Wiring for trailer lights doesn’t have to mean cutting into your vehicle’s factory wiring. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector uses plug-in connectors that install right behind the tail lights. Each end clicks into place between the factory plugs, so you get a clean, direct connection with no splicing required.
This harness connects behind the tail light housings, which keeps installation simple and tidy. You don’t have to run wires through the whole vehicle or chase down extra connections. The instructions were grossly inadequate to comfortably install the wire harness. Because I am experienced in automotive electrics I will figure it out. The harness appears well thought out and will avoid taps, but the instructions as to how to get behind the taillights to connect them in were a puzzle.

Installation when smooth an easy in our RAV4, a snap as they say. The hardest part was partially taking out the rear quarter panels to access the factory wiring. I would advise NOT sticking down the black distribution block with the two sided tape until you have finally placed and secured the wiring.

Easy to install. It all still works after a year of owning it.
Everyone was very helpful and the hitch arrived in a very timely manner. I found it very easy to install. I still have to tackle the wiring harness. So far I am very satisfied.
Only problem was that the yellow wire bridging the driver and passenger sides was a bit too tight. Splicing in an additional 8" took an extra five minutes and installation thereafter was simple.
The video describing installation was most helpful. I have limited experience pulling off body panels. Starting at the top as shown made it straightforward.
Includes the sticky pad and lots of cable ties.

In about 30 mins, the curt wiring harness took longer because I wanted to make sure I didn’t pinch any wires.. but was a pleasure to complete, no problems.. will be able to now pull a small yard trailer..
It was the easiest wiring any trailer that I have ever done. Didn't have to cut or splice any wires, just unplug tail light wires and plug in the wiring harness. It took me 10 minutes for complete installation.
Installed this weekend. Really simple. Plug and play. Very pleased with the quality. Will work just great for my trailer needs. Highly recommend Curt.

Yes, very satisfied a year later. Everything works great and no problems.
I really appreciate the effective way everything has been thought out for the customer. From the video to how the product is packaged. I ordered this wiring kit along with the tow bar. Both items arrived at the same time. The tow bar took me 14 minutes to install (no power or pneumatic tools). The wiring kit took me about 15 minutes as well. I truley appreciate finding this package at a good price. I will definately be recommending etrailer.
I received my trailer hitch and wiring harness as predicted by the shipping estimates for free shipping.
The installation of both hitch and wiring harness was very simple. Hitch installed in 20 minutes and harness 30 minutes. Had hooked up to my trailer and on the road with in ~hour.

This product Item: C55307 literally took me 18minutes and 48seconds to install on my 2002 Toyota RAV4. I opened the back door, set my trim removal tools, cordless drill and 12v DC circuit tester on the ground. I removed my phone from my back pocket and started the timer. I removed the trim as per the video. Installed the wiring kit as directed. Tested each circuit as suggested before reinstalling the trim. Reinstalled the trim and closed the back door 18m 48s. etrailer has my business for sure. Top notch outfit.

Let's put it this way , my 8 year old son new where to connect wires ! I choose to make to perminate through nock out is right above center of hitch, here's some pictures
I ordered your wiring kit for my RAV4 2004 to pull behind my class C. It has never worked. When I called back to ask about it the tech said. That you dont’t make a kit for that vehicle. And that they had sent me a kit to wire to pull????
If you do have a kit that works I would like to know.

The kit you purchased would work if you were pulling a trailer with your RAV4, but wont work for towing the RAV4 behind a motorhome. Although we dont offer a plug and play flat towing harness for the 2004 RAV4, Id recommend a diode kit like # RM-152-98146-7. Ill link to a video showing a typical installation.

Worked great with no issues at all. It was plug and play, super easy install. Ended up getting rid of the car it was attached to for unrelated reasons. The car company I sold it to kept the trailer connector installed since it worked fine.
