Features to know about

Control and Cushion When It Counts

When the load gets heavy, your truck needs more than just rear springs hanging on for dear life. Alpha HD air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of rear axle support, keeping your truck steady even when the trailer is loaded, the bed is packed, and the miles are long. No more rear-end sag throwing off your braking and steering, or headlights pointing into the sky. With air bag support underneath, you keep control of your ride even when you're towing a travel trailer or moving a serious payload.

Dial in the Ride for Any Load

Every load is different, and this system adjusts to match. Alpha HD air springs let you fine-tune ride height and firmness with air pressure from 5 to 100 psi. When carrying heavy weight, add air to level your suspension and maintain steady handling. Running without a load? Drop to the minimum pressure for a smoother, more compliant ride without stiffness or bounce. Manual inflation valves are included, so tuning your setup for each trip is straightforward and dependable.

Built Tough for Work and Weather

Air bags are only as strong as their weakest link. That's why Alpha HD bags are reinforced from end to end with heavy-duty end caps, 20 internal support wires, and powder-coated steel brackets. Add corrosion-resistant hardware and thick roll plates, and you've got gear that holds up to real-world hauling through heat, cold, salt, and slop.

Installation That Doesn't Waste Your Weekend

Adding serious load support shouldn't mean losing a whole weekend. The precision laser-cut brackets are designed to bolt cleanly to your truck's existing mounting points with minimal drilling. Just smart engineering that fits the way it should, which is perfect for the DIYer. Manual valves mount through license plate fastener holes or a location of your choosing (which may require drilling). With high-quality fittings, pre-bent brackets, and mounting hardware included, you'll be back on the road in just a few hours without a trip to the fab shop.

Flexible for Today, Ready for What's Next

This kit is designed to work with your setup today and grow with your upgrades tomorrow. You can inflate manually through the included air valves right out of the box, no extra parts needed. Already have an onboard compressor? The Alpha HD system connects easily to most existing setups.

Want to step up to an all-in-one kit with air bags, compressor, and wireless controller in one package? We've got you covered with Pacbrake's On Demand Kit (PB69YV).

Looking for a complete system with onboard air storage too? Upgrade to one of the "Ultimate" Kits (PB52YV) or (PB32YV) with air bags, compressor, wireless controller, and a 1/2-gallon or 2-1/2-gallon tank for added versatility.

Video Transcript for Review of Pacbrake Vehicle Suspension - Alpha HD Rear Axle Double Convoluted Air Bag Kit - PB32ZV

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Pacbrake Alpha HD rear axle double convoluted airbag suspension kit. Now this kit has been designed for your 2019 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 with the two and four-wheel drives. And this kit is going to work with all truck bed lengths. However, this is not going to fit models equipped with the adaptive ride control. If you have the AT4 or Trail Boss four-wheel drive models, you should use the kit that you see there on your screen instead, identified by the model number that you see there, which comes with the required two-inch spacer.

On custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer.com. Simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. So when the load gets heavy, your truck is going to need more than just those factory rear springs hanging on for dear life. These airbags are gonna give you up to 5,000 pounds of rear axle support, keeping your truck level and steady, even when the trailer is loaded and the bed is packed and the miles are long. So you're not gonna have to worry about any more rear end sagging, throwing off your braking and steering or your headlights pointing up to the sky.

Every haul is different, of course. That's why these air springs give you full control over your ride height and firmness, with adjustable air pressure from five to 100 PSI. Hauling a fifth wheel or a full bed of gravel, then you can just crank up the pressure in the bags. And then when you're unloaded and you're heading home, you can just drop that pressure back down, giving you a softer ride. With the manual inflation valves included, tuning your suspension for the day's work is gonna be very easy, very straightforward.

Now if extreme hauling does demand extreme durability, these springs are built with one inch thick corrosion-resistant end caps, which you can't see because I do have them kind of loosely assembled, and I've got the roll plates here on the top and the bottom. But these also are reinforced with 20 internal support wires for maximum strength under that heavy load. And then these roll plates are heavy duty. They are designed to protect the bags from chafing and help extend their lifespan. And then these custom fit powder coated steel brackets are going to resist rust and corrosion, road salt, all those rough seasons, such as if it's a bitter cold or if it's scorching heat, or mud-slicked job sites.

This system is designed to outlast whatever the road is going to give you, mile after mile and load after load. Now I do wanna point out that with Pacbreak, the word that comes to mind is premium. I have dealt with in the past, with other manufacturers, airbag suspension kits. They all have their strengths, but I'm just immediately impressed by the quality of the materials that, especially the materials used to construct the bag, the powder coat finish on these brackets, everything with this kit just speaks of a premium quality to me. So if you're looking for a top-of-the-line air suspension kit, in my opinion, Pacbreak is going to be the way to go. These precision laser cut custom fit brackets are designed to bolt cleanly to your truck's existing mounting points without welding or drilling to your frame. You're just, of course, gonna use the included hardware. And so this kit is designed to work with your setup today. And wherever your upgrades are going to take you tomorrow, you're gonna be able to inflate them manually with the standard air valves right out of the box, no extra parts needed. And then if you already have an onboard compressor, these are gonna be able to connect easily to most existing setups. And then if you're planning for an in-cab wireless controller sometime down the road, that's not gonna be a problem, because with this kit, you're building that foundation so that you can expand in how you're going to control these down the road. So again, the load leveling support's gonna be up to 5,000 pounds, but just be aware of the fact that airbags do not actually increase the weight carrying capacity of your truck. So you do wanna make sure that you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limit. If you do pick this kit up, we would love to hear back from you regarding your experience with the installation and the operation of this kit, and you can do that by dropping a comment or leaving a review on this product page. And if you have any other additional questions, don't hesitate to give us a call. We'd love to hear from you and help you out further. Well, that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

Easy install and done exactly what I needed it to do

by:

Excellent choice… Very high-quality… Took 4 to 5 hours to install… Which included new shocks getting all the tools together and clean up… Very happy thank you

Installed this past weekend. Haven't towed with it yet. Nice construction and finish. I have a 2025 Chevrolet Trail Boss 2500HD and the spacers are NOT needed. Measurement for needing the spacers in 7" and above between jounce cup and contact pad. My space was 5.5" to 6".

Awesome product easy to install and I really appreciate etrailer service

by:

It was very easy install . The ride has improved a lot while towing my 41 ft. toy hauler , Thanks !!

by:

Direct bolt on, plug and play

by:

The product is a great product. After installation was completed and the air added to the air suspension, it raised the rear end of the van about 2-3 inches.A very nice improvement.
Installation instructions definitely need better quality diagrams.

by:

Easy to install and work just as I had expected. Great finish on brackets and quality hardware. Easy to follow instructions. Highly recommend these airbags!

by:

The 2" spacers are definitely not needed for a Trail Boss. I could barely get them in, and now the ride is super stiff. Now I have to get back under the truck and remove the spacers. Not looking forward to that. It was very difficult installation, for no reason.

by:

Put about 1800 miles on these last weekend. Was picking up a car that's heavier than my normal race car on the ramp truck, so I wanted to give the truck a bit of help. Good news, it worked well. Truck rode beautifully, loaded or unloaded.

The instructions could be a bit more clear, in regards to the clinch stud. I had that on backwards at first because of how things appeared in the picture. Also, I know most things are DIY but installation was about 80% assembly, 20% actual install. If these came already assembled, it would have saved a lot of time!

by:

Very well built brackets, installation was as explained in the instruction. Happy Camper!

Worked out great

  • Which Pacbreak Airbag Kit Will Fit My 2023 Chevy 1500 Z71?
Hey Chuck, For your 2023 Chevy since it is not the Trail Boss model I recommend going with the # PB32ZV from Pacbrake. The ones that you mentioned are specifically designed for the Trail Boss so the brackets are going to be different than your Z71 model. The # PB32ZV is going to be the direct bolt on kit for your rear axle. Are you towing with that vehicle, or use a truck bed camper?

  • Why Do Some Pacbrake Air Bags Have Internal Jounce Bumper and Firestone Do Not
Hey Don! The Pacbrake Alpha HD # PB32ZV you were looking at does not have the internal jounce bumper. You would need the Pacbrake Alpha HD Pro Air Bag Suspension w/ Internal Jounce Bumpers # PB92ZV. The jounce bumper adds additional support when you're running the air bags at the minimum psi and an extra layer of protection if you bottom out. Firestone is pretty confident in their bags and they don't see bottoming out as a real concern. I'm not sure why they don't add them in as a backup...

  • Can Curt TruTrack Be Used on 2004 ATC Trailer That Can't Use Weight Distribution
Hi Tom; the trailer manufacturer has the final word on weight distribution hitches. Since they say they don't recommend it you do not want to use the Curt TruTrack # C17500 or any other WDH with your trailer. What kind of issues are you experiencing while towing? If the trailer is causing the back end of your truck to squat I recommend adding SumoSprings # SS45FR or even air bags like # PB32ZV. If your main concern is trailer sway you can use the Curt True Course # C94VV for sway control.

  • Best Suspension Enhancement For A 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Pulling A 7,500 Pound Camper
We have three options I would recommend for you, Tim. All are air bags as they are my preferred may to help eliminate sag when towing. All three of these will also fit either the 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive options for a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500, but there are a few notes and exceptions depending on trim and options. If you let me know which trim/options your truck has down in the comments below, I can definitely narrow down which will fit. Option 1: Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs...
