Features to know about

Effortless Installation: Plug and Play Design

No need to worry about cutting, splicing, or fiddling with wires! The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness takes the hassle out of connecting your trailer's lights. It simply plugs directly into your existing vehicle wiring, making the installation process fast and straightforward. This custom-fit creates a seamless integration that feels like it's part of the original vehicle design.

Seamless Signal Integration: Built-In Tail Light Converter

Trailers often operate on a two-wire system, where the brake and turn signals share a single wire. This can be a hassle if your vehicle uses a separate three-wire system for these signals. The built-in tail light converter in our harness effortlessly combines those signals, ensuring full compatibility and proper signal function between your vehicle and trailer. Your car's tail lights remain unaffected and function perfectly as usual.

Custom Fit for Perfect Compatibility: Designed for Your Specific Vehicle

Finding a harness that fits your specific vehicle can be challenging. This T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness is custom-engineered for a perfect fit on your ride. Designed to align with the precise specifications of your car, it ensures an accurate fit, minimizing the risk of faults or errors and maximizing efficiency for your Highlander or other compatible model.

Robust and Durable Construction: 16-Gauge Bonded Wire

Trailer connections need to withstand a lot of wear and tear. Our harness uses 16-gauge bonded wire, offering enhanced durability and longevity. It's designed to be tough against the elements, providing a reliable connection for your trailer lights. This solid construction means you can tow with confidence, knowing that your connection won’t let you down.

Maximum Power for Signals: Ample Amperage Capacity

Experience full functionality without compromising your vehicle's electrical system. With a maximum of 2.1 amps per circuit for stop/turn lights and 4.2 amps for tail lights, this wiring harness supports a robust power flow that easily handles your towing demands. This ensures that your trailer's lights are bright and responsive, increasing safety during your travels.

Electrical Specifications

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk or rear cargo area. It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

Note

This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Great instructions, went in pretty fast. Only difficulty is the wire coming up through panels. I made a small cut out to better fit the wire.

The wiring harness was perfect but the enclosed instuctions were not that good.
Use the websites instructional video which makes installing the harness easy. Overall an enjoyable experience.

by:

The wiring harness was easily installed by following the instructions that were included. All worked properly. I did route the harness thru one of the plugs on the left side and resealed around harness.

by:

Product was received as described and in good condition. The item was promptly dispatched on the same day and received by me earlier than my expected date.
The instructions were good and the installation was very easy.

by:

It would have been helpful to know the difference between one with a converter and one without and which one I might need. It installed fine but I probably didn't need one with a converter, it would have saved me a few bucks and would have been slightly easier to install.

Toyota Highlander

total time to install was just under an hour. this harness was installed in a highlander with 3rd row seats. the hardest part is removing and reinstalling the plastic trays for access. the directions are good but don't show any specifics on panel removal.

by:
2004 Toyota Highlander

The wiring was easy to install. The instructions were spot on. The hardest part was pulling out the plastic parts surrounding the wire access portals.

by:

I tried obtaining same device from local auto parts store. Item was similar but required power source from battery to work. It was not until the second one that I got after returning first that I reliase this. The item from etrailer went in easily and is working fine. Highly recommend this company for parts that work the first try.

I am completely satisfied with the wire harness for the Toyota SUV. The installation instructions were easy to follow. The harness was installed and working in less than 20 minutes. Thanks! Jim K.

2001 Toyota Highlander

It worked like a charmThe only problem I had was finding where in the world the grounding screw was in my 2001 Toyota Highlander. The instructions didn't do any good. I found it way up in the left side past the power adapter. The grounding cable could be a little longer in order for it to fit better, but other than that, no complaints. Shipping was SUPER FAST with "special shipping". Great experience!

Hyundai Azera

Works as advertised. This was the fifth passenger car to which I added a hitch for light duty towing of a utility trailer that I have regarded as my "pickup truck" without the hassles. The beauty of this item in comparison to inexpensive parallel wired with crimped wire attachments is that it doesn't disturb the normal speed of directional flashers. The only caution is when installing on the Azera, be careful not to pull plugs for individual tail light units. This is a well designed item.

Part of my job is leading the electrical trades group and quality is of utmost importance to me, it equates to longevity. I can't stand splices using using those cheap automotive connectors that become loose so when I saw this hitch kit I was pleased. It is non-invasive, clean and fantastically well-built. I always take too much time installing this type of thing and I put it in in my spare time in less than 30 minutes. you don't need to be an electrician to install, a DIY novice can do just as great of a job as an electrician, the brains are in the design. Thank you for making this available, I will be showing this to my team.

It's nice to be able to do this yourself fairly well. I realize asking for specific model instructions might be difficult when an item applies to multiple vehicles but I found the directions to not be the best. The routing they suggested wasn't as good as taking a minute to think about it yourself and route it cleaner and tighter into the provided space (04 Highlander for me). That being said the install is easy enough and only mildly frustrating to get it done. Not having to tap or drill to get the connector outside mounted near the hitch is also nice especially in my use case where if we tow 3 times a year with this vehicle, it's a busy year. I would recommend it and the plug and play features certainly are nice. If you go with this I suggest laying it out first and looking at where you want to run it and just taking a minute when fishing the ends with connectors on them through where they need to go. It's been a little over a year as I'm writing this review and since install I've had to spend no time working/modifying this at all.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendations for a 2005 Toyota Highlander
On the 2005 Toyota Highlander, the available hitches all clear the bumper and stick out past it about 4 inches, The Draw-Tite (75153) and Curt Hitch (13530) in this case are actually very similar, so it will look the same. Both hitches have the same basic specifications. They are all Class III hitches with 2 inch receiver openings. The Curt # 13530 is rated for weight distribution, with a 4000 lb GTW and a 400 lb TW rating, while the Draw-Tite model is not rated for weight distribution. I...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Dim Lights When Connected to 1987 Winnebago RV
I agree with your assessment. It sounds like there isn't a strong enough signal coming from your Winnebago. This could be a power issue or a ground issue. I recommend checking your ground connections to make sure they are bare metal to metal and free of any corrosion or debris. If that doesn't solve your issue, you may need to use a powered tail light harness like the Upgraded Heavy Duty ModuLite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector # C59496.

  • After Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2006 Toyota Highlander Sport Trailer Lights Do Not Work
There are some things you can do to determine if the issue is on the harness, # 118413, or somewhere else. First, make sure that the harness is grounded to a clean metal surface. There cannot be any paint where the harness is grounded. Also, if you are using a factory grounding point that is already occupied by 1 or more items then I recommend moving the harness ground elsewhere. Next you will want to test the wires going into the black converter box and the wires coming out. Use a circuit...
