Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 1,500-lb Rear Suspension Support

When a heavy trailer or cargo pushes your rear suspension down, steering and braking can start to feel light. These SumoSprings Solo helper springs add up to 1,500 lbs of support at 50-percent compression to help level your ride. They take the stress off your factory suspension, keeping your vehicle balanced and improving control when towing or hauling.

Side-by-side comparison of SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs installed on a vehicle rear axle showing uncompressed and compressed positions to demonstrate load support and suspension performance.

Smooth Out the Rough Stuff: Progressive Load Control

Every bump or dip in the road doesn’t have to jar you around. The microcellular urethane springs compress progressively—soft at first for lighter loads and firming up as weight increases. That means a smooth, cushioned ride unloaded and solid stability when you’re carrying serious weight. The closed-cell material also dampens vibration so the ride feels more controlled on rough pavement or washboard roads.

Stay Steady in Crosswinds and Turns: Independent Spring Action

When curves or crosswinds try to push you around, each spring works on its own to keep that side planted. This independent action reduces body roll and helps balance uneven or off-center loads so your vehicle feels stable through turns, lane changes, and angled driveways.

Built Tough for Real-World Conditions: Durable Urethane Construction

These springs are made from microcellular urethane that resists abrasion, oils, road salts, and UV damage. They handle temperatures from -25°F to 200°F without losing strength. Because they compress vertically with minimal side expansion, they fit cleanly into tight spaces without rubbing on nearby parts.

Set It and Forget It: Maintenance-Free Design with No-Drill Install

There’s nothing to air up or check over time—no tubing or pressure to monitor. Once installed, the system just works every time you load up. The no-drill design mounts easily with basic tools, making it a straightforward upgrade that adds lasting support without extra upkeep.

2017 Ford Transit Connect
Easy install. I purchased these for my 2017 Ford Transit 350HD DRW to help with body roll in windy conditions and with the van rocking back and forth when pulling into and out of parking lots. In windy conditions my high roof van felt like it was all over the road. The problem is not eliminated after the install of the Sumo springs, but is greatly improved. My expectations were met, and I am happy with the purchase.
by:
2016 Ford Transit Connect
I installed these on a 2016 Coachmen Orion RV, built on a Ford Transit 350HD chassis. Definite improvement in overall ride, and in resisting being pushed around by gusts of wind or big trucks. The installation required a little more lifting of the frame than I had expected, but overall a relatively easy job. Everything fit like it should.
by:
Noticeable help with sway on turn and wind, and glad I purchased. Would give 5 stars but still experiencing more sway in high winds than comfortable, so considering upgrading springs and shocks.
by:
Ford Transit Connect
We use it to keep our ford transit wheel chair lift van from bottoming out on large bumps and control body roll. They work great!!! Highly reccomend. Easy install and a truly noticeable difference.

2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
I put these on a 2013 Jeep JK (not lifted) that tows a 3000 lb trailer in rough terrain; Total game changer.

These replaced the anemic factory stops (which had completely disintegrated) and make it impossible to 'bottom out' on the dips and holes that use to beat up the suspension. I got nearly all of my vertical travel back and the vehicle now sits almost level under high tongue load.

They go on pretty easy. I suggest sliding in one side, and then using a wooden dowel and hammer to pop the other side in the stock receiver cup.

Highly recommended. These are a MUST if you are towing a trailer (with a medium sized SUV) of any significant weight or if you just want to be able to bounce hard without bottoming out your suspension. I am likely going to get the front suspension version now as well.
Wish I knew these existed sooner.

2025 Promaster 2500 159” wheelbase. Backed the van on couple 2” X 6 “ easier sliding under. Sprayed PB Blaster on top of bumper spring, using a 16” Channel Lock, easy off with the old. At that time I jacked the rear end to allow clearance. One side at a time. Took longer for set up then the job. I used the long bolt with two spacers. Have not drove yet, though looking for great results.

Glad to hear the install wasn't too bad, Michael! Definitely let us know how the ride is once you take it out for a drive! What are you using your Van for? The tires look pretty beefy.

This only pertains to the order, shipping speed, and install as I have not put a heavy load on these sumo Springs yet but I feel like that's a foregone conclusion based off the reviews already. The ordering process, the shipping, and the installation was unbelievably easy. I kept rereading the instructions thinking this can't be right because it was so simple. I looked at the YouTube video and realized it is that simple! So happy with the ordering process, the quality of the initial product I opened, and how simple it was to put on the jeep.

That is the beauty of SumoSprings! Super easy to install and once they're on you can forget they're there! Are you planning on towing something with your Jeep that you want extra support for?

@ClaireH yes Ms Claire. I plan to put a truck camper on the Jeep (that weighs in the 500-1000 lbs range). My payload is 1700 lbs so I know a camper of the weight will be significant my truck. Already ordered a stiffer rear anti-sway bar as well.

@Justin That sounds like a good plan! These SumoSprings plus the sway bar should be more than enough to handle the weight of your truck bed camper.

Love them! The truck barely even squatted, had two dirt bikes, and a generator in the bed as well! It handles the bumps and sway great

Product is great, exceeded my expectations. Install is simple and straightforward. It’s a night and day difference in both the body roll and the handling small bumps all the way up to off-road conditions.

2016 Toyota Tundra
It arrived pretty promptly about 30 minutes later I had him installed. It took me longer to find the proper Tools. Never had to remove the tires or wheels the only time I had to jack it up was to put the helper springs and screw them down very easily install

2000 Nissan Leaf
Great product! Bought these for my 2000 7.3 f250. Didn't want something that is constantly active like ras or hellwig since my leaf springs are new and rated for 4k pounds. Installed these in 1 hr super simple only hard part was the factory bump stop on driver side was a pain. Didn't install the puck they give due to height of truck and I knew more or less at what point I wanted them engaging. I haul cattle to shows/ auctions or between pastures with my 24ft big bend and these things actually provided a smoother ride in my truck loaded then unloaded.they do a great job with the added support and are better than an overload spring with handling sway and providing a smooth ride loaded. Just wish I could use the 3k pound rated ones on this truck and my dually but doesn't fit if you have a gooseneck sadly so will probably have to go with timbs on the drw. Over all great product can't speak to longevity but solid for the time being. And customer service with this company is excellent if you have a question or problem they're on top of it...hope they pay them as well as the reputation they're building for them.

I put a set of 47s on my Silverado 1500 and towed my dump trailer that weighed 6000 pounds the way I had it loaded for 50 miles on all kinds of roads and it worked well. I didn’t use the spacers and the truck still rides like it did before the install.

Glad the Sumos are helping make your loads easier to tow!

by:
Jeep Gladiator Mojave - swapped out the rear stock bump stops with these. High quality parts. Just jack up the truck enough to give you room to work with and put in your jack stands, no need to remove the wheels. I look forward to seeing how they do with towing! Hopefully I can update my review here afterwards. Check out the gap difference in the pictures. Should touch sooner during normal drive conditions and hopefully help reduce some trailer squat and help towing to be smoother.
by:
Opted for the Blue 1000lb Sumo's w/spacer over the 1500lb Black ones. 1500 Silverado Max Tow & reduces squatting by 2" on a 1000lb+ tongue weight. Ride is still good, but you can feel the Sumo's engage over large dips or bumps which is not an issue for me.

I got the springs installed last week and wanted to have a drive time before I wrote the review.

The height of the springs are perfect for my 2016 Tacoma, They keep the truck stable and nearly eliminate the body roll I had before installing them. I am heading to the mountains in a couple weeks, so I will update the review when I get back. That way I will know for sure the body roll is gone and the truck is stable on the winding mountain roads.

The springs installed in no time at all and since I had the rear end apart, I decided to add the leveling blocks at the same time, to keep the truck from squatting with the gear I haul around with me.

The guys at etrailer are great. And while I did not call them to discuss this item, they have been very helpful in the past with all my questions.

Below are pictures of before, a couple comparisons and after. Sorry if they come out sideways.

These Sumo Springs were a great addition to my Tacoma and well worth the money, IMHO.

The springs are working exactly as expect. I have need up to the mountains numerous times and to Monerary to the Sea Otter bike fest. They have reduced the body roll and helped keep the truck stable on the mountain roads or when loaded down for camping. Im very pleased I added these Sumo Springs to my Tacoma.

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
Have Nissan NV 1500 (transit van).Loads and trailers were the problem-along with the constant "slouch" look-with no really heavy load on it. Hated that!
These used with "add-on leaf springs" made a world of difference.
Bumps being felt, are there, but nothing like before. These two things along with new shocks (all for back),has helped out so much!
So, the bumps have almost faded to "nothingness". Now granted, I have not hit a massive pothole, yet. I try to dodge those anyhow!
Components work great together!
by:
Got them installed no issues the reason for 4 stars is one side touches top of axle the other side does not no one could tell me if this was right or wrong also haven't pulled 5th wheel yet to feel the ride or handling so we will see thanks

2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Definitely helps with squat on '24 F250 from boat trailer tongue weight. These do come with a plate to avoid uneven contact or wear.
I mounted using all spacers , stock is same unless speed bumps or large dips, u feel the stiffness/contact of sumo as expected. May take one spacer out .
Super easy to install , better than leaking bags.
Time will tell how they last

Glad to hear they are helping, Cory! If you are feeling them going over speed bumps, I think taking one of the spacers out is a good idea. Especially if that is happening when you are unloaded. Speaking of which, what are you towing?

2021 Nissan Titan
I had installed this model SumoSpring on my 2019 4Runner and had great results when towing the camper I had at the time. They greatly reduce the bounce when going over dips in the road at highway speeds. Now I have a 2021 Titan and a bigger heavier camper. I expect the same great results on the Titan. Installation was pretty straight forward and took about a half hour. The size difference between the OEM bump stops and the SumoSprings alone should give a better ride when towing my camper.

I bought a 2027 RAM 1500 to tow my 20' 5000lb Forest River. Easy to install. I did it in my driveway in 1.5hrs. Some of the bolts were dificult to access due to mufflers etc but a short wrench worked well. When I first hooked up my trailer I had 4" of rear bed setelment. With springs installed I had less than 2". Front lift is about 1/2". Did not compromise driving comfort and appeared to dampen trailer "flex" on RxR tracks etc. My right handled very well on a trip from S Florida to N Georgia on Interstates and secondary roads.

We can definitely find a suspension enhancement that will work for your 2015 Ford Transit T350. My first suggestion would be to take care of your suspension first if you think there is a problem. None of the suspension enhancements are designed to help a vehicle that has suspension that does not work properly. Once that is taken care of, you can look at the different options.
