Features to know about

Stop the Rear-End Sag: 11,000-lb Load-Leveling Support

When you’re towing a trailer or loading up heavy gear, the rear of your vehicle can sag and throw off steering and braking. The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 11,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity so your ride stays level and controlled. The hollow rubber springs sit above the rear axle and compress progressively as weight is added, keeping the truck steady without relying on air lines or compressors.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Hollow Rubber Springs That Absorb Shock

Rough pavement or washboard roads can beat up your suspension and leave your ride feeling harsh. The Aeon hollow rubber springs in this system act like built-in shock absorbers, taking the brunt of bumps and jolts before they reach the cab. They cushion light loads while allowing full leaf spring movement, then stiffen under heavier loads for dependable stability. The result is a smoother, more comfortable drive loaded or empty.

Handle Curves and Crosswinds With Confidence: Independent Spring Action

When corners or crosswinds push from one side, each Timbren spring works on its own to keep that side of the vehicle planted. This helps reduce body roll and sway for better control through turns, uneven driveways, or when a trailer starts to move around behind you. Because less turbulence transfers from vehicle to trailer, sway fades faster and driving feels steadier overall.

Easy, No-Drill Install: Custom Brackets and Hardware Included

You don’t need special tools or air systems to get real suspension support. The Timbren kit bolts directly onto the frame rails using custom-fit brackets and included hardware—no drilling required. Once in place, it automatically provides support when needed with no adjustments to make or air pressure to maintain. It’s a simple way to add stability and extend the life of your suspension without adding maintenance.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
I have a 2018 GMC 1500 Denali and it has the MagnaRide suspension which is very soft. Honestly, 300lbs makes it squat and towing my empty car trailer made it bounce off of the original bump stops. I added the Timbren kit and while towing, it has made all of the difference I was looking for. The truck only squats about 1-2", drives straight and level, and performs as good as a 1500 series truck can. However, be prepared to give up quite a bit of unloaded ride quality. This kit only leaves @1" of space between the bump stop and the spring pad so now when the truck is not loaded it bounces off of the bump stops because the Timbren kit is so stiff. I do a lot of highway driving and the truck works for most of my needs but I feel like I need to remove this kit and reinstall if I'm going to be towing heavy. While loaded, this is a 5 star product and does everything it needs to. When unloaded, I'd give it a 2 during day to day driving. The real shortcoming is with GM for building it to soft for a truck and Timbren is trying to correct their mistake.

2018 GMC Sierra 1500
This device should come as standard OEM on all pickup trucks!
The difference in towing is amazing. I have a 1500 GMC with the towing package. I just got a toy hauler trailer with a heavy tongue weight of around 1,000 pounds. Even with weight distribution bars, the squat in the rear was significant.
The headlights were aiming for the stars, I was getting lights flashed at me, and the rear was on the bump stops just sitting parked. The steering was scary light, and the purposing and getting pushed around by the trailer was terrible.
I drove the truck for around 1,500 miles and then installed the bump stops right away once they arrived.
I immediately noticed the squat was gone, the truck stance was level looking at it, the headlights are now illuminating the roadway, no flashing at me, and the porpusing and getting shoved around by the trailer is gone! The cross winds are much easier to handle, and the ride is nice. I highly recommend these. I thought I needed a 2500 series truck. These are night and day in comparison from stock. Thanks Amy and crew!

Installed the Timbren TFR250SDJ on my 2025 F-250 Platinum Plus 4WD Short Bed with 6.7 HO Powerstroke. Fit perfectly. It takes a few minutes to get the bags attached to the base. It seems like the bolt is too long but I used a vise to hold the unit while I tightened it down more and cinched the bag to the base. So if it seems it wont get tight enough and is still loose, find a way to secure the base... there's still a few more turns.

Attaching to the truck takes a few minutes to remove the OEM (2 nuts) and a few minutes to install the Timbren SES. I added about 45 minutes by dropping one of the nuts, which I finally found inside the shock absorber bracket!!

I used a hand socket but would recommend air or power tools, if you can get to the nuts, but it can be done manually. Probably took me a few extra minutes with a socket wrench because of limited space, and I'm old!

I have not tested the SES under load yet, but I was really more concerned with the ride unloaded.I ended up with a gap right at 1" between the peg and bottom of the SES. Some reviews said the unloaded ride worsened. So I drove to the nearest small town with horrible streets, bumps, holes, broken concrete, sewer covers 3" below the asphalt, etc. On the highway, the ride was perfect, completely unaffected. On my bad road obstacle course, I thought the ride improved significantly. So I think the system will give a better ride unloaded. It was a little stiffer, less roll, and smoother. It was not "bouncy" or jarring, like some reviews mention. Very smooth and felt beefier on bad roads.

I'll update after I've driven loaded. I tow a 12,000# 2025 Rockwood TT 36' with a ProPride 3P hitch. We put 7,000 miles on it across 15 states this past year, so I've definitely got a "before" baseline using the OEM bumpers.

The ordering process was great. Naomi D had great product knowledge. At first I thought I was talking to my granddaughter, but after putting her through the paces, It felt like I was getting sage advice from my Grandfather. e-Trailer seems to really invest in their customer service reps knowledge base. Also completely satisfied with the order process and delivery. They were able to mail to our PO Box, which seems to be a problem for most (our physical address is a gate on the side of a highway, with cows on the other side).

100% satisfied so far and would recommend both e-trailer and Timbren to a friend. Will update once I've done some towing, but can say the unloaded ride is unaffected or improved for my application. So far, very happy.

Thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed review and all of the pictures! The unloaded ride is a concern we hear fairly often with SES upgrades, so your experience with the 1" gap and rough-road testing will be really helpful to others considering these for their F-250. We appreciate the kind words about Naomi and our team as well. Looking forward to your update once you get some miles on them with the Rockwood!

I'm suitably impressed with the difference i feel.
I have about 250 lbs. of static load with my topper and Decked cargo system. This put my install gap with no spacers just under the reccomended 1 inch minimum. Then add a couple hundred more pounds hauling music gear 100 shows a year, and the stop is resting on the axle.
I feel the absorption of the Timbren material is better than the flimsy stock bump stops. More cushion.
Where i really feel the difference is in the stabilty of excessive side sway when turning while loaded.
I have a gig coming up that will involve some unpaved mountain roads to get there so I think i will have a real goid idea of how these Timbren's will perform.
Instalation took me about an hour at 11 p.m.
The product it of the highest quality in design and build.
And Etrailer is a company that I would not hesitate to buy from in the future.
Thanks Dee Dee.

Love hearing this! Really appreciate the detailed feedback and photos. That extra stability when you're loaded up can make a huge difference. And installing them at 11 at night—that's commitment. Hope they treat you just as well on those mountain roads. Safe travels and we'll definitely make sure Dee Dee gets the shoutout.

Just got these on and haven’t been able to do a lot of testing yet, but it looks like they command their price. Huge difference in sag in the rear end of our Honda Pilot. As others have appeared to do in this review section before me, I started using a WDH with these and that looks to really be the winning combination with the Timbren SES. Our travel trailer is 3,500 lbs and it was squatting the pilot pretty well before. This timbren SES is a great addition. Can’t go wrong.

Absolutely Pleased with the TIMBRENS. They were easy to install, and took less than an hour to install both. I noticed a slight stiffness in the ride as the rear bounced over a bad roadway. Towing is great, with a nice level and smooth ride. I am glad that I did not order the heavier duty Timbrens, than what was recomended for my truck. I believe the ride would have been too stiff. If you look at the photos showing the timbrens, the truck is still lifted in the rear, so what you see is a big gap between the rubber, and the steal plate. When the truck is lowered, there's 1" of space as it should be. BTW, I have been purchasing from etrailer for years now, and I have to say that I have never had any issues with any orders. They are my go to folks for all of my vehicle suppension stuff and trailer stuff. You can't go wrong with buying from them.

The TIMBRENs work as stated during when I am pulling anything heavy. However, when the truck is not pulling anything, anyone riding in the rear seat gets a very hard jarring jolt when driving over any roadway repairs, bumps, expansion joints on bridges. I wished that I would have went with the Super Springs, or the Road Active Suspension. I may replace the TIMBRENS later.

@Don I'm sorry to hear that the Timbrens didn’t pan out to be as great as you originally hoped. Swapping over to the SuperSprings or the RoadActive Suspension will definitely have less of an impact on your day-to-day driving. Out of the two, the RoadActive Suspension would have the least effect. If you ever have questions about the RoadActive Suspension or the SuperSprings, let me know and I’d be happy to help out.

It has been almost a year since I installed Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems (DVF350 and DVR350R) on the front and rear of my 2003 Dodge RAM Van 3500. These bumpers replaced the OEM bump stops that were on my van. I like the Timbren bumpers much better than the OEM bump stops because they provide a progressively cushioned response for suspension compression when traveling over significant humps like speed bumps in a parking lot, or curb ramps into driveways. I did not like the abrupt stop the OEM bump stops provided when traveling over the same objects. I installed the Timbren rear bumpers first, and after a few months of use, I decided to add them to the front. In both cases, the front and rear Timbren bumpers were easy to install once the OEM bump stops were removed. Installation required reuse of the factory hardware. On my van, the Timbren bumpers are not always engaged. Under normal load and travel conditions the bumpers are relaxed and about 1/2” away from the suspension landing points. However, their presence is much appreciated and very noticeable when the van is carrying heavy loads or handling significant humps.

Glad to hear the Timbren systems worked out so well for your RAM Van Mitchell! It’s great that you noticed the smoother, more progressive response compared to the factory bump stops, especially under load. Thanks for sharing your experience with both the front and rear installs, that’s really helpful for others considering the upgrade. What kind of loads are you usually hauling with your van?

by:
The timbres bump stop is exactly the right height to meet the axel when the trailer is connected with all its weight onto the hitch. I have an Andersen weight distribution hitch and it levels out perfectly. The day picture is with the coach (Winn 2100bh) with factory equipment. The night picture is after the timbres are in place. Looks good.

Stiffens and corrects kneel in rear end of 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. You will notice a stiffening of the rear end suspension while unloaded, but it’s a fair trade off to prevent sagging and porpoising while towing. I found it easier to pull the rear wheels and work from the side than underneath the vehicle while installing.

The Timbren overload spring/bumper was east to install and did what it was supposed to do when I hitched up a camp trailer. These did not negatively affect the ride by any means and I don't have to worry about the troubles with air bags.
by:
A very simple and straightforward installation once you get the oem bumper stops off (had a shop do that)
Timbren worked with me as I had a non OEM frame height (vehicle was lower than stock) to recommend the proper kit. Highly recommend contacting timbren if you are unsure of the proper kit to use. Ride is more stable. It does feel stiffer and less bouncy but am looking forward to seeing how it performs with my truck camper. Truck is a 1998 dodge ram 2500. Brake line over left side of axle needed to be secured to prevent damage.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out, that’s actually a common issue with this type of trim. The one you tried is a standard flat insert, but some RVs (like your NOBO) use a slightly domed trim to help it sit over the screw heads in the track. If the screws stick up even a little, a flat trim won’t fully snap in place, which sounds like what you’re running into. The best way to find the right replacement is to remove a small piece of your original trim, lay it flat, and measure the full width from edge to edge. Most are either 3/4" or 1", but the shape matters too, not just the width. If yours has that domed profile, you’ll want something similar or a softer vinyl that can flex over the screws. If you’re able to send a quick photo of your track or old trim, I’d be happy to help you find a better match.

Well they are exactly what I thought it would be. Hard for me to say it's what I needed yet.
I installed them on a homemade trailer from a salvaged 2001 base model tacoma. Once I get finished building it out and have some weight in it I'll have a better idea. But from what I've seen so far on a couple test drives they should come into effect when needed.
For reference I building an Tacoma based trailer with an ARE Contractor topper with a Naturnest roof top tent on the very top. So to counter and sway these should be very helpful. At least I hope so. I'm not an engineer but I did stay at an Holliday Inn once.

The Timbren SES is a simple solution for rear squat when towing. When hitched to my 30' Airstream Globetrotter (8800 GVWR) with a tongue weight around 1200 lbs, my Silverado 2500HD had a bit more squat than is ideal. I shopped airbags but didn't want to spend ~$2K for the set up and didn't want the hassle of installation and forever chasing air leaks. The Timbren SES literally installs on the Silverado in about 15 minutes. So simple. No bags, no compressor, no wiring, no air lines, no leaks. And WAY less expensive to boot. Just returned form a 600+ mile trip and it towed flawlessly.

2,000 miles in on a trip from the east coast to the Canadian Rockies these work great while loaded and towing. Close to zero bounce while towing, I love them. Unloaded, however, the ride in my 2026 Tundra has gone south. There is a noticeable, abrupt stop of the units hitting the axle when going over any kind of bump. When I get home and back to regular driving, I may just take them off, its that bad.

Glad they are working well for you, Kevin! Well, while you are towing, that is. We have heard that these can be pretty rough when unloaded, but work great when you are loaded. A quick release function on these would make taking them off when not towing a lot easier. I may pitch that to Timbren to see if they can work something out. I will tell them to call it something like the Kevin Device if they agree! ^___^ Sounds like quite the trip! What has been your favorite stop so far?

by:
I've had these on our tow rig for a year now and I added buy them again today if I needed them.these have worked much better than airbags for our coil spring rear suspension to handle the tongue weight of our trailer. The SUV sits level when the trailer is on and it handles bumps and sway better than the airbags did providing much more comfort to us in the vehicle. Unloaded, we don't really notice they are there, unless, we have all the kids and some friends loaded up and you will fell them work when going over bumps.i do all my maintenance on the vehicle's and inspect these regularly and I cant see any wear so far even though we've gone on 6 trips with our trailer with about 5000 miles doing so.
I cant say these are the best for every truck or SUV, but for ours it is the best and I definitely would recommend to others.

Great product. The ride and body roll at the rear axle are notceably improved (1989 Ford E350 Class C RV , 27 ft). I give it 4 stars because the installation was slightly complicated due to the rear brake lines needing to be slightly bent to provide clearance for the U bolts supplied in the kit. Great product and wish it came in a 5000 lb version.

Thanks for sharing your experience Thomas. It is great to hear the Timbrens made a noticeable difference in ride quality and reduced body roll on your E350 Class C. We also appreciate the heads-up on the install. That kind of real-world feedback about brake line clearance is very helpful for others working on a similar setup. Would be nice if they had a stronger option, if you need the 5K, might need to go to airbags, but who wants to deal with having to air up if you don't need to. Where are you off to on the next adventure?

These will do a great job of providing support for towing or hauling. They will not void any warranties.

  • Are There Towing Air Bags for a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali
The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali comes equipped with Adaptive Ride Control. The Adaptive Ride Control will not allow for the use of air bags/springs so if you need suspension enhancements you'll have to look into alternatives such as the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK15MR which is what I recommend. It features an easy bolt-on install and does a great job of providing extra support.

  • Suspension Enhancement for 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited Denali with Adaptive Ride Control
I reached out to Air Lift who said that the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL88204 will not work with a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited Denali with the Adaptive Ride Control. Though this system did replace the MagneRide, it still impedes the use of most suspension enhancements, including the Air Lift. There is an option for your vehicle, the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRCK15MR which are jounce springs that are designed to be used with your Denali's system. These...

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 with MagneRide Suspension
Timbren makes a rear suspension enhancement kit that was specifically designed for the versions of the 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 models that have the MagneRide suspension with the part # TGMRCK15MR. RoadActive Suspension also offers the # RAS2611 for the MagneRide as well. The Timbrens work great providing additional support like you are wanting but they tent to be a bit harsher when the vehicle is unloaded so the RAS kit is what I'd recommend. It gives you same support but with less harshness...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 with 5th Wheel Hitch
An "in-bed" hitch refers to a gooseneck or fifth wheel trailer hitch setup like you have in your 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. Since none of the air bag kits we offer for your truck are compatible with in-bed hitches your best option is going to be a jounce spring style of suspension kit like the # TGMRCK15S which fits if you do NOT have the Magneride suspension or the part # TGMRCK15MR for if you DO have the Magneride suspension. Some people will attempt to modify the brackets of air bag kits...

The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System (SES) # TGMRCK15MR fits a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 if it has the MagneRide suspension. From what I could tell it looks like the MagneRide suspension typically only comes on the Denali for this year so since you have an SLT you need the Timbren SES # TGMRCK15S instead. I have attached an installation video of this kit on a 2016 GMC Sierra 1500 that you can check out. I'm glad our tech tip section was able to help you out in determining fit. There are...

  • Timbrens For 2017 GMC Sierra
That's a really good question. I got a hold of my contact at Timbren, unfortunately they told me that each kit is designed to work specifically for that truck. So if your Sierra does not have magneride, you will want to use # TGMRCK15S, and if you do have magneride use part # TGMRCK15MR. Each kit is compatible with both 2WD and 4WD. While the spring may bolt up and thread on, each kit has different shaped springs, heights, and designed to work with the truck's factory suspension. So it...
