Heavy trailers, campers, and bed loads can make the rear of your truck sag and your steering feel light. The Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs add up to 7,500 lbs of load-leveling capacity to keep your truck level and stable when hauling or towing. By keeping the rear suspension supported, they help maintain steering control, braking performance, even tire wear, and correctly aimed headlights when the weight gets serious.
Every haul is different, and having control over your suspension makes all the difference. These air springs adjust manually from 5 psi to 150 psi, letting you tailor support for heavy towing days or lighter runs. Each side can be inflated separately through individual valves to level off-center loads, giving you a balanced, stable ride that stays comfortable and predictable no matter how uneven the cargo.

When durability matters most, the Red Label design steps up with four layers of reinforced rubber and corrosion-resistant metal end plates. A braided wire girdle forms a double-convoluted shape that increases burst pressure and overall strength. The rolled crimp seal keeps each spring securely anchored so you can count on reliable air support during years of towing and hauling without air leaks or sagging.

Installing serious suspension support doesn’t have to be complicated. Each kit includes vehicle-specific brackets, fasteners, hardware, air line tubing, and separate valves for manual inflation—everything needed for a no-drill install on your rear axle and frame. Optional compressors, switches, or tanks can be added later for in-cab control, but right out of the box you get the core components that make a big difference in ride stability and load handling.
Ratings & Reviews
Little different compared to Firestone I installed 9 years ago. The top mount is a big improvement.
The bottom mount looked awesome using clips under the pad instead of the vertical and horizontal U Bolts on the older version I installed in 2017.
The park brake cable bracket was directly in the way of the pinch bolt for base plate clip connection
pass side.
I made it work with a little fanning on the lower clip.
It was about 98 degrees and have not swapped the drivers side out yet being it is still functional. All good with me, if you had not asked for a review etrailer would not have heard from me.
Installation was straightforward. I used the pdf instructions included on the product page (QR code included in the box didn’t work) and a few of the videos posted on the product page for my truck model to cross check my work. Someone else mentioned it took about 4 hours, which was spot on. I ordered a few of the tools I didn’t have on hand and was able to raise the bed a few inches with a floor jack at the receiver to create some more space. With removal of the spare tire I had a reasonable amount of room to sit and work. I’ll update my review after I’ve had a few opportunities to load my truck camper.
Install went well, instructions were easy to understand. The only thing I didn't like was the big nut (holds top of airbag to bracket) interfered with bracket securing the top bracket to the bounce/jounce part. Not sure what the fix would be, I used a wrench to get it on (it should have threaded on by hand most of the way).
I don't have any leaks, all seems good. We tow next week and that will be the test. I expect no issues, it all looks good.
No issues after a year of using these airbags while towing my 16K 5th wheel.
It's been my experience that Etrailer sells quality products at a good price with free shipping. The recent Firestone heavy duty 7500 lb airbags are no exception. I had originally installed the lighter duty 5000 lb bags and they lasted 10 years. The airbag hardware is the same as my originals so all I had to do was pop off the bags and air lines. That's good because the existing countersink bolts connecting the hardware to the chassis are never coming off. The installation took 1 hr and 15 min. I thought I had a problem after checking the system for leaks, There wasn't any leakage but the pressure had gone down from 70 to 63 psi. I contacted Etrailer and they offered to replace the bags. However, I came to realize that my pressure gauge was slowly dying and giving me faulty readings. I also realized I put in 120 degree air from my compressor on a 90 degree day and then checked the bags the next morning at 60 degrees. The pressure does drop somewhat due to the temperature differential. The removal of the old bags took longer than the installation of the new bags. I began by removing the old hardware and realized the csk bolts were not coming off, which is why I just used the existing hardware. I had to cut the bags and visegrip them up to the hardware to keep them from spinning when removing the nut holding the bags onto the hardware. A word of caution...don't be afraid to zip tie the air lines every 10" or so. My original air line had some slack and got caught between the chassis and the bed so got a bit flattened. I'm pleased!
This set was a replacement for the ones on my F350 that were already on the truck. Everything went back together with ease once the old bracket were removed. With one air compressor air is is delivered to the air-ride system one the truck is started. I pill a fifth-wheel with a tongue weight of around 3600 pounds. With this system I'm able to level out the truck.
Install was straightforward. Instructions are pretty good and easy to follow. I paired with an onboard air compressor with wireless control which makes adjusting air pressure in the bars super convenient.
GREAT KIT WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO I NSTALL
I have not installed them. On my list to do.
I was disappointed in the price. It is becoming more and more difficult to be a brick and mortar retail. The difference between what you are offering products to DIY vs DIFM is not great enough.
This is great product to install. Just follow the instructions. I used tourqe air bags and had 1 blow in 13 months, they didn't warranty. Etrailer set me right up with the correct bags. Thanks
The 90 degree air fittings could be longer. As they bottom out on mounting plate when clocked to correct positions
When I purchased my items from etrailer.com, one of the items was on a backorder from the manufacturer, etrailer.com contacted me immediately to inform me of the issue, they kept in constant contact with me and the manufacturer until my order reached my door. When I recieved my parts they were just what I had ordered and in perfect conditon. "You just cannot find customer service like that anymore, and that is what will bring me back to etrailer again!" Thank you.
I loved them at first but all the hardware started braking and the fitings on the bag didn’t hold air so I bought some upgraded ones from (online store)
great place to do business with.

Hi Austin, this definitely shouldn't have happened. Can you let me know which hardware broke? These helper springs do have a 2-year limited warranty on the hardware.
