Corrosion-resistant, U-bolt-style spare tire carrier is easy to install, mounts on frames up to 3" wide, features heavy-duty 1/2" diameter construction and fits most wheels with 4- or 5-lug rims. Includes locking bracket for added security. This lockable unbolt spare tire attachment is exactly what I needed to keep my spare tire handy for the boat trailer. Super easy to install and keep it locked onto the trailer.
There is nothing wrong with this product, it just want what we needed even though it was recommended with a travel trailer rack.
This device pulls the tire sidewall against whatever you are mounting it to, so it can be a pain to keep the tire from rattling around. We ended up using the original lug nuts instead of the locking brackets
I want to thank you for excellent service -- I could not ask for better.
Your web site was easy to use and to order from. I received a quick confirmation of the order, which even seemed personalized confirmation of shipping. And then it arrived 3-4 days earlier than I would have expected. And it was the right product, right size, right mount. And it was all done in about 15 minutes for me- saved me driving time, gas costs, and having to special order unstocked merchandise locally-- less expensive when all those factored in. I'm delighted.

E trailer is a very good Co, with a great ion of products...However this particular spare tire mount is crap. Treads were rough and not easy to spin nutbracket.. Threw it in the woods and spent a little extra on a different style.
This does what is supposed to do. It secures the spare tire tight to the frame and allows you to easily remove the tire if necessary. I had to do it once due to needing the spare and it was so easy to detach and then later reattach.
This spare tire carrier works great . Due to where I had to mount it I needed to space it out a bit. Two short peices of pipe and a couple of large washers would work but I have welding capability so I made a fancy one...
Functional. Affordable. Secure. Easy to install. Here is a picture of it installed on my snowmobile trailer. Highly recommended!
I use this to lock my spare under the back of my trailer. It works great and is easy to use.
Everything that Etrailer said would HAPPEN did. The trailer spare tire assembly worked very well on my trailstream boat trailer AND I CAN LOCK IT.

It enabled me to mount my spare trailer tire in the perfect location and secure with a pad lock.
This was a quick and easy solution!

This has been the perfect solution to mounting my spare tire to my utility trailer.
Great doing business with you not the first time I have used this company
As always great products and customer service. I am a returning customer because etrailer has each and every time exceeded my expectations. Yes buzz words but never disappointed my purchases.

perfect
The product works just as advertised. It took no longer than five minutes to install the spare tire to its new location on the trailer frame and is there to stay until it becomes necessary to utilize it--which hopefully is never.
The slot for the padlock is only about 1/4" so if you do not buy the lock that goes with the bracket plan on using a padlock with a bale of this size.
I found this barely usable, thank goodness I don't have to use it often. Either I am hard to please or the other reviewers are all using it on TOP of the trailer beam and they would not see my problem. If possible I will never mount a tire on top of the trailer beam as water collects in the tire, ultimately degrading its appearance and functionality.
Anyway...
The good
It's inexpensive, and the handy lockable bracket type nuts are easier to use than the typical locks I've had for spare trailer tires / wheels. You can match locks and keys with your other trailer locks.
If you have room for it under your boat and plan on using it with the tire sitting on top of the trailer beam it's relatively easy to use, but those L-O-N-G threaded rods are really excessively long especially if you are using smaller tires than a full sized auto tire.
The not so good.
If on the other hand you want to mount it on the SIDE of the trailer beam, it's extremely difficult to mount sideways on the trailer. Holding the tire, bracket and rotating the oddly shaped "nuts" is difficult in the best conditions, at night on a rainy, hot night or freezing interstate, I shudder to think how it will be to change a tire.
If the threaded rod were threaded all the way down the shaft, and a steel flat bar with two holes and two nuts securing it to the frame it would be a FAR better product.
Another thing I did was to make a flat bar with two holes so I could use a standard 1/2x20 tpi lug nut and secure it to the frame. Then you could cut the L-O-N-G threaded portion and use a standard cross lug wrench. Of course you lose the locking feature this way. If "I" were the maker, I'd offer this bar as an alternative installing method.
One last nit... I know these are one size fits all tires and trailers, but those L-O-N-G threaded rods are a pain to rotate the nut brackets ALL the way down. Add a little rust in the mix and you can see it can be an issue. I do not think they NEED to be that long.
This is a good product - functional and useful for deterring thieves from stealing your spare wheel/tire. I didn't give it 5 stars because the thread pitch is not the same as standard lug nuts so you will have to tighten it down with the locking brackets or get 1/2" nuts with correct pitch at the hardware store. I would have preferred to tighten it down with lug nuts and screw on the locking brackets over them, but that won't work. And they don't claim that will work in the description of the product. Still, this is a clever and economical alternative to having your spare tire/wheel stolen.
This spare tire mount works perfect for my trailer holding the tire in place and with the extra security feature there is no worries of someone stealing the tire because of the locking mechanism.
Just installed the trailer spare tire carrier. Easy to install, took just a few minutes. No tools needed. Well made, awesome product. Thank you once again etrailer.
Not good one of the nut brackets is no good

It sounds like you have a manufacturer flaw. I went ahead and sent this on to our customer service team to reach out and get you taken care of.
EZ to attach to the trailer
Great service!
Basic design is good. However, the tapped/threaded bent straps are too thin and stripped out on the first installation. I will have to get nuts tack welded to the strap ends to extend the threaded surface part which will then provide a proper hold.
Haven't used it yet
This bracket works well for normal tires, but not so good for the wider tires on my snowmobile trailer. I wasn’t able to use the locking brackets, and ended up replacing them with 1/2 fine thread nuts.
Nice product, but it doesn’t fit a 5 on 5 wheel. I guess it was my error when ordering.
Hi just got my product spare tire carrier Fulton today already on boat frame installed in minutes just lined up my new tire and rim put thru hole screwed lock holders down checked tire and rim for secure fit put lock on locked up all done easy as that
