Getting your trailer lights working shouldn’t mean cutting into factory wiring. This Curt T-Connector plugs directly into the vehicle’s existing tail light connectors, creating a clean, factory-style setup with a 4-pole flat trailer connector on the other end. It's always nice when you buy a product and it is the correct one the first time. I got this kit thinking it would be an all day event to figure out and instal. I was wrong! everything fit as it came. Nothing had to be modified or added. All in all, very easy to install on my 2021 Kona.

This product does what it is supposed to. The problem is, it goes on a hyandai Kona, which is a horrible design. Put the light adapter on before you put the receiver hitch on.
Easy install. Good instructions. Used it to install on a 2021 Hyunda Kona.
Easy plug and play. Watched a install video and fallowed the instructions, went together pretty easy. If you are putting the hitch on also do the wiring before the hitch it makes it easier to get to all the connections.
When I received my original order there was some pieces missing. I called etrailer and they said they would ship it right out. I received the parts in two days!!!! They were very fast in getting them out to me. Very good customer service!! Thank you so much for your super fast delivery!!
My local shop said they couldn't get a harness for my car. And no class 3 hitch. So I found both on etrailer, and ordered both. I can't say enough good things about etrailer. My only complaint is that one place on the install video, the location of the clip to unhook wasn't very clear. I spent an hour trying to unhook the wrong clip. Found the location on a different youtube video. But otherwise, everything was great.
Good service from staff, but slow shipping with no tracking to schedule installation on car in advance. Ordered hitch from [online} as no stock at etrailer until February.

Have used eTrailer for hitcrs on 3 different vehicles. Website is easy to use and hitches and wiring always fit. Install videos are very helpful and spot on.
Should of just said to take back under Gaurd out to hook up lights it was easy but sticking hand down hole not work

Overall, a great hitch that perform as needed for a 2022 Kona. Box arrived on-time, with some tears, but nothing missing. Installation was moderate effort; the fishwires were challenging, but once in place they worked. My Kona is FWD but I still had to drop the exhaust to get the right side of the hitch lined up. There was no model-specific wiring harness for the 22 Kona, so I used the generic CURT 56187 powered harness and positap connectors.
the connectors in my car are 8 pin (orange color) and the harness that i received from etrailer.com is a 3 pin (blue color) I have asked customer service about this problem but not much help yet. While researching on the web i found that my car connector is called G11E8 (8-Pin Connector) and obviously it doesnt fit the 3 pin connector from the wiring harness i received

Of course making the right connections is important. I reached out to Curt and found that the G11E8 8 pin connector is typically the blind spot monitoring connector. The tail light connector is hard to get to. I recommend viewing the video installation that we have on a 2020 Hyundai Kona and look at time stamp 10:15. It is possible that the connector would not be blue however it would match the wiring harness connector to connect together.
It works, but the instructions are somewhat lacking. Fortunately, i've been hacking stuff together since I was a kid, but some people might struggle with that. etrailer has a video that indicates you might be able to reach up from underneath to find the plugs, you need to plug into in the rear of the car, but I had to half rip off the bumper on each side in order to get to it directly on the back of the turn signal fixture. In their video they claim. You can do it if you don't have too big of arms. I'm not a bodybuilder. I have normal size adult male arms. There is no way in _blank_ could have reach those plugs and plug in the connectors to the light control module. I may be imagining things but the closest I could get was maybe to barely touch it with my fingertip well in fairly severe pain from jamming my arm up in there. I had to about half rip off the bumper on each side in order to be able to do it. An underhood connection solution might have been better. You have to fish the main power wire up to the battery anyway. On a positive note, it did actually work.

Never used it again, because the hitch transmits one hundred percent of the trailer noise directly to the inside of the drivers compartment
This curt electrical kit was so easy to install. Less than 30 minutes. Direct plugs into the car electrical made this beyond simple. A year later, Curt 4 prong electrical harness still working flawless. I love the simple unplug, plug harness in, and immediate trailer lights, brake lights. Dont miss the days of wiring trailer connectors. Install was less than 30 minutes. Cant beat that...

The wiring harness for my 2018 Kona is relatively easy to install. The video on the etrailer site explains of all of the components is professionally done. In the video she comments that the black and white photos on the instruction sheets are grainy and they definitely are . I suggest adding a link to a video actually going through an install. I found one on line and it clarified questions that I had about the taillight plugs . The video shows how to get easier access by removing several body pins to peel open the bumper corners instead of going up through the bottom .

Installation on the 2021 Kona EV electric was impossible if you do the hitch first. I had to pop the rear bumper (Find the u-hual installation video for guidance and trust the process) then the wiring was easy as could be.
Perfect fit
Harness fit perfectly on a 2021 Kona EV. While the vehicle connectors were hard to reach, the Curt harness allowed me to wire for a trailer without damaging the factory wiring. I powered the converter box using a switched 12V circuit so there would be 0 current draw to cause battery drain while parked, an issue with EVs.
I got this wiring harness to go with the trailer hitch I got from you folks. High marks all around. Excellent and easy ordering, both purchases great quality products, and fast and prompt delivery. And I was very impressed with the staff members who took the time to introduce themselves and write an e-mail. thanks

No problems in the first year. Instructions on this were good. It has connected our little tear on a few trips.
