Features to know about

Stay Level and in Control: 750-lb Rear Suspension Support

When towing or hauling a heavy load, sag at the rear can throw off your steering and braking. These SumoSprings helper springs add up to 750 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to keep your ride level and steady. They help your factory suspension handle extra weight, keeping better contact between your tires and the road for safe headlight aim and confident control.

Smooth Out the Ride: Progressive Load Control

Every load feels different, but these springs automatically adjust. The microcellular urethane compresses easily on lighter loads for soft engagement and a smoother ride, then firms up under heavy weight—compressing by as much as 80 percent—to add more support when you need it. The result is a comfortable, stable ride whether you’re carrying gear or driving unloaded.

Reduce Bounce and Body Roll: Independent Spring Action

Each spring works on its own side of the vehicle to balance off-center loads and cut down on body roll in sharp turns. That means less sway when cornering or driving through crosswinds, and more even handling across uneven terrain. The springs also help minimize bottoming out by cushioning bumps before they reach the chassis.

Count on Lasting Strength: Durable Microcellular Urethane

These helper springs are built to handle real use in all conditions. The microcellular urethane resists oils, road salts, and UV rays, and it performs in temperatures from -25°F to 200°F. Minimal lateral expansion keeps them safe in tight spaces, and with no air lines or pressure to monitor, they stay maintenance-free season after season.

Install Without Hassle: Simple No-Drill Setup

Adding rear suspension support doesn’t have to be complicated. This kit replaces your factory bump stops with two jounce-style springs using a straightforward, no-drill design. You get reliable load support without extra hardware or adjustments—just solid performance every time you hit the road.

2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
I put these on a 2013 Jeep JK (not lifted) that tows a 3000 lb trailer in rough terrain; Total game changer.

These replaced the anemic factory stops (which had completely disintegrated) and make it impossible to 'bottom out' on the dips and holes that use to beat up the suspension. I got nearly all of my vertical travel back and the vehicle now sits almost level under high tongue load.

They go on pretty easy. I suggest sliding in one side, and then using a wooden dowel and hammer to pop the other side in the stock receiver cup.

Highly recommended. These are a MUST if you are towing a trailer (with a medium sized SUV) of any significant weight or if you just want to be able to bounce hard without bottoming out your suspension. I am likely going to get the front suspension version now as well.
Wish I knew these existed sooner.

Easy to put on, so far so good!

We outfitted our 2 door jk jeep with all the things needed for multi week over landing trips. One problem that’s a lot of weight. These helped with the drivability and stability even on the roads in Baja! The jeep has a 2.5” aev lift and 33” tires. We also left on the 2” spacers on the axle for more preload when weighted down.

I just installed these today. SUPER easy. Didn't even take me 15 minutes. I haven't taken the Jeep out for a test drive yet, but I expect the SumoSprings to perform as expected.

Use these as high speed bump stops and much cheaper than air bumps. Work great!

This is exactly what I needed! Easy to install and works as it should. Don’t even know it’s there until I pull my RPod.
Nothing to wear out or break! I would definitely order these again!

This only pertains to the order, shipping speed, and install as I have not put a heavy load on these sumo Springs yet but I feel like that's a foregone conclusion based off the reviews already. The ordering process, the shipping, and the installation was unbelievably easy. I kept rereading the instructions thinking this can't be right because it was so simple. I looked at the YouTube video and realized it is that simple! So happy with the ordering process, the quality of the initial product I opened, and how simple it was to put on the jeep.

That is the beauty of SumoSprings! Super easy to install and once they're on you can forget they're there! Are you planning on towing something with your Jeep that you want extra support for?

@ClaireH yes Ms Claire. I plan to put a truck camper on the Jeep (that weighs in the 500-1000 lbs range). My payload is 1700 lbs so I know a camper of the weight will be significant my truck. Already ordered a stiffer rear anti-sway bar as well.

@Justin That sounds like a good plan! These SumoSprings plus the sway bar should be more than enough to handle the weight of your truck bed camper.

2025 Promaster 2500 159” wheelbase. Backed the van on couple 2” X 6 “ easier sliding under. Sprayed PB Blaster on top of bumper spring, using a 16” Channel Lock, easy off with the old. At that time I jacked the rear end to allow clearance. One side at a time. Took longer for set up then the job. I used the long bolt with two spacers. Have not drove yet, though looking for great results.

Glad to hear the install wasn't too bad, Michael! Definitely let us know how the ride is once you take it out for a drive! What are you using your Van for? The tires look pretty beefy.

Love them! The truck barely even squatted, had two dirt bikes, and a generator in the bed as well! It handles the bumps and sway great

Product is great, exceeded my expectations. Install is simple and straightforward. It’s a night and day difference in both the body roll and the handling small bumps all the way up to off-road conditions.

2000 Nissan Leaf
Great product! Bought these for my 2000 7.3 f250. Didn't want something that is constantly active like ras or hellwig since my leaf springs are new and rated for 4k pounds. Installed these in 1 hr super simple only hard part was the factory bump stop on driver side was a pain. Didn't install the puck they give due to height of truck and I knew more or less at what point I wanted them engaging. I haul cattle to shows/ auctions or between pastures with my 24ft big bend and these things actually provided a smoother ride in my truck loaded then unloaded.they do a great job with the added support and are better than an overload spring with handling sway and providing a smooth ride loaded. Just wish I could use the 3k pound rated ones on this truck and my dually but doesn't fit if you have a gooseneck sadly so will probably have to go with timbs on the drw. Over all great product can't speak to longevity but solid for the time being. And customer service with this company is excellent if you have a question or problem they're on top of it...hope they pay them as well as the reputation they're building for them.

Thanks for the awesome feedback, Jeff! Love hearing that the install was a breeze and that you noticed such a big difference in handling, that’s exactly what you want after the upgrade. Really appreciate you sharing the photos too, it’s always fun to see the comparison.

I put a set of 47s on my Silverado 1500 and towed my dump trailer that weighed 6000 pounds the way I had it loaded for 50 miles on all kinds of roads and it worked well. I didn’t use the spacers and the truck still rides like it did before the install.

Glad the Sumos are helping make your loads easier to tow!

Jeep Gladiator Mojave - swapped out the rear stock bump stops with these. High quality parts. Just jack up the truck enough to give you room to work with and put in your jack stands, no need to remove the wheels. I look forward to seeing how they do with towing! Hopefully I can update my review here afterwards. Check out the gap difference in the pictures. Should touch sooner during normal drive conditions and hopefully help reduce some trailer squat and help towing to be smoother.

  • Suspension Enhancement for Front and Rear Suspension of 2016 Jeep Wrangler
We have front suspension enhancement that does fit your 2016 Jeep Wrangler and is intended for off-road applications like I can see in your picture, but we don't have any air bag style kits. Instead we have jounce bumper style kits like the SuperSprings kit part # SSF-402-54 which will fit and work well. The tall microcellular urethane springs absorb big bumps and shocks and engage sooner than standard springs. For a matching set for the rear axle we have the part # SSR-405-47 as well.

The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-405-47 are a great choice for your 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited if it has a 2 inch lift. I spoke with my contact at SuperSprings and he confirmed that this spring in this system measures 4-1/2 inches. If your Wrangler Unlimited has a stock suspension height, you will want to use the SumoSpring Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-401-47. These springs are slightly shorter than the springs referenced above, measuring approximately 3-3/4 inches....
