Video Transcript for Putco MOLLE Panel for Truck Bed Installation - 2021 Jeep Gladiator

Hey everybody. Welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby And today we're taking a look at the Putco Mollee side panels for truck beds here today on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Now these Mollee panels are going to get forwards. You guys, the flexibility and modularity to go ahead and actually move this around and get this set However you want to. So today we are using some of our quick fists here to hold onto our shovel.

Now, admittedly, it's not in the best place or up to me. I'd probably go ahead and flip this guy back around and get it in the proper order. Where I don't have the head up here right under my wheel base. But this is just to give you guys an idea of how you might set it up. You guys can see, we have a first aid system here and we'll show you guys the other side in just a little bit, but what's awesome about this, you guys can see, we have all these different holes to go ahead and really start putting on almost any accessory that we want to.

First off, we're going to get a great place to store some of our smaller tools. That way we have quick, consistent access right here on the bed of the truck. And that leaves the rest of the bed of our truck opened to our bigger, bulkier, heavier items. That way we're not so crowded, Pivoting to the driver's side, you guys can see, we have a host of different attachments on here. I really like how I can quickly access my canister here and anything else on the side.

And we also do have these nice little tie offs here that allow you to quickly attach almost anything on here. Now, a lot of these guys are going to be found in the "related parts" tab. We'll say at the time of shooting this video, we are a little limited on the amount of Mollee accessories that we have specifically. And some of them may require just a little bit of custom fabrication at home. Much like the quick fist that you guys saw on the other side, we actually did kind of have to maneuver a little bit of the backing plate.

So keep that in mind that a lot of this is going to be kind of up to you guys to really start making it work well for yourself. One thing I really like about this guy, too, you can see it's custom fit to go ahead and make sure we still have room for our tie offs. And one thing to that, I don't think I would really trust this guy to be a great tie off point for really heavy items. The reason why, we only have too much hold on here, we actually only have three screws holding this in as you guys are going to see later in the "install". So one thing I would be hesitant about is actually using this as a tie off for your heavier items. Now, the Putco Mollee panel is going to still pack some serious capability. We've got a 200 pound capacity. That's gonna allow you to get all of your big, heavy tools on here with no problem, of course. And you can kind of go ahead and split that between your two side panels, if you want, can be great. Now, like we said, they are sold separately. So keep that in mind when kind of reviewing of how much gear you can load up on here, it is going to have a nice powder coat finish on its aluminum construction. That means it's going to be nice and resistant to all the weather conditions we might have for the years to come. One thing I really love about it though. It's going to be really, really easy to install. So let's go ahead and see how we get both of these guys installed on the bed of our truck. All right, guys, to begin our installation, what we want to do, go ahead and take your Mollee panel here and just start getting it set here to actually become worked upon. So we have our little legs set. Now how these guys work there is going to be a little nut on here. You can back them off. If you're needing a little bit of height. Now for us here today, you guys might've noticed we have rubber bed mat in here. That's going to give us a little bit of an inch there. So to actually get away from the bed of our truck. So I'm going to keep it all the way down at the end of our leg. But like I said, if you need to make adjustments really easy to do just by walking that out and getting it set where you need it to be, then we're going to come to the base of our Mollee panel here and just take our legs set with our tabs and start installing them, do that by just running it, righty-tighty or clockwise into the base, you guys may have noticed we already have one of our attachments pre-installed. Now the reason we've done that it is going to be pretty easy to access most of the a you want to throw on here and just simply loop them through all these holes. However, sometimes like these guys have a little backing plate that we kind of fabricated on here and actually made to work. We we're going to have a hard time actually getting it to secure. So it can be beneficial for some of your accessories to set them on before you get the rest of your Mollee panel installed. But once that is all said and done, we can simply take our panel and slot it in. You're going to be looking for the screw sets, where she wants to set in place. So we have one here today on our Gladiator, one here in the back, and one more up towards the front. Now that you've located your screw holes though, go ahead and take your Mollee panel, and simply walk it into position. Try to avoid damaging your sidewall,of course, and once you're aligned, you're gonna need to go ahead and grab yourself a T-30 torx screw to go ahead and start getting this set in place. Like I said take your t-30 drive, and you're going to have three included washers and bolts. They're going to go ahead and allow you to actually mount this to your side rail here. So, once you actually have it properly aligned, let's do a few little more adjustments. You guys can see I'm having just a little bit with fitment issues. So once we actually nice align there to make sure that I am very straight, we're looking good there, we can start getting these installed. So here today, and like I said earlier, we do have a bed mat in here. So you guys can see that that's given us just a little bit of a fitment issue. Now it's actually quite nice for ourselves because we are getting set here without having to do too much adjustment to our feet. But the one thing I will say, we actually did have a depress, our Putco here to actually get it set in place. So if you're having trouble getting your Mollee's in the issue might be a little bit of just kind of messing with those feet. Just a little to go ahead and get yourself properly aligned. Once you've made those adjustments, though, you can go ahead and take your driver here and just start securing all of your screws. One thing that be nice too, is simply pushing down on the Mollee panel and setting each three of your screws in by hand just a little bit until we can come in and start securing them. Once you're nice and tightened them, go ahead and repeat the process for your other bolts. And if you do have yourself, your other Mollee panel for the other side of your vehicle as well. Well, overall, I'm really happy with that installed becomes really easy, actually slot it in one thing I was really concerned about was actually had a tonneau cover here today on our Gladiator. And I was really worried about having to actually mess with our clamping system. One thing I loved for ourselves today, it was really, really easy to slide it up underneath. Now that might be the one thing that you might run issues into. If you have a bit of, a bit more of a extensive tonneau cover, that's a little bit larger, maybe the clamp systems in the way, you may have to start kind of removing that to actually get this installed before, but it's really nice too how this stays nice and flush against my side rail here. Once they actually get it installed, it's not taking up too much room. And I didn't think we have too many too many issues with any other kind of tonneau covers out there once you actually get it installed. Overall, though, I really, really like how I have that ease of use all my items being right here on the side. We're not going to have any issues with anything falling in. One thing I will say, we'd probably go ahead and actually change where our shovel is here's it's sitting just a little close, but again, that's the beauty of it, right We can modify this to however we want and over our own desires at home. No matter what kind of accessories we're withdrawn here. Otherwise guys, I think that about does it. For our look at the Putco Mollee side panels here today on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. I'm Bobby, thank you for watching..
