Features to know about

Confident Climbing on Snow and Ice: Grooved Square Links Bite Hard

When steep snowy roads or icy driveways try to stop you, these grooved square links dig in and keep you moving. The ladder pattern lays out solid traction with each forward roll, cutting through snow, ice, and even mud. You get grip where it counts, with the added stability that helps when climbing grades or crossing slick stretches.

Spend Less Time Adjusting Chains: Built-In Cams Simplify Tensioning

Getting chains snug around your tires doesn’t need to be a struggle. The integrated cams let you twist them tight with the included wrench until the fit is firm. No need to wrestle or drive back and forth. If you want an extra secure fit, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be added for peace of mind on longer drives.

Step 1 of Pewag tire chain installation—chains laid out flat on the ground to check for twists or tangles before mounting on tire.

Step 2 of Pewag tire chain installation—chain draped evenly over the tire with prongs facing outward from sidewalls.

Step 3 of Pewag tire chain installation—user connecting and tightening the chain ends behind the tire.

Step 4 of Pewag tire chain installation—using the cam tool to twist and tighten the cams for a secure tension fit.

Step 5 of Pewag tire chain installation—checking and tightening chain tension with optional rubber adjusters after short drive.

Keep Driving Season After Season: Reversible Links Extend Chain Life

These chains are built to last. Each link can be flipped and used on either side, so when one side starts to wear, you just reverse the chain and keep going. That smart design doubles the usable life of the set, giving you more miles of winter traction before replacement.

Built to Handle Harsh Winter Use: Nickel Manganese Alloy Steel Construction

Heavy snow, ice, and road grit can chew through ordinary chains, but not these. Made from nickel manganese alloy steel, they’re resistant to wear and corrosion. The case-hardening process toughens the outer layer while keeping the core strong and flexible. It’s a setup designed to take the pounding of deep snow and icy runs without giving up.

Ready for a Range of Tires: Fits 15"–22" Sizes

If you run larger tires or switch between setups, these chains have you covered. They’re sized to fit a wide range of tires from 15" up to 22", giving you traction versatility across multiple rigs or wheel combinations when winter hits.

Note

  • Important: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Great product. Use Pewag's sizing chart.

Quinn was awesome with helping me figure out what Pewag chains that were right for my truck because I insisted on an American made product.
Thanks again Quinn!!!

Good price, great service, speedy delivery everything an online transaction should be. My item has only been in my possession approximately 4 hours have not checked to see how it fits yet.. the etrailer already chomping for a review so I'll go ahead and give it to em.. oh look they want photos to ?LOL? Not sure what I'm supposed to take a photo of? it's dark outside! I think all this junk started with China's social rating jazz but Who knows? so far so good

by:

We use these on our Frieghtliner M2's and these are the only chains that we haven't had break. I will only use pewag in the future.

by:

Used Christmas Eve in 10 inches of snow. F150 climbed two miles, up to a mountain neighborhood, for family gathering. Easy to fit. Didn't loosen.

by:

I've not used the chains as of yet, however, the quality of the chains is unbelievable...
If your on the fence about which brand to buy consider this to be a great choice if you are looking for quality and satisfaction.

Nice Chains---The chains we received were for a light truck. The tires we have are P215 70R15 and the chains do not fit. We need 2 more links to make them even come close to closing. We have the truck in the garage in ideal conditions--but if we were out on the road---this is impossible. Sent an e-mail to e-trailers and waiting for a response. Also, 2 of the side links have been put on backwards from the factory.

by:

These chains are excellent. Made in USA from what appears to be an Austrian company. This size fit a 2019 lX570 very well. 275/50-21 Way easier to install and more traction than cable chains.

by:

Great traction in deep snow or hard packed snow/ice.

by:

Service that can’t be beat. Ordered and received snow chains in mere days and just before the January 2022 blizzard . Pamela, you’re awesome.

by:

Great set of chains, fit as they should, and best of all, THEY ARE NOT FROM CHINA. The service from etrailer was great as usual.

by:

Normally don’t write reviews like this, but making an exception in this case. I ordered this set of Pewag chains on a Sunday evening and had them in my possession the following Wednesday morning. The quality of the chains are excellent, but the quality of the service I received was exceptional! I cannot remember the last time I received customer service like this? I received a personal phone call regarding my order and emails updating me of its progress. Even received an email after delivery making sure I was happy! Makes me want to complete another purchase! THANK YOU!!!

by:

Holding up real good so far. my only complaint is the chain tightening tool is pretty weak. I'm using the tool from a cheap set

by:

It is always a great experience working with or ordering from etrailer. I have yet to be disappointed with any of the products they carry. I will continue to use etrailer as my trusted provider.

by:

I got the glacier multi arm adjusters and these Pewag chains best purchase I made for Montana elk hunt 2019. Snowed every day in mountains. Had to break a trail every day in order to keep road open. Worked great under tough conditions.

by:

Purchased for 2016 Sprinter 4WD 140. Very pleased. Works well here in Pacific NW snow and ice. Heavy chain, but installs easy enough. Will need designated storage space. Great service and delivery.

by:

I bought the chains, the Titan chain adjuster #TCMA3 and the cam tightening tool and all work great. The chains fit my 245 60/R20 tires just as expected. I used the drape over method to test out the chains, but I would probably try to roll onto them in practice because the tire is so big, there's some space between cross chains when I brought the ends together. I could probably just drive a bit and then retighten them.

by:

Am glad to have these chains just in case and for the trips through the mountains :) They are very high quality, Pewag is the best for chains, whether for snow tire or security.. I bought a cheaper set (A different brand) a few years back from one of your local auto parts stores, one of the links broke the first day I used it, very low quality.. Sometimes it is a bummer upfront paying the higher cost for quality, but in the long run it is always worth it.. These Pewag chains can not be beat.. You can tell they built these to last, very strong and durable. The old chains I had might as well have been mesh wire compared to these bad boys.. Plus before I ordered I looked up the Versatility so these chains fit my 4runner now and they should fit my dream Land Cruiser that I am hoping to buy in a few years.

I am always very impressed with ordering from Etrailer.. They are always very helpful, professional and seem to actually care about their customers; which many businesses seem to not anymore.. They ship quickly and I always seem to get what I ordered faster than I think it will take. Prices are very reasonable, People are great to work with. The way they run their business is the way it should be ran. I am very happy with this company and am glad to buy products from them, I always love helping supporting companies that do such a wonderful job at what they specialize in! You guys should carry the Pewag security chain as well. Thanks again!

by:

Great service provided by etrailer I will definitely purchase again when tire chains are needed. As for the chains themselves, very impressed with the quality and ease at which they install. Have purchased Pewag chain before so I new the quality, would be there and it is.

by:

Haven't used on the road yet, since luckily I didn't encounter snow/ice on my recent drive... but did try on. Their etrailer web site clearly specified what size of tires the chains fit and the details of the specific chain models, like type U. The Sprinter manual specified type U chains. Delivery was per their commitment. Fit is good and triple cam method seems that it will work well to keep the chains snug on the tires. The only thing that seems that could be improved, is the cams are tightened and loosened with a supplied L shaped tool. If this was a T shaped tool, this would allow better leverage to be applied to the cams. Thanks

by:

Quality made chains are priceless! We run Pewag chains on our trucks and equipment and get great life and performance from the all square chains.

by:

So far, these chains look like they will deliver. I wanted something better than a cable chain that only lasts one storm. In my local, we typically get freezing rain with temperatures in the 30's. These should be good on ice. Installation was fairly easy and the cam tensioners pulled the chains tight. I also ordered the chain tensioning bungie.

by:

Pewag PWE2228SC chains are nothing fancy. Good old traditional design. Came in a canvas bag with no closure. Successfully mounted them on P165/70R17 tires. Have not tested them in real-life snowy conditions. After chains are on, should drive vehicle 1/4 to 1/2 tire revolution, then tighten chain hooks further. Adding additional tension cords almost a must. Picture shows chain loosening at 6 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions after driving only a few feet. Consider adding threaded chain link to tie down extra free links to prevent them from flopping around when driving. Flopping chains are know to cut brake and ABS lines and cause other damage to the vehicle, especially if chains are installed on front tires. Thule XG12 Pro may be a better choice for front tires, because nothing flops around on the medial side of chains.

Customer service was beyond expectations. I received the incorrect chains and once I notified etrailer of the issue they immediately corrected it and I was on the road within a few days with new chains. Pewag quality remains and now my work truck and personal rig are outfitted the right way. Thanks!

  • Glacier Emergency V-Bar Snow Tire Chains for a 2018 Ford Expedition with 285/45-22 Tires
The Glacier Emergency Twist-Link Snow Tire Chains for Light Trucks - Web-Strap Fastener - 1 Pair Item # PW6087 are designed to fit all rims that are 15 to 18 inches so they will not fit your 22 inch rims. • Tire Chain Recommendations for 295/65R20 and 35x12.50x17 Tires on a 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500
I definitely have some chains that fit the tires you mentioned for your 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500, but since your tire sizes are very different you're going to need different sets of chains for the different tire sizes. Here is what I recommend for each tire size you mentioned: 295/65R20 - # PWE2226SC (also use Tensioners # PW103) 35x12.50x17 - # TC2337 The chains for the 20" rims are standard ladder-style chains which is why I recommend using the tensioners to give you a nice, snug...

There isn't one set that will fit both your 275/65/20 tires and 295/65/20 tires so I have recommended two sets below: For your 2015 Ford F-350 with 275/65/20 tires, I recommend the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains for Wide Base Tires item # TC3831. These chains have v-bar links which will give superior traction in deep snow and ice. The V-bars are really what make this set stand out. They have small studs that will dig into the ice for the best traction. They are designed for both on road...
