Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: Up to 1,000 lbs of Rear Suspension Support

When heavy gear or a trailer weighs down the back of your vehicle, the rear can sag and throw off balance. Firestone Coil-Rite air helper springs fit inside the stock coil springs to provide up to 1,000 lbs of load-leveling support. They keep your vehicle level when hauling, help maintain even load distribution, and improve braking and steering control so you stay confident behind the wheel.

Fine-Tune Ride Height and Comfort: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 psi to 35 psi

Every haul or trip demands a different setup. These air springs let you manually adjust pressure anywhere between 5 psi and 35 psi to match your load. Add air to firm up support when carrying heavy weight or let some out for a smoother ride when empty. Separate inflation valves let you balance side-to-side pressure for off-center loads, keeping your ride stable and evenly supported.

Smooth Out the Drive: Added Cushion for Rough Roads

When road conditions get rough or the suspension bottoms out, these polyurethane air bags take the hit instead. They absorb road shock and soften contact between the axle and frame, helping prevent bottoming out and reducing bounce. That extra cushion keeps steering steady and improves overall comfort, even with heavy cargo in back.

Built to Last Through Daily Use: Durable Polyurethane Construction

Constructed from elastic polyurethane, the Coil-Rite air springs are made for years of reliable service under load. The kit includes all hardware, air line, brackets, and separate valves needed for manual inflation so you can get them installed and ready without tracking down extra parts. Replacement springs are also available for future maintenance, keeping your suspension setup dependable long term.

The airbags were difficult to install on a 2021 Sienna. It required removing the rubber stopper from inside the coil spring. Once that was out, install was easy. However, these need to be installed with the valve down as the plastic spacers fall out when the van is lifted for service when installed right side up as recommended. Upside down the air hose is routed thru the center of the plastic donut spacer which holds it in place when the van is lifted. However, once installed "upside down" the valves tend to pinch on the suspension as they move around. The pinching lets the air out and requires the bags to be frequently repositioned especially after the van is lifted for service. It is a good product, just unreliable and requires much inspection and maintenance to work properly. Will be loading up again for a summer trip and will need to reposition them so they work as I just had the oil changed.

These bags along with minor adjustments to my load leveling hitch made towing my 19.4 No Bo trailer so much more relaxing!I am running 20 PSI and 3/4 of an inch higher than stock ride hight. Easy peasy

by:

I bought this set because I was having problems with one of the airbags I previously had gotten. It was on the right side of my forerunner. It had a slow leak. When I replaced the airbag this time it had a very fast leak. I finally found That if I used NAPA Sil-Glyde to insert tube it seems to be holding air. And I squeezed air bag into the spring. Use soap for sliding it in.

by:

Phone service was excellent. Air bags helped a lot with stability. I found it easier to remove the spring from the Avalanche than to fight with it in chassis. Removing the spring also gave me a chance to clean the dirt and rocks out of the hose routing area. It was a little more work to drop the axle down but it really wasn't that bad. I was able to do it all without a hoist. Just used two floor jacks. I just let one side down at a time. Remove your swaybar link and shock and let one side down. Pull the spring and do the work in a vise. Its much easier than fighting with it on your back. Also put the air hose in really hot water and it will relax its memory.

Well I did not expect to have a one year follow up from ETrailer! I’m a 5 Star happy with these airbags over the AirLift 1000’s I had that blew out just after the warranty was up! These bags are more than twice the product, as you can inflate to >60 psi and that makes for a way more steady ride with weight! I typically run mine at around 45 psi now, the AirLift are limited to 28 psi. The construction is far superior and quality is excellent!!!

Another great transaction you guys rock

by:

Installation was not that hard and it makes a big diffenence in the ride of my vehicle. I have a 10 year old car and the springs were not performing well even though I changed the shocks. These bags are the greatest, especially for the cost.

by:

I was amazed seller shipped same day--as i ordered in evening! Product seems to be complete and well made, installing now.

by:

Quick, prompt service.
These work well.
Have used them on numerous vehicles. Not always easy to get in place.

by:

Love that I can load up the Prius and I get no sag

by:

Good product and easy to install if you are a little handy with tools.

by:

Installation of the first air bag took me about 25 minutes, and the second one about 5 minutes. I heated the second air bag with a heat lamp to make it more flexible. I think my 2010 Prius drives better with them installed.

by:

Been great on my 2010 Toyota Prius. Have had them now for about 1 year. I haul many things in the back of this car and these air bags are up to the task. No more low squatting car!

by:

installation instructions could be better

When
you deflate to work into spring, once you get one end in you should release the deflater stopper, makes it easier to work into place.

Also, if you work it in from the top, once you get it mostly in, rotate it around like you are screwing it in place, this is my 3rd set to install, struggled on the 1st set, easy to do now.

Just a few suggestions

Very satisfied with product. Complete kit, High quality.

Like all my etrailer purchases
Great
value great provider with fast economical shipping.
Bag system was great upgrade to my Prius V which great performance and cargo area but Not a suspension for weight on a hitch receiver nor heavier cargo behind rear wheels. Perfect solution! Takes some skill to install but not inordinate. Thanx

Ordered From QC,Canada. Delivery took 13 days. Installed on my driveway in my Toyota Prius 2012. It's a 2-person job, took 1.5 hr total. Not hard to do

by:

These things are awesome. Install was a bit tricky with actually getting them inside the spring. Defintely don’t attempt during the colder season as the material is NOT pliable. A bit of soapy water helps if the springs uncompressed still aren’t wide enough to easily work them in. They’ve held up great and provide a decent ride when the vehicle is loaded down. Minimal squat!

Order these for a 2013 Toyota Prius C. Website here didn't list this part worked for my vehicle. I cross referenced through other websites to find which model was going to work for my Prius C and came across the Toyota Yaris has the same size rear spring as my Prius C, so I put two and two together and placed the order. Product arrived and installation was a breeze ( that's if you knew before hand what is expected) I researched by viewing video after video of different ways to install these bags. As long you can raise the car high enough off the ground and secure vehicle with jack stands. You won't have any trouble sliding these air bags between the springs. I've read reviews where they stated they had a tough time pushing bags between springs. The only thing I can think of is they did not raise vehicle high to allow the rear suspension to extend or they removed the tires during installation. My advice-keep the wheels on, the added weight of the wheels help extend the springs to more to give that extra gap to slide air bag in between spring.
So if you own a 2013 Toyota Prius C, these air bags will work for you. Now I can transport two adults in the rear seats and not have to worry about tires hitting the rear fenders when driving over bumpy roads

They still function like day one after the install. Have to add air every other week, sometimes longer if Im not transporting passengers in the rear seats

  • How to Install the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs on a 2014 Toyota Prius
Hey Michael welcome back! First thing I noticed is Firestone really needs to update their installation instructions for the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs item # F4136. Luckily we've had quite a few customers install this on a Toyota Prius and they've been kind enough to send us in pictures. I have attached a couple of them below. To answer your questions. The support disks will definitely be needed. The valve stems will be orientated downwards towards the road. If you have...

  • Is there Angled Fittings for the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs?
Hey Michael! Glad to hear you got the air bags item # F4136 installed on your Prius. There are angled fittings and upgraded lines that you can purchase with the item # AL52300 kit. However, these are not going to work on your set up because the fitting sizes are different and you have that spacer block.

  • Do They Make Air Bags Air Helper Springs for My 2017 Ford Expedition?
Hello Bryan, They do not make air bags for the Ford Expedition. Firestone does make the Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for Coil Spring Suspension - Front Axle # CSS-1168F, but these would be for the front and not the rear. What are you trying to correct with the airbags? Just trying to figure out if we have some other kind of option to help, but first I need to know what you are hauling.

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement for a 2006 Toyota Prius
For the 2006 Toyota Prius we do have one option that will help with a sagging rear end. You can use the SumoSprings, # CSS-1145R. These guys will fit in the spaces between coils on the rear coil springs and take care of the rear end squat. Suspension enhancement is meant to be installed on a vehicle that has suspension that is in good working order. I recommend having the rear suspension checked out first just to be safe. I have linked a video showing a typical installation of SumoSprings...

  • Is an On-board Air Compressor Needed to Use Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs
You do not have to have an on-board compressor or control unit to use the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4136. To add air you would need to use a compressor of some kind. If you happened to have a portable one that would work. Otherwise you could use the ones at gas stations. To remove air you would just have to depress the valve, just like letting air out of a tire. I have included a link to the installation details for you. Having the suspension enhancement at the rear only...

  • Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4136 for 2011 Toyota Prius
According to my contacts at Firestone, the Coil-Rite Air Helper Spring kit you mentioned, part # F4136 will indeed fit the 2011 Toyota Prius. When installing the system, it is crucial that the cuts made in the air line be absolutely square to avoid air leakage. We recommend using a tubing cutter like part # AL10530. Keep in mind that the Air Helper springs will not increase the capacity of your vehicle. For installation details, click the provided link.

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2013 Toyota Prius
We actually only have one suspension enhancement fit we can recommend and it's only for the 2013 Toyota Prius and not the V. For that you'd want the Firestone air bag kit part # F4136. The SumoSprings you mentioned cannot be used on the Prius.

  • Does Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Spring Kit # F4136 Fit 2014 Toyota Yaris
The Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Spring Kit # F4136 that you referenced is indeed a correct fit for your 2014 Toyota Yaris as indicated on etrailer's fit guide. The Firestone website just has not been updated. I confirmed with my technical contact there that this kit is a correct fit. The installation instructions are linked for your reference. • Will the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs Part # F4136 Raise/Lower My Vehicle
The Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F4136 will not raise or lower your 2014 Toyota Prius whether they are deflated to the minimum psi (5) or inflated to the maximum psi (35). Some of the benefits of these air bags include: keeping your vehicle level when you are hauling a heavy load, improving steering control/balance, and reducing tire wear. To cut the airlines, you will want to use theTubing Cutter part # AL10530 to ensure you are receiving a secure and snug connection...

  • Is There Reason Not to Inflate Firestone Coil Rite Air Bags to Same PSI
The only time it would be advantageous to have ability to inflate the air bags of the Coil Rite # F4136 separately would be if you had an uneven load from left to right that you were trying to level out. For a union tee to allow you the ability to inflate both bags to same PSI you could easily use the part # F3105-1.

  • How Often Should I add Air to my Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs on my 2015 Toyota Prius
When using the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs Part # F4136 on your 2015 Toyota Prius you should not have to add air on a regular basis. I sometimes see a slight pressure loss when it goes from hot outside to cold and you'll have to add a bit to get it back to pressure similar to the way a tire on a vehicle fluctuates up and down slightly with weather. If you are adding air on a regular basis to the bags to maintain your desired pressure then you have a leak in the system and...
