent bending or jamming of the lock system. So as you're throwing items into the toolbox, you're not gonna have to worry about damaging the rod that connects these handles. Let me give you a brief overhead look. You can probably just barely see it, but we do have that enclosure there that's going to protect that rod. So I really like that about UWS boxes, this one in particular.
And so, that's going to be a a great feature. I wanna zoom in here on the driver's side handle here and this twist-style handle just to show you how this operates. So it is open right now, and then when you close your lid, you just simply turn it like that, and that's going to secure the lid shut. And then as you can see, this does include keys to lock this. And so, I'm gonna go ahead and just close my lid real quick here.
And then turn the handle, turn the key, release the key, and now, we are securely locked, it's just that simple. Now, what's nice about this is you can lock this either on the driver's side or the passenger's side. So if it's more convenient for you to lock this quickly when you're on the passenger's side, you can do that. Just remember that if you lock it on the passenger's side, you have to unlock it on the passenger's side. And vice versa, if you lock it on the driver's side, you have to unlock it on the driver's side. So wherever you lock it, whatever side you lock it, that's where you have to unlock it. And you could double lock it as well for additional security if you would like. So it is nice that you have that convenience. I'm gonna go ahead insert my key, unlock it, turn the handle, and then as you can see, it's going to slowly go up. We do have these gas cylinders on either side that's going to, as you saw, lift that lid and hold it open, and it can open just about a full 90 degrees. If you bend this back a little bit, that's gonna give you that full 90 degree opening. So that's gonna give you plenty of space, plenty of room to load up the inside of this box. And this does have a piano hinge that runs the whole length of the box. Now, looking on the overhead inside again, I just kinda wanna give you a view of the inside there. I know it's a little bit dark in there because of the finish, but this 63 7/8 inches long toolbox has a total inside capacity of seven cubic feet. So you're gonna have plenty of room for your tools, your tool boxes, and other items that you wanna put in your box. And what's also nice about this is this does have a three compartment sliding tray for smaller items, maybe like your screwdrivers, tape measures, things like that. So things that you want to have readily at your fingertips, you can use this tray for. It slides across the length of the box, and then you can also remove it as well. If it's in your way and you need to put something in there, you can pop that out, put in the larger item, and then pop that tray back in. So again, a nice touch that this box provides. This also features one of my favorite things, a BedRug liner. It's kinda like a padded carpet that we have in there. And that's going to protect the contents of this box, so you're not gonna have to worry about your tools getting beat up as you have it in this box. It's also gonna help reduce noise and allow for easy cleaning. The liner is held in place with hook and loop fasteners, so you're gonna be able to detach the liner, remove it, clean it if you'd like, and then place it back in when it's dry. So, very convenient, and another nice touch that this box provides. On the inside of our lid, let me zoom back out here, and hopefully, you can see it. Running along the perimeter, the inside perimeter of our lid, we do have a microseal gasket that's gonna help seal out moisture, dust, and dirt. And this box features a patented foam-filled lid that UWS toolboxes are known for. This lid is actually filled with solid foam that's going to strengthen it against bending or warping, reinforcing the shape and strength of the lid. And it's probably hard for you to see, but we do have these ports that run along the inside of this lid, and that's where they fill the lid in with foam. And on some of these ports, you can actually see a little foam sticking out, so that's letting you know that your lid is reinforced with foam on the inside. Now, this does feature a extra thick aluminum tread plate construction with this really nice, really attractive, and I think a really durable matte black finish. So this is going to be rustproof, and the seams are fully welded. This box weighs about 43 pounds or so. And let me go ahead and provide you some overall dimensions, so you can be confident that this is going to work in your truck. So looking at the overall length first, and the longest point of this box is going to be the lid, so measuring across at the longest point here at the lid, we're sitting at about 63 7/8 inches long. And the overall width, again, the widest point's gonna be this lid, is 20 inches wide. And the overall height is gonna be 14 3/4 inches tall. You will want to add about one inch to those dimensions to figure a clearance for the lid itself. And then the base dimensions, looking at the center here, we are sitting right at 53 inches long, and at the bottom here, we're sitting at 38 3/4 inches long. And then the overall width, we're sitting at 17 inches wide, and then the overall height, we're sitting at about 11 3/4 inches tall. And just so you know, this is going to sit about two inches above your truck's bed rails. So this does have a limited lifetime warranty from UWS. And I just wanna point out that you don't have to slam this lid shut or anything like that, with those gas struts, this is gonna be a very smooth operation. So you're not gonna have to worry about trying to force this thing shut, once you have the lid down, you just turn those handles, and then it's gonna be closed. (box thudding) Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
