Hauling heavy trailers or loading up the bed can make the rear end sag and steering feel light. Heavy loads can cause body roll in corners and sway that makes towing a handful. This kit strengthens your leaf springs so they react before those problems start. You don’t have to trade comfort for control. The coil springs in this system automatically disengage when unloaded so your factory leaf springs perform as they should. This heavy-duty kit uses high-grade alloy steel with an epoxy e-coat for corrosion resistance, plus brackets rated for more than 800 hours of salt spray testing. By reducing stress on your leaf springs, shocks, shackles, and tires, the RAS kit helps extend component life while delivering lasting support mile after mile.
Each unit comes fully assembled and mounts under the leaf spring using factory U-bolts—no drilling, cutting, or welding needed. Once bolted up, no ongoing adjustments or monitoring are required. Just install it with basic tools and get back to towing or hauling with a stable, level ride every time.

What's up everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna to be taking a look at a very popular suspension enhancement kit for your truck. And it's the Roadmaster suspension enhancement kit. Be sure to use our fit guide, put your vehicle's year, make, and model in there, and that's going to give you all of the compatible suspension systems that you can get for your truck. So this add-on component isn't going to require us to take any of the factory equipment off, so I really liked that. Buy a new truck, you want a little bit more help with the suspension.
You don't really have to remove anything that's already there, that's kind of cool. So another thing that's nice about that, adding another component that's going to take some of that load is just going to put less strain on your components. So these three leaf springs are handling, let's just say, 5,000 pounds. Now we have a fourth component, so that can be divided by four, instead of three. It's just gonna prolong the life.
It's gonna prevent any axle wrapping, any bottoming out of any sorts. And this is going to be a lot less maintenance than your typical airbags. And the cool thing about it is just like airbags, we can kind of adjust it, but this one we can as well. I actually think that this is a lot smoother than airbags because I've ridden with air bags, with no load on them, and it's like riding just on bricks. It's feels like there's not any suspension at all.
So the coil springs really gonna help that. It does have a powder-coated finish to it as well, so it's not really gonna rust away over time. So, I definitely think that this is probably one of the best things you can get for your truck. And even above airbags. This is also gonna help limit your sway that you might feel whenever you're going down the road, whenever you're hauling something.
A lot of times, whenever your trailer gets off centered, the opposing side of your suspension's gonna kind of correct for that. But having a little bit more support is gonna be good because it's not gonna over-correct and that's when all that crazy sway starts to happen. Also, with air bags, a lot of the times you don't have a whole lot of travel. We're not really limiting our travel here, we're just kind of beefing it up a little bit. With limited travel, whenever you hit bumps and stuff, sometimes you start hopping your back end off of the road whenever we're not hauling something. With this, we're not gonna have to worry about that just because it's just a little bit tighter suspension. It's not really completely locking it in with a set of airbags. Comparing them to upgraded bump stops. A lot of them that we sell are just a little bit bigger than this, so they start to hit the axle a little bit sooner. But, whenever the suspension isn't sagging that much, you're not really getting the benefits of it, because it's only activated when it's under load. So this it's activated and right now. So you don't really have to worry about you getting to that point for your upgrade to start kicking in. With this, you can have it kick in right on the get go. Well I called my buddy Joe and he's to put some weight in the back of the truck. This is about 1500 pounds, give or take, so it's quite the load. Oh wow. I can already see the spring workin'. So this is gonna be very interesting on our test course. Thanks, Joe. You're the best, I really appreciate it. Ooh nice. Right as he lowers it down, I don't know if you can see it on camera, but that spring is definitely workin'. Less load on my leaf springs. That's what we're really going for here. Oh wow. I can definitely tell a difference. My truck is typically not happy with this much weight, but it just feels tighter. Meaning, I just feel like the suspension is doing more sooner, just so I don't hit those overloaded springs down at the bottom. Cause' that's when you can start really messing stuff up, you overload em' too much and then release strings will not work as well anymore. You're looking for the easiest way to beef up your suspension, but also have some adjustability. The Roadmaster suspension enhancement system is gonna be great for any type of truck that you may have. These are definitely something that I would use. I still think these springs are one of the best aftermarket purchases Ive made for this truck. Obviously, different trucks will give different results, but for me not having to hassle with a WDH I just use a sway bar makes all the difference. Before the springs, I would towwith a WDH and sway bar and constantly felt the trailer behind me or felt I was floating in the front end. These springs have *almost* completely eliminated that. Amazing difference.

1-year comments - As mentioned, traded the F-150 for a Tundra. RAS did make a noticeable difference in handling of the travel trailer and body roll of the truck even when not towing. I can only guess but would recommend going with standard model over HD as ride was stiff with light load in the truck and not towing. Upgrading the suspension on the travel trailer made the most difference in overall stability. New slightly higher rated leaf springs, Morryde equalizer, and wet bolts, combined to greatly lessen the body roll of the trailer which led to a much more stable drive especially with side wind loads. RAS is nice and worked to give the F150 more strength for when towing or when more heavily loaded. So still give it 4 stars.

The RAS is a great addition to the stock leaf springs on my F250. I have in the past year towed my 36’ Jayco travel trailer from Ontario to Nova Scotia and from Ontario to South Georgia. About 1700 miles total. From the 400 series highway the Trans Canada highway and the inter state highways the RAS along with the Fast Way E2 weight distribution and sway control system, my bumper tow is locked in and stable. The RAS reduces body roll on the tow vehicle eliminating the magnifying effect body roll has on the sway of the trailer. No white knuckling in cross winds or passing transport trucks on the interstate highways. Highly recommend to compliment the rear truck springs for towing heavy loads.

Been a year now and I’ve pulled my 9200lb arctic fox trailer from Illinois to Halifax NS and back. The tongue weight was 870lb and the payload weight of the truck was maxed out from the Ford towing program and the CAT scale. The weight distribution hitch and this allowed for a very smooth ride even in the rain. The only issue was when the crosswinds were more than 10mph. The winds coming home out of Canada were 30mph and that was anxiety inducing especially coming across the mountains. Without the RAS I wouldn’t have even tried it. This was necessary to level the truck and have it track. I bought the trailer TPMS also because a blowout at that weight leaves no margin for error. Get the RAS for your light duty truck but don’t ignor your max weights. The rear axle weight was the limiting factor without the RAS and the WDH. The only drawback is the Ford headlight leveling sensor on the rear drivers side axle sits awfully close to the clearance of the shock and careful positioning is called for.

Its been a year since I installed my Roadmasters. Would I do it again? Absolutely! They have made my travel trailer pulling such a better experience. In addition, my daily commute has been a pleasure as well.

After a year of use , these RoadMaster 3611-HD active suspensions are still the best addition to my trucks performance. The streets of Houston are brutal and these active suspension breeze through them. I have 354000 on this truck and if I ever get another, this Active Suspension will be the first addition. Hands down!

Wow, that is awesome to hear a product really deliver on what its made to do! Youre a competetive shooter? Thats so cool. I could never do that - Im such a bad shot I wouldnt hit water even if I fell out of a boat. Do you travel across the country or do you stay more local?

Its been really wonderful. 10k 5er on my 07 2500hd classic ccsb and I can definitely notice an improvement in handling, including less porpoising. Towed it a couple times since, including a 7 hour drive. Very happy. I recently replaced the old wornout front bumpstops with sumo springs monsters and saw additional improvement. Neither hurts the unloaded ride, just better all around!

It has been a year now since I installed the Roadmaster Active Suspension system on my 2018 F150. We pull a 30 ft travel trailer from Wisconsin to Alabama.Last year the roads became very slippery when we encountered a rain snow mix. The truck and trailer tracked perfectly. I just hooked up the rig yesterday to take the same trip, leaving tomorrow. The truck definitely handles better with the RAS. Im glad I installed it and am sure it will last for years.
