Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Inno Ceiling Mount Fishing Rod Carrier for eight fishing rods. Now, this is an interior rod holder, it is designed to contour to your car's interior roof, and it holds your fishing rods inside the vehicle up against the roof to maintain the head space inside the vehicle. It is a ceiling mount holder, and it'll carry up to eight fishing rods inside the vehicle. It's compatible with 1-piece trout, bass, jigging, and boat fishing rods, and also 2-piece fly, sea bass, and boat fishing rods. Now, the rods themselves, it is compatible with 22 millimeter to 32 millimeter grip diameter on your fishing rod, and 16 millimeter on the top side.
They do use these clamp style holders. Just wanna zoom in and show you what we're talking about. If you noticed right here, to hold your handle, you can see that it's a clamp style holder, has a nice push button release, you just push up on the button, and you can notice that it'll release it. Put your fishing rod in there, and then just push this up and it'll latch it in place, just like that, very easy to install. And what's nice is on the inside, if you notice where your handle goes, it's all a nice foam material all the way around, so once you squeeze it up in there, it's gonna protect your fishing rod from any damage.
Now, this whole holder is a nice lightweight aluminum construction, it has a very easy installation, it comes with the included hardware, and what's nice about this, zoom back out, right here on the side here, you can see they use these new mounting system that'll grip around your grab handle, so there's no need to have to remove the grab handle, you just set this, tighten this up, and same on that side, no grip around the ground handle. Now, one note I do wanna mention is the distance between the base of your driver's side and passenger side grab handles must be between 35 1/2 inches to 47 inches to install this fishing rod holder. Again, the carrying capacity is for eight fishing rods, total carrying capacity weight is 15 pounds, and again, I wanted to show you this. This is multiple adjustments on this, in other words, right here, you have these knobs that if you loosen these knobs, both of those will allow you to slide this side to side, to align your rods up, so they don't hit anything, and it also allow you to slide that front to back. Once you get it into position you need, then just go ahead and tighten the knobs down, one on this side, one on this side, and it'll do it on the other end also, adjustable the same way, and these longer rods here side to side are adjustable.
You just have a little latch handle that you release, same way there, and that'll allow you to go this way and that way, so it's fully adjustable. Once you get in the right position, just clip it into place, and also on this, to fit the contour of your roof, you can remove this plastic handle, and you'll notice here that, again, another knob that you can loosen, and it'll let you adjust the angle up or down to the angle inside your vehicle. Once you get it up against your roof, just go ahead and tighten that down, and then just go ahead and put your cover right back on there, so it has multiple adjustments to make this fit or your vehicle. It does come with what mentioned all the hardware, a nice set of instructions that describe how this installs. But that should do it for the review on the Inno Ceiling Mount Fishing Rod Carrier for eight fishing rods..

This ceiling-mounted holder lets you carry up to 8 1-piece or 2-piece fishing rods inside your vehicle. Installs using the factory mounting holes for your vehicle's grab handles. Push-button clamps hold the rods in all directions.Install was kinda finicky. Works great though. Installed on a 2011 Subaru Forester. Longest pole is 7'1" and definitely curves on the windshield above the visor. Also don't think a third pile will fit. Still recommend this and I'll probably order another.
I am an avid fisherman but live in an apartment in a big city with little space for gear - this is probably my favorite purchase of the past year! It’s fits perfectly in my 2016 Subaru Forester, and holds everything from fly rods to assembled freshwater rods to surf rods (in 2 pieces). My gear now safely lives in the car and I’m always able to stop by on my way home from work for 30 mins of fishing or have less hassle when I need to get up at 4am to get to the shore by sunrise
I have been using it for a year and got an email from etrailer ask if I want to do a review - yes I do:
This is not a popular rack on the market, I’ve been specifically search this type, this one does a very good job for me.
I don’t carry much rods, 3 is enough. The way it holds the rod is very convenient for stop - fish - go and it doesn’t affect the cargo space. The design is simple and the quality is good.
Only thing is the little claw holds the rod tips tends to drop when driving on bumpy road, not a big issue, just keep an eye on it.
I’m actually considering to install a new one on the other side.
Great rack, once you get it mounted - which is a MAJOR PITA...
I really wish it had better designed mounting system, current system is extremely difficult to use.
This is great product and exactly what I was looking for.
I installed it on my father's van 2016 Honda Odyssey.
It had square grab handle holes, not regular one with the screws.
So I had to use the small square metal piece that go inside of the square holes to use the screws. (they are included)
I felt like those square metals were too small for the holes because they kept coming off.
Also I had to use the spacers because the beams were touching the a/c controls and vents. (spacers are included)
It is very easy to install, all you need is Philips head screw driver, took me about 30 -40 min to install and if I didn't have to use spacers, it would've taken less.
Have always been looking for a better solution for safely carrying fly rods and came across this product when I saw a guide using one. Love that it doesn't get in the way of passengers when not in use and that I don't have to break it down or take it out between fishing trips.
