Is an On-board Air Compressor Needed to Use Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs

Question:

I want to prevent my car from bottoming out when we load up the car to go camping. My question is, do I need to get a controller or a separate piece to inflate or deflate these supports? Since I would only need these about 3 maybe 4 times a year, I dont want to spend money on stuff that I dont need like being able to adjust the air pressure from within my car. Could I get by with only this for the rear? If so, how do I inflate/deflate them? Thanks!

You do not have to have an on-board compressor or control unit to use the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs # F4136. To add air you would need to use a compressor of some kind. If you happened to have a portable one that would work. Otherwise you could use the ones at gas stations.

To remove air you would just have to depress the valve, just like letting air out of a tire. I have included a link to the installation details for you.

Having the suspension enhancement at the rear only is fine since that is where most of the additional weight is going.
